More on Baba Elazar ZT"L

Shirat Devorah has a very interesting guest post.

Kikar says that Baba Elazar said a couple hours before he was murdered, "You need to know that we must be Moser Nefesh for the Creator's honor."

Also at Kikar, a quote from the Penei Yehoshua that the deaths of Tzaddikim who were killed by fellow Jews is NOT an atonement.

Matzav, nevertheless, has Rav Chaim Kanievsky's letter to Baba Elazar's son:

“Rav Pinchos shlita,” Rav Chaim wrote, “it is with great sadness that we heard about what happened. This is a painful gezeirah and it should be for a kapparah. May Hashem comfort you among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.”


Also at Matzav, Rav Shteinman, Rav Karelitz, and Rav Shmuel Auerbach said we need to strengthen our Bein Adam LaHaveiro.

Just a thought that occurred to me: we had a tragic killing of a Tzaddik by a Jew at the beginning of our Babylonian exile (Gedalia Ben Ahikam) and we just experienced another one at the end of the last exile of Edom.  Perhaps, these were meant to be signals to mark the beginning and the end of the exile.  Just a thought.

"Like the Sun Setting in Midday"

...So said Rav Ovadia Yosef in his Hesped of Baba Elazar ZT"L.

I will add that his holy words may have a double connotation. והמבין יבין.

In his own hesped, his uncle, Baba Baruch, said:
“Harsh punishments were decreed on the people of Israel, and he wanted to nullify them,” said the slain rabbi's brother, Rabbi Baruch Abuhatzeira, also known as the Baba Baruch, speaking at Rabbi Abuhatzeira's funeral.

He added, “As he nullified many harsh decrees for us...We ask you, Rabbi Elazar: go before the Throne of Glory and pray there for the people of Israel. Pray for the entire family. Pray for your sons, your daughters, your grandchildren and wife,” Rabbi Baruch continued. He said, “There is much to say, but the mind is confused.”

Rabbi Shlomo Amar, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel, made similar comments to Arutz Sheva on Friday.

“Who knows what kind of decree G-d's people was under? And [Rabbi Abuhatzeira] was strong for us, and he bore the atonement for our generation,” Rabbi Amar said.

An interesting observation was made by the gematriot blog, in that in the Kletzky murder, the victim and murderer both had the same first and last letter in their first names. Also, in this murder, the victim and murderer both had the same first and last letter in their first names.

Both Ladaat and Kikar quote Baba Elazar's nephew, יבלחט"ו Rav Yoshiahu Pinto, as saying that Baba Elazar gave him his father's watch on Erev Rosh Hashana last year. When Rav Pinto asked why he didn't want to keep it, he said that he didn't need it so much longer - "How much do I have left to live? A year?"

Unbelievable.

Rav Elbaz: "A great decree has befallen Kelal Yisrael"..."I am sure that HKB"H is hinting things to us - to all of Kelal Yisrael - to accept true Teshuva."

Rav Amar: "Death of the Tzadikim is worse than the destruction of the Beit Hamikdash.  We pray to HKB"H that he will atone for his nation to sweeten (?) the judgements that are on Am Yisrael.   הושיעה את עמך וברך את נחלתך .  We should hear and be informed of only good news."  Trying to keep the rabbis from panicking, he said, "No need to get caught up in one incident.  We need to trust in Hashem.  We're talking about an incident that was not yet investigated.  There is nothing logical here, but rather a harsh decree."

Rav Ovadia heard about the murder and broke out crying.

The murderer (!) recently gave Shiurim in Elad.  One of the attendees reported: "Just yesterday, he gave an informative shiur in the synagogue about the destruction of the Beit Hamikdash and Sinat Hinam and caused many people from the audience to cry."  Someone else said, "He recently requested from us to pray that Mashiah Ben Yosef should not die.  He expressed the idea that the Mashiah is here and it's forbidden to allow him to die."

Again, a murder that makes absolutely no sense at first glance.  I am at a loss for words as to what's going on in the Jewish world.  Is Jewish life suddenly cheap in the eyes of Torah-observers?  I don't get it.  Gedalia Ben Ahikam was murdered by a Jew too.  So was Avner Ben Ner.  And Amasa.  I thought we learned that lesson.  I fear not.  We're living in very strange times.

Chief Sephardic Rabbi Shlomo Amar described, on Friday, the murder of Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira in these terms: "A malicious hand of evil and crime hit a holy man, one of the greatest rabbis of Israel, the son of the holy people of the Most High, who led tens of thousands in Israel in the Torah and pure piety, and now the darling of all eyes is no more."

Speaking to Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service at Rabbi Abuhatzeira's funeral, Rabbi Amar said the murder should arouse the people to think about their relations with G-d and fellow human beings, noting the rise in violence among Jews. He said the nation's children should be taught manners, good character traits, to reduce hate and rage, to eliminate anger and strictness and to increase love and friendship and be easy-going, forgiving and good.

Water Water Everywhere

Some observations about water lately:
  • Chicago has gotten a ridiculous amount of thunderstorms this month, each one knocking out power.  We already have a record rainfall for July and we're expecting more thunderstorms in the next few days.  Last night was the latest.
  • Tropical Storm Don.  Will it be דן ידין עמו?  Or is it Hesed in disguise as they've been suffering a major drought in that area?
  • Someone sent me this link in an email with the comment to how it parallels the second day of Creation.

Was Leiby a Gilgul of Rav Shach?

I wrote the majority of this post 2 days after the body was found.  I will acknowledge that this post is very controversial for a whole host of reasons.  Because of a these reasons, I've stopped myself from clicking the "Publish Post" button many times.  However, I made the decision that the time is right to publish this.  One may argue with that decision.  That is fair.  I personally argued with myself (figuratively) about it.  If you disagree with my decision, please comment respectfully.  Keep in mind that I'm a nobody and I'm only speaking from what comes into my own head.  I have no idea if this is true - it is pure speculation.  הנסתרות לה' אלקינו.


Leiby Kletzky, A"H, went through the ד' מיתות ב"ד (the 4 executions of Beit Din):


1) Sereifa - as Sereifa was really molten lead poured down one's throat, Leiby was drugged with various drugs that contributed to his death
2) Henek - he was suffocated to death
3) Hereg - his body was R"L dismembered
4) Sekila - part of his body was R"L thrown into a dumpster


Consider the following:


Rav Shach ZT"L wrote in his Tzava'a (last will and testament) to have the ד' מיתות ב"ד done to him after he died.


However, this was never done to him because he verbally told his family that this would look arrogant.


Leiby Kletzky was born July 29th, 2002.


Rav Shach died November 2, 2001.


The difference is 9 months.


Hmmmmm....


I'm not saying that Rav Shach needed a Tikkun for his Neshama.  Far be it from me to say such a thing.  What's more likely is that Kelal Yisrael needed a Tikkun for our collective Neshama.  We were lacking in Ahdut during the lifetime of Rav Shach, and we didn't give him the respect he deserved.  This, in turn, caused Rav Shach to be harsh on those who didn't follow his Hashkafot.  This wasn't out of Kavod for himself, חס ושלום, but rather, trying to protect the Kavod of the Torah.


During the search for Leiby Kletzky, the point was often made that we all had a great sense of Ahdut.  Leiby was able to unite Kelal Yisrael in a way that Rav Shach was not able to.  Despite 200,000 attendees at Rav Shach's funeral, it was more like ויבכו בני ישראל than כל בית ישראל (see Rashi), whereas no one can deny that for Leiby, it was כל בית ישראל.  That was the Tikkun for us all.


Further credence to the idea of Leiby being a Gilgul can possibly be taken from Rav Chaim Kanievsky, who wrote the following to the Kletzkys (English translation by Matzav):
Be”H, 19 Tammuz 5771


It is with great grief that we heard of the tragedy that has transpired to you. We don’t understand the calculations of Heaven, and this is surely a cheshbon (calculation) related to the neshamah in a prior ‘gilgul.’ May Hashem comfort you among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim, and may you see him [Leiby] upon techias hameisim, speedily.

Listen to the audio there on how Rav Moshe Meir Weiss explains that telling parents that their deceased child is a Gilgul is a consolation to the parents.

Erev R"H Av - Worldwide Prayer Gathering Called by Gedolim

Gedolim are calling upon everyone - men, women, and children - to join a worldwide prayer gathering on Yom Kippur Katan - eve of Rosh Hodesh Av - in all the places people live.  It was called to pray for:
  • Salvation from our enemies who are trying to destroy us
  • Those who are ill
  • Salvation from car accidents

Minha Gedola of the Sixth Millennium - When Is It? Today?

Well, yes, according to one way of looking at it.  I already mentioned that it fell out on 24 Tamuz according to Rav Fish.  That's today.

Minha Gedola is 20 5/6 years after Hatzot (Rosh Hashana 5761 5751). There are a couple ways of calculating five-sixths of the year:
1) Calculate regular year months:  Even though this year is a leap year, we go by the months of a regular year, so the 11th out of the 12th month begins at Rosh Hodesh Av.
2) Calculate days384 days this year.  Five-sixths of 384 = 320.  320 days from Rosh Hashana is today (24 Tamuz - July 26th).

According to this opinion, today should be the end of the exile.


As an aside, it is interesting to note that although the Shulhan Aruch prefers one to pray Minha Ketana over Minha Gedola, Rav Ovadia Yosef and his son write that it's better to pray Minha Gedola with a Minyan than to pray Minha Ketana without one:

ב מי שאינו משיג מנין לתפלת ''מנחה קטנה'' ויש לו מנין רק לתפלת מנחה גדולה, עדיף להתפלל לכתחלה מנחה גדולה, ובצבור, מאשר להתפלל מנחה קטנה ביחיד, וכן ראוי להורות. [ילקוט יוסף, ח''ג דיני ברהמ''ז וברכות עמוד תרלט. ירחון קול תורה חשון תשס''ד עמוד נז].

I saw elsewhere that even though we (especially Sepharadim) usually follow the Shulhan Aruch's opinion, the Minhag was to be lenient like the Zohar in Parshat Hayei Sarah, which allows one to pray at Minha Gedola.

May Hashem similarly be lenient upon us.

Chicago Jewish Population Figures: A Mixed Bag

The Good:
NEW YORK (JTA) -- The Chicago Jewish community grew by 8 percent over the past decade, or more than 21,000 people, according to a new demographic study.

The study, which the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago commissions every 10 years, found that the number of Jews living in the Chicago area increased for a third consecutive decade, to 291,800.

Chicago’s overall population over the same period grew by only 3.5 percent.

Among other findings, half of Chicago Jews have been to Israel, 86 percent of children aged 6-18 have had a formal Jewish education and nearly all the respondents said that being Jewish was important to them.
The Bad:
The Chicago study also found that intermarriage had increased from 30 percent in 2000 to 37 percent in 2010, and that more than 90,000 of the 148,100 Jewish households had at least one non-Jewish member.

On the seventeenth of Tamuz, the walls of Yerushalayim were breached. This is one of the reasons we fast on this day.

Throughout our exile, we, the Jewish people, have set up our own walls to stem the tide of being too influenced by the nations that surround us. The walls hold steady for a while, but the influences seep in little by little. Just when we think that a certain deviancy is pas-nisht for a Jew, we are proven wrong each and every time.  This too should be reason enough to fast.

The only things that can patch up the holes is learning Torah and doing Mitzvot and Hesed.  Those are the only remedies until Mashiah comes, at which time, he will be the leader that closes up the breaches.

Part of the liturgy for the seventeenth of Tamuz is:

גדור פרצי בבן פרצי, ומחדק לקוט שושן

Fence in my breach with the son of Peretz [i.e. Mashiah] and from the thorns, pick the rose.

Do Geula Blogs Prevent the Geula?

R' Ari Goldwag, in his farewell post, writes:
When we evaluate events and say that they are Moshiach's advent - we are limiting the events and preventing Moshiach from coming! When I look at the calendar dates and I point out all of that which is going on - I am limiting - entering into a world of da'as. Da'as is synonymous with evil and separation - it is the loss of the greater holistic world of Keser where everything - even opposites - lives in harmony. The Moshiach blogs actually serve to prevent Moshiach from coming. My discussions of Moshiach prevent him from coming.
I don't come to argue on him, but to get to the truth.  Is there truth in this statement?

Leiby

Leiby Kletzky's soul was brutally taken from him.

I found it very hard to post anything about this tragedy until I managed the courage to do so.  I was following the news stories closely on YWN, Matzav, and VIN and even the Israeli sites like Arutz Sheva, Ladaat, and Kikar.  When I woke up this morning trying to find out any information, I saw the bitter news.

And I cried.

As the morning progressed, I saw the even more tragic news that the murderer is a "Shomer Torah Umitzvot".  Apparently, he's missing a whole bunch of Mitzvot.  His wife met him at sawyouatsinai, but the commandments he saw must have looked something like this:



This week's Perasha has Hashem giving Pinehas His covenant of peace.  Shimon and Levi, the sons of Yaakov Avinu, had their anger cursed by their father for the slaughter of Shechem.  Pinehas, from Levi, killed Zimri, from Shim'on, in an act that symbolized Levi's break from his brother Shimon.  Levi's zealousy was sanctified by this holy act, whereas Shimon's zealousy remained rotten. (Nahalat Shimon)

Unfortunately, the Levi in the episode we are dealing with today murdered in a way that is the exact opposite of holiness. 

Pinehas is the grandson of Aharon, who exemplified peace

Mr. Aron in the episode we are dealing with today acted in a way that is the exact opposite of peace.

He apparantly doesn't know why he did it.  His רוח שטות cost a holy life.

My heart goes out to the Kletzky family.  There is not much more to say. וידם אהרן.

Pinehas/Matot/Mas'ei Calendar Stuff and a Possible Geula Connection

The rule is that whenever Pinehas falls out before Shiv'a Asar BeTamuz, it gets its own Haftara. Otherwise, we read the Haftara of Parshat Matot as it is then the first of the "Telat dePuranuta" - 3 Haftarot of Punishment. When Pinehas is read after Shiv'a Asar BeTamuz, Matot and Mas'ei are read together.

Pinehas having its own Haftara and Matot and Mas'ei being read separately is actually very rare. I noticed this rarity 6 years ago, the first time this happened in 21 years, and in 3 years, it won't happen for another 21 years after that. See the chart below:

We see how rare it is that the Haftara of Pinehas is read.  The Haftara is about Eliyahu Hanavi "finding" Hashem in the קול דממה דקה - thin, small voice.

According to the author of the book by the same name, the קול דממה דקה is one of the names of Mashiah and is equivalent to the following "Kol" mentioned in the Zohar Hadash Balak, in what's commonly called מאמר דרך כוכב מיעקב:
כעת לסוף יומיא, כפום שעתא דיומא, בעידן די זרח שמשא, מן יומא שתיתאה, בשעתא דיזדמנון לפום מנין שנין, דיובל ושמיטה כחדא, דאיהו רע"ד מן יומא שתיתאה. כעת זמינא קלא חדא לאתערא מרום רומי רקיעין, קלא עציב במרירו, מה דלא הוה הכי מן יומא דאתברון עלמין

וההוא קלא יהא דקיק, בחשאי, במרירו, ונציבו, נחית וסליק, סליק ונחית...
The English translation can be found in bold in Gilui's post here.  Gilui has a theory that combines the 2 opinions of how to calculate Yovel, which would make the last Yovel 5727 and the next one 5776 (see his spreadsheet). 

He notes that 5727 is close to Shemitta and is 274 years from the end of the millennium.

My take on it is that 5775 is a Shemitta year and is 274 years from when זרח שמשא (i.e. 5501, the year of sunrise).  The next year, 5776, is a Yovel year (according to Gilui's spreadsheet), which may not be exactly כחדא, but perhaps that's what is meant by כחדא.

Right before 5775 comes, we will have our 4th reading of the Haftara of Pinehas in 9 years, which will be the last reading in 21 years.  And that will come right before Shemitta, which comes right before Yovel.  This is when the thin, small voice will be heard.

Frum Woman Faces 93 Days in Jail For Front Yard Vegetable Garden

According to MyFoxDetroit.com (see the video there):
OAK PARK, Mich. (WJBK) - "The price of organic food is kind of through the roof," said Julie Bass.

So, why not grow your own? However, Bass' garden is a little unique because it's in her front yard.

"We thought it'd be really cool to do it so the neighbors could see. The kids love it. The kids from the neighborhood all come and help," she said.

Bass' cool garden has landed her in hot water with the City of Oak Park. Code enforcement gave her a warning, then a ticket and now she's been charged with a misdemeanor.

"I think it's sad that the City of Oak Park that's already strapped for cash is paying a lot of money to have a prosecutor bothering us," Bass told FOX 2's Alexis Wiley.

"That's not what we want to see in a front yard," said Oak Park City Planner Kevin Rulkowski.

Why? The city is pointing to a code that says a front yard has to have suitable, live, plant material. The big question is what's "suitable?"

We asked Bass whether she thinks she has suitable, live, plant material in her front yard.

"It's definitely live. It's definitely plant. It's definitely material. We think it's suitable," she said.

The Case for a 5772-Based Geula - Part 9

And we will bring down the words of the Zohar (Vayikra 16a) who expounds the verse צַדִּיק, כַּתָּמָר יִפְרָח [The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree] and it appears that the classification of "Sof Galuta" - the end of the exile to refer to the end of Tammuz, 5751 is still not a classification for the coming of Mashiah [YY - see Gilui who also made this distinction] and there is a process that starts from the classification of the end of the exile and afterwards, the coming of Mashiah, and afterwards, the Ressurection of the Dead, and afterwards, the seventh millennium, and afterwards, a new heavens and earth. And this is the wording of the Zohar:
" צדיק כתמר יפרח", על גלותא דבבל אתמר וכו', "כארז בלבנון ישגא", בגלותא בתראה, הוא כהאי ארז דאתעכב לסלקאה, ומשעתא דסליק עד דקאים בקיומיה, הוא יומא ושירותא דיומא אחרינא, עד דעביד צל בנהורא דיממא. "שתולים בבית ה'", לזמנא דמלכא משיחא, "בחצרות אלהינו יפריחו", בתחיית המתים, "עוד ינובון בשיבה", בההוא יומא דישתכח עלמא חרוב, "דשנים ורעננים יהיו", לבתר, דכתיב "השמים החדשים והארץ החדשה.
And really, we will see later from the words of the Zohar and the words of the Gr"a that the coming of Mashiah connects to a date at the end of 5772, while some push it off until 5775. That is, that according to all the opinions, in 5772, the light of Redemption will begin to shine and satiation will come to Israel, but the coming of Mashiah Ben David will be - according to the majority of opinions - at the end of 5772, and according to some of the opinions, the year after the Shemitta year of 5775 as we will explain. Of course, all these are dates of a Be'itah Redemption if the Jewish Nation does not merit, and at these dates, he is already obligated to come. And if the Jewish Nation merits, he will come immediately, as is brought down in the gemara (Sanhedrin 98a) "If they merit, I will hasten it".

[YY - The following was brought in Part 3, but the author is adding more information.]And it is also implied from the "Etz Hayim" by the Ariza"l (Sha'ar 50, end of chapter 3) that in the year 5775, there will be a filtration in this world which is called "The Tree of Knowledge" between good and evil, and the good will separate from the evil, and we will bring his words:
Also, with this, you can understand the matter of the exile which is 1000 days of "weekday". And the idea is that there are 5 "Hesed"s, each one made of 100 parts, which equals 500 like the gematria of כתף ימין [right shoulder] and there are 5 "Gevurot" like the gematria of כתף שמאל [left shoulder] - altogether, 1000. And when they were in the Tree of Knowledge, it was called 1000 days of "weekday", since there is the good and evil, which is grain and straw. And the exile is having these 1000 placed there inside the evil that is there. And since the revelation of Hasadim and Gevurot inside the Ze'eir Anpin is from the chest down, which contains Netzah, Hod, Yesod, which is called the "hooks of the pillars", therefore, these mirror the holiness [from this verse] וְאֶת-הָאֶלֶף וּשְׁבַע הַמֵּאוֹת, וַחֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים, עָשָׂה וָוִים, לָעַמּוּדִים [And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars], and understand this. For there is only hold on the Tree of Knowledge in its revealed part, and this is the Sod of כָּל-הַיּוֹם דָּוָה [faint all the day] - 1000 years.
That is that the verse וְאֶת-הָאֶלֶף וּשְׁבַע הַמֵּאוֹת, וַחֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים, עָשָׂה וָוִים, לָעַמּוּדִים [And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars] hints to the fifth millennium, which is in the Sod of כָּל-הַיּוֹם דָּוָה [faint all the day], plus another 775 years in the sixth millennium (in the Sod of the ווים לעמודים [hooks of the pillars], as the number 6 is in the aspect of ו"ו and a pillar, as is known), where the Kelipa has a hold on, and there is a mixture of both good and evil. And in the year 5775, the good will separate from the evil. And this must be at a period after the Mashiah comes and he will fight against evil and separate it from the good.

And it's also brought down in the book "Konanta Me'az":
I heard from my grandfather, the pious, famous Rav Yehuda Aryeh Leib Tziviak ZT"L, who told over when he was living in Warsaw that he heard from the elders - the Hasidim of the Rasha"b - ZY"A, who told over about a Hasid who received an Aliya to the Torah by the rabbi, the Ba'al Hatanya ZY"A on Parshat Pekudei, and the rabbi was reading the Torah. When he reached the verse וְאֶת-הָאֶלֶף וּשְׁבַע הַמֵּאוֹת, וַחֲמִשָּׁה וְשִׁבְעִים, עָשָׂה וָוִים, לָעַמּוּדִים [And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars], he heard from the holy rabbi that he said in a whisper that the year 1775 is the time that the coming of Mashiah will quickly be revealed. And afterwards, the Hasid related [to the rabbi] what he had heard from the rabbi's holy mouth. And when the Ba'al Hatanya heard this, he was insistant in the matter [and was not happy that this matter got revealed] and the other man did not finish the year [alive].
And it's possible that the Ba'al Hatanya hinted to the words of the Ar"i that in this year [5775], there is great advancement in the Redemption processes. And the man who heard this heard something about Mashiah, and he interpreted this as the coming of Mashiah, while according to the Zohar, the coming of Mashiah is must already come earlier.

And it's also brought down in the book "Vezeh Lecha Ha'ot" by Rav David Margalit, a student of the Ketav Sofer, that the process of Redemption will be from 5760 until 5775, and then, Mashiah Ben David will come. And there we see that he connects 5775 to the process of the 100 years of the Zohar, even though in the Zohar itself, it is written that this will be at the end of 5772, and not as he learns.

And really, according to the Mahara"l, it is possible to connect the 2 dates - because the Mahara"l (Netzah Yisrael 32) explains the gemara about Mashiah Ben David coming Motza'ei Shevi'it [as the Shemitta year is leaving] that already from the 4th year of the Shemitta cycle, the Redemption process begins. And the next Shemitta year - which should come upon us for good - will be in the year 5775. It comes out that already in the beginning of 5772, which is the 4th year [of the Shemitta cycle], the Redemption process begins. And we will quote his words:
For the coming of the Mashiah, in which there is a renewal of existence, will cause a loss of the original existence. And therefore, in the seven-year period that Mashiah Ben David comes, since it is close to the new existence, it therefore causes a loss of the original existence until the 3rd year, which is the epitome of loss. And in the fourth year, which is the middle of the seven-year period, [the gemara] says that it will be plentiful and not plentiful. This means that there is no complete existence until the fifth year, when there will be a complete existence due to the new existence that will be in the world. Therefore, in the fifth year, there will be great bounty. And this bounty is the completion of this world only. And in the sixth year, there will be sounds - when it will be close to the new existence that will exist in the world. And in the seventh, wars - for then is when the power of Israel will begin from the new existence that will occur in the world. And on Motza'ei Shevi'it, Mashiah Ben David will come.
And we will try to explain the words of the Mahara"l with the reality of our days (Sanhedrin 97a):
That is, that the plenty will start in the fourth year of the Shemitta cycle, and this is already connected to the existence of the Redemption. And according to how we earlier explained "וַתִּשְׂבַּע" that it hints to the year 5772 that it will be the Days of Mashiah, it [also] hints to the plenty and abundance of sustanance.

And Sanheiriv is actually Nimrod. And he himself in the future [will be] Gog Umagog.
And we find in Midrash (Bereishit Rabba 42:4)
[Nimrod] was called 3 names: Kush, Nimrod, and Amrafel. Kush because he was black ... Ribbi Elazar Bar Ravina said: if you see kingdoms provoking each other, expect the feet of Mashiah. I'll prove to you that this is so - because in the days of Avraham, through the kingdoms provoking each other, Redemption came to Avraham.
And we see that Gog is a Gilgul of Nimrod, who is black. And similarly, we see that just like Avraham defeated Nimrod and the other kings, so too, in the future, the Mashiah will defeat Gog and the other kings who are with him.

And Harav Hagaon R' Eliyahu Ben Hakun Shlit"a adds that the head of Gog Umagog is the head of all 70 nations. Therefore, Obama is both Christian and Muslim (Eisav and Yishmael), who are the 2 roots of all the nations - the Hesed and Gevura of the Kelipa. And also the Partufim of אבא אמה the roots of Hesed and Gevura of the Kelipa are hinted in his name.

We find in Midrash (Yalkut Yeshaya 499):
Ribbi Yitzhak said: The year that the King Mashiah will be revealed - all the kings of the nations will provoke each other. The king of Persia will provoke an Arab king and the Arab king will go Aram [aka Edom] to take advice from them, and the King of Persia will return and destroy the whole world.
And similarly, we find in the gemara (Sanhedrin 97b)
Ribbi Elazar says: "If Israel repents, they will be redeemed. If not, they will not be redeemed." Ribbi Yehoshua said to him, "If Israel does not repent, they will not be redeemed? Rather, HKB"H has a king rise up whose decrees are as harsh as Haman, and Israel will repent and he will bring them back to doing good.
We see that Haman, who is connected to the Kingdom of Persia returns at the time of the Future Redemption. And we also find in the Midrash that Mashiah Ben Yosef will be killed by Armilus the Wicked. And ארמילוס [Armilus] as the gematria of פרס [Persia - if you add the Kollel]. And Harav Hagaon R' Eliyahu Ben Hakun adds that the kingdom of Persia and Gog Umagog are hinted to in שמע ישראל ה' אלהינו ה' אחד [Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is one.] in the word שמע. The letters שמ of שמע have the gematria of פרס [Persia] while the letter ע of שמע hints to the 70 nations whose gematria is גוג ומגוג [Gog Umagog] who will come to wage war against Yerushalayim. And also שמע hints to Yishmael, as is brought down in the name of the Gr"a about Yishmael, which comes from the etymology of שמיעה [sound]. And this is similar to what is written (Bereishit 17:20) וּלְיִשְׁמָעֵאל, שְׁמַעְתִּיךָ [And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee].

And it is also known [YY - see here] that Harav Hagaon R' Shachna Zohn Shlit"a, a student of the Hafetz Hayim, publicized in 5768 that the Hafetz Hayim came to him twice in a dream and told him that he should publicize that the Redemption is very close. And also 772 is the gematria of the verse (Tehillim 102:14) אַתָּה תָקוּם, תְּרַחֵם צִיּוֹן: כִּי-עֵת לְחֶנְנָהּ, כִּי-בָא מוֹעֵד[Thou wilt arise, and have compassion upon Zion; for it is time to be gracious unto her, for the appointed time is come.] with the words and the Kollel. And it's the gematria of לבני בניהם למען שמו באהבה [to their sons' sons for the sake of His name - with love] with the letters and the Kollel. And also the verse אִם-שַׁנּוֹתִי בְּרַק חַרְבִּי [If I whet My glittering sword] with the letters and the Kollel.
Our rabbis learned in a Beraita:  The seven-year period within which Mashiah Ben David comes - the first year (5769), the following verse: וְהִמְטַרְתִּי עַל-עִיר אֶחָת, וְעַל-עִיר אַחַת לֹא אַמְטִיר [and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city] (in this year, an economic crisis started in the entire world except for the Land of Israel).  In the second year (5770), arrows of famine is sent (the economic crisis worsens).  In the third year (5771), great famine and the pious and men of action die (unfortunately, many Gedolim are dying - it should no longer occur).  In the fourth year (5772), abundance and not abundance (the existence of Redemption begins - like the words of the Mahara"l).  In the fifth year, great abundance, and we will eat, drink and be merry, and the Torah will return to those who study it.  In the sixth year, voices.  In the seventh year, wars.  After the seventh year, Mashiah Ben David comes.
And we similarly find in the Zohar that the Redemption will be amid the hardship of poverty.  And we will bring down its words (Tikkunim 53):
"וַיְּמַן ה' דָּג גָּדוֹל לִבְלֹעַ אֶת יוֹנָה", דָּא עֲנִיּוּתָא, דְּאִיהוּ עֶצֶב, וְנוּקְבָא דִּילֵיהּ עִצָּבוֹן, דְּכוּרָא דָּג נוּקְבָא דָּגָה, דָּא הוּא "וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל יוֹנָה אֶלה' אֱלֹקָי"ו מִמְּעֵי הַדָּגָה", מִכַּפְנָא דַּעֲנִיּוּתָא דְּמָטֵי לְמֶעוֹי דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּהַהוּא זִמְנָא "וַיֹּאמֶר ה' לַדָּג וַיָּקֵא אֶת יוֹנָה", בְּדוֹחְקָא דְּדַאֲגָה דִּילְהוֹן דְּדוֹאֲגִין מִן עֲנִיּוּתָא, מִדּוֹחְקָא יִפְקוּן מִן גָּלוּתָא, הֲדָא הוּא דִּכְתִיב "וְאֶת עַם עָנִי תּוֹשִׁיעַ".
And it is similarly brought down in the name of the Kotzker Rebbe, "When the Jewish people will be very much bothered from the worry of sustenance, then Mashiah comes."  And it is similarly brought down in the name of Rav Yisrael of Ruzhin ("Ner Yisrael" - entry "Hevlei Mashiah").  And something similar to this is brought down in the name of the Ohev Yisrael (Yalkut Ohev Yisrael) "that a few years before Mashiah comes, there will be abundance of sustanance to Israel, and afterwards, the sustenance will get bad again, and from the large amount of hardships, Mashiah will come."  And also, the text of the prayer [that is said on Shabbat morning] שועת עניים אתה תשמע [the prayers of the impoverished, You hear] has the Rashei Teivot of תשע"א [=the year 5771].
ונביא את דברי הזהר (ויקרא טז.) שדורש את הפסוק של "צדיק כתמר יפרח וגו'", ונראה שההגדרה סוף גלותא על סוף תמוז
תשע"א היא עדיין לא הגדרה לביאת המשיח, ויש תהליך שמתחיל מההגדרה של סוף הגלות, ואחר כך ביאת המשיח, ואחר
כך תחית המתים, ואחר כך האלף השביעי, ואחר כך שמים וארץ חדשים. וזה לשון הזהר "צדיק כתמר יפרח", על גלותא דבבל
אתמר וכו', "כארז בלבנון ישגא", בגלותא בתראה, הוא כהאי ארז דאתעכב לסלקאה, ומשעתא דסליק עד דקאים בקיומיה,
הוא יומא ושירותא דיומא אחרינא, עד דעביד צל בנהורא דיממא. "שתולים בבית ה'", לזמנא דמלכא משיחא, "בחצרות
אלהינו יפריחו", בתחיית המתים, "עוד ינובון בשיבה", בההוא יומא דישתכח עלמא חרוב, "דשנים ורעננים יהיו", לבתר,
דכתיב "השמים החדשים והארץ החדשה. ובאמת נראה לקמן מדברי הזהר ומדברי הגר"א שביאת המשיח מתחברת לתאריך של
סוף תשע"ב, ויש שמרחיקים עד תשע"ה, היינו שלפי כל השיטות בתשע"ב יתחיל להאיר האור של הגאולה ויתחיל לבא שובע
לישראל, אבל ביאת בן דוד תהיה לפי רוב השיטות בסוף תשע"ב, ולפי חלק מהשיטות רק במוצאי שמיטה של שנת תשע"ה כפי
שנבאר. כמובן כל אלו הם תאריכים של גאולת בעיתה שאם עם ישראל לא יזכו, ובתאריכים אלו כבר חייב לבוא, ואם עם ישראל
יזכו יבוא מיד כמובא בגמרא (סנהדרין צח.) זכו "אחישנה".
משמע מה'עץ חיים' להאריז"ל (שער נ' סוף פ"ג). שבשנת תשע"ה שהיא שנת שמיטה, יהיה בירור בעולם הזה הנקרא עץ הדעת, בין הטוב
לרע, והטוב יפרד מהרע, ונביא את לשונו. גם בזה תבין ענין הגלות שהוא אלף יומין דחול, והענין כי הם ה' חסדים כל
אחד כלול מק' הרי ת"ק כמנין כת"ף ימין, וה' גבורות כמנין כתף שמאל, הרי אלף, ובהיותן בעץ הדעת נקרא אלף יומין דחול, יען
כי שם הוא טוב ורע שהם בר ותבן, והגלות הוא היות אלו האלף נתונים שם תוך הרע אשר שם ולהיות כי גילוי החסדים
וגבורות תוך ז"א הוא מהחזה ולמטה אשר שם נה"י הנקרא ווי עמודים, לכן אלו הם דוגמת הקדושה "ואת האלף ושבע המאות
וחמשה ושבעים עשה ווים לעמודים", והבן זה. כי אין אחיזת עץ הדעת אלא במקום הגלוי וזה סוד "כל היום דוה" אלף שנין.
היינו שהפסוק "ואת האלף ושבע המאות וחמשה ושבעים עשה ווים לעמודים", מרמז על האלף החמישי שהוא בסוד "כל היום
דוה", ועוד שבע מאות שבעים וחמשה שנים באלף השישי [בסוד ה"ווים לעמודים", דמספר שש הוא בבחינת ו"ו ועמוד כידוע]. שבהם
יש אחיזה לקליפה, ויש עירוב טוב ורע, ובשנת ה' אלפים תשע"ה יפרדו הטוב מהרע. וזה חייב להיות תקופה לאחר שיבא המשיח
וילחם ברע ויפרידו מהטוב. וכן מובא בספר 'כוננת מאז' שמעתי מזקני הרה"ח המפורסם ר' יהודה אריה לייב ציוויאק זצ"ל
שסיפר שבהיותו גר בורשא שמע מזקני חסידי הרש"ב זי"ע שסיפרו על חסיד אחד שעלה לתורה אצל הרב בעל
התניא זי"ע בפרשת פקודי והרב היה הקורא בתורה, כשהגיע הרב לפסוק "ואת האלף ושבע מאות וחמשה ושבעים
עשה ווים לעמודים וגו", שמע מהרה"ק שאומר בלחישא ששנת "אלף שבע מאות וחמשה ושבעים" הוא זמן ביאת
משיח במהרה יגלה, ואחר כך סיפר החסיד מה ששמע מפה קדשו, וכששמע בעל התניא הקפיד בדבר ולא הוציא
הלה את שנתו. ויתכן שהבעל התניא רמז על דברי האר"י שיש בשנה זו התקדמות גדולה בתהליכי הגאולה, והשומע שמע משהו על
משיח, ופירש את זה כביאת המשיח, ולפי דברי הזהר ביאת המשיח כבר חייבת להיות קודם. וכן מובא בספר 'וזה לך האות' מהרב דוד
מרגלית תלמיד הכתב סופר שיהיה תהליך של גאולה מתש"ס עד תשע"ה, ואז יבא בן דוד, ושם רואים שהוא מחבר את תשע"ה לתהליך
של המאה שנה של הזהר, אף על פי שבזהר עצמו כתוב שזה יהיה בסוף תשע"ב ולא כפי שהוא למד.
ובאמת לפי דברי המהר"ל אפשר לחבר את שתי התאריכים, דהמהר"ל (נצח ישראל לב) מבאר את הגמרא על מוצאי שביעית בן דוד בא,
שכבר מהשנה הרביעית של השמיטה מתחיל תהליך הגאולה. והשמיטה הבעל"ט תהיה בשנת תשע"ה, יוצא שכבר בתחילת
תשע"ב שהיא השנה הרביעית מתחיל תהליך הגאולה. ונביא את דבריו כי ביאת המשיח, שבו התחדשות הויה, יגרום הפסד
הויה הראשונה. ולפיכך בשבוע שבן דוד בא, מפני שהוא קרוב אל ההויה החדשה, לכך הוא גורם הפסד הויה
הראשונה, עד שנה שלישית, הוא תכלית הפסד. וברביעי, שהוא באמצע השבוע, אמר שיהיה שובע ואינו שובע.
רוצה לומר, שאין כאן הויה שלימה עד השנה החמישית, שאז יהיה הויה שלימה מכח ההויה החדשה שתהיה בעולם.
לכך בחמישית שובע גדול. והשובע הוא שלימות עולם הזה בלבד. ובששית קולות, כאשר הוא קרוב אל הויה
החדשה שתהיה בעולם. ובשביעית מלחמות, כי אז יתחיל כח ישראל מכח ההויה החדשה שתחול בעולם. ובמוצאי
שביעית בן דוד בא. היינו שהשובע מתחיל בשנה הרביעית לשמיטה, וזה שייך כבר להויית הגאולה. וכפי שבארנו לעיל את הפסוק
"וַתִּשְׂבַּע" שמרמז עַל שְׁנַת תשע"ב שֶׁתִּהְיֶה יְמוֹת הַמָּשִׁיחַ, וּמְרַמֵּז עַל שובע ושֶׁפַע פַּרְנָסָה.

מובא במגלה עמוקות (קפא) והיה סנחריב ממש נמרוד. והוא בעצמו לעתיד לבא גוג ומגוג. ומצינו במדרש (ב"ר מב ד) ג' שמות
נקראו לו כוש ונמרוד ואמרפל, כוש שהיה כושי ודאי, וכו'. אמר רבי אלעזר בר אבינא אם ראית מלכיות מתגרות
אלו באלו צפה לרגלו של משיח תדע שכן שהרי בימי אברהם על ידי שנתגרו המלכיות אלו באלו באה הגאולה לאברהם.
ורואים שגוג הוא גלגול נמרוד שהיה כושי. וכן רואים שכמו שאברהם ניצח את נמרוד ואת שאר המלכים, כך לעתיד לבא המשיח
ינצח את גוג ושאר המלכים שיהיו איתו.

והוסיף הרה"ג ר' אליהו בן הקון שליט"א שהראש של גוג ומגוג הוא הראש של כל השבעים אומות, לכן אובאמה הוא גם נוצרי וגם
מוסלמי, [עשו וישמעאל], שהם ב' השרשים של כל האומות, חסד וגבורה דקליפה. וכן פרצופי אבא אמה שרשי החסד
וגבורה דקליפה נרמזים בשמו.

מָצִינוּ בַּמִּדְרָשׁ (ילקוט ישעי' תצט) אָמַר רַבִּי יִצְחָק שָׁנָה שֶׁמֶּלֶךְ הַמָּשִׁיחַ נִגְלָה בּוֹ, כָּל מַלְכֵי אֻמּוֹת הָעוֹלָם מִתְגָּרִים זֶה
בָּזֶה, מֶלֶךְ פָּרַס מִתְגָּרֶה בְּמֶלֶךְ עַרְבִי, וְהוֹלֵךְ מֶלֶךְ עַרְבִי לַאֲרָם לִיטוֹל עֵצָה מֵהֶם, וְחוֹזֵר מֶלֶךְ פָּרַס וּמַחֲרִיב

The Case for a 5772-Based Geula - Part 8

And I also heard from Moreinu Harav Hagaon Rav Yaakov Abutbol Shlit"a that Rebbe Nahman writes in Sefer Hamidot (Emuna 51) that Mashiah will come בשנת ברכה [in a year of blessing]. And from the end of the year 5772, there remains the gematria of ברכה [which =227]years until the end of the sixth millennium. And also, יבא בשנת [he will come in the year] plus the letters and the Kollel has the gematria of 772.  And it is also hinted in the writing that the Ariza"l brings down regarding the Keitz of the Redemption [where the verse says]וַיְהִי, מִקֵּץ שְׁנָתַיִם יָמִים [And it came to pass at the end of two full years] that the gematria of מקץ [which =230] minus "two full years" [=228] from end of the millennium brings us to the year 5772.

We found in the gemara (Megilla 17b) about the Amida prayer that first, we pray for Yerushalayim, and afterwards, we pray for the sprout of David, and afterwards, for prayer, service, and thanksgiving - because this will be the order of the Redemption. First, they will build Yerushalayim. Then, there will be a sprouting of David and the coming of Mashiah. Then, they will merit to the Beit Hamikdash and prayer, service, and thanksgiving. And we will bring the wording of the gemara there:
And once Yerushalayim is built, David comes, as it says אַחַר, יָשֻׁבוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וּבִקְשׁוּ אֶת-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם, וְאֵת דָּוִיד מַלְכָּם [afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king]. And once David comes, prayer comes, as it says וַהֲבִיאוֹתִים אֶל-הַר קָדְשִׁי, וְשִׂמַּחְתִּים בְּבֵית תְּפִלָּתִי [Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer]. And once prayer comes, service comes, as it says עוֹלֹתֵיהֶם וְזִבְחֵיהֶם לְרָצוֹן, עַל-מִזְבְּחִי [their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar]. And once service comes, thanksgiving comes, as it says זֹבֵחַ תּוֹדָה, יְכַבְּדָנְנִי [Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving honoureth Me].

In the Malbim (Yehezkel 38:7) [, he writes] that the Gog Umagog War will be a war between Edom and Yishmael. A coalition of Ishamelites, who are Paras, Kush, Put, etc. ... And You will guard them (Am Yisrael in the Land of Israel) from doing evil because at the time that the Ishmaelites will harm Yerushalayim, the Edomites will rise up against them and kill them. And from this, it will come about that afterwards, they will kill the Edomites, and there will be bloodshed one with another.

It's brought down in the Malbim (Daniel 2:44) that in the Gog Umagog Wars, all the children of Edom will gather to fight against the children of Yishmael and they will destroy each other, as is clear from Yehezkel and Zecharia. And instead of the kingdom of the children of Yishmael, it will then be Media and Persia.

It's brought in the Malbim (Yoel 4:9) that in the future, the nations of Edom will be aroused to capture the Land of Israel and enact a great massacre of the children of Egypt, who have the beliefs (?) of the Ishmaelites, and then, the Ishmaelites will be aroused to take revenge for their brothers from the Edomites and will kill among them a great massacre and destruction, nd the Edomites will return again to fight with the children of Yishmael and kill among them.

Harav Hagaon Rav Yosef Scheinberger Shlit"a [said] that the verse (Bemidbar 11:27) וַיֹּאמַר: אֶלְדָּד וּמֵידָד, מִתְנַבְּאִים בַּמַּחֲנֶה [and said: 'Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.'] - the gematria of the Rashei Teivot is the same as אובאמה [Obama]. And it's brought down in the "Targum Yonatan" and the Targum Yerushalmi that Eldad prophecied that Moshe would die and Yehoshua would bring [them into the Land of Israel]. And Meidad prophesied about the quail. And they both prophesied about Gog Umagog. And we will bring the exact wording [of the Targum]:
Eldad was prophesying and said that Moshe is being gathered in from the world [i.e. dying] while Yehoshua who is serving as his servant will stand in his stead and take the nation of the House of Israel and bring them up to the Land of Canaan and bequeath the land to them. Meidad was prophesying and saying that this quail will come up from the sea and cover the entire camp of Israel and will be the ruin of the nation. However, they both prophesied as one and said that a king would come up from the Land of Magog at the End of Days and gather kings adorned with crowns and governors who wear coats of mail, and all the nations will listen to him and arrange a war in the Land of Israel over the children of the Diaspora and their corpses will fall over the mountains of the Land of Israel.
And also אֶלְדָּד וּמֵידָד מִתְנַבְּאִים בַּמַּחֲנֶה ['Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.'] is the gematria of 773 with the letters and Kollel, as 5773 is the year of the Gog Umagog War.

And I also heard in the name of Harav Hagaon Rav Tzvi Meir Zilberberg Shlit"a who said in the name of Rav Elhanan Wasserman ZT"L that in the year 5700, the birthpangs of Mashiah began.  And it's also brought down in the book "Orhot Rabbeinu" quoting the author of the "Kehilot Yaakov" (vol. 1, p. 287) that in the Holocaust, we passed the majority of the suffering of the birthpangs of Mashiah.  And I also heard in the name of the Gaon Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv Shlit"a that there is a tradition from the Gr"a that the Hurva Shul of Ribbi Yehuda Hehasid in Yerushalayim will be built before the building of the Beit Hamikdash, and this has been fulfilled in our days. The verse (Vayikra 12:2) אִשָּׁה כִּי תַזְרִיעַ, וְיָלְדָה [If a woman be delivered, and bear] in gematria is 772. And also the verse (Shemot 40:25) וַיַּעַל הַנֵּרֹת, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה [And he lighted the lamps before the LORD] has the gematria of 771, and 772 with the Kollel. And also the verse that speaks of the bringing of the Minha offering (Vayikra 2:2) וְקָמַץ מִשָּׁם מְלֹא קֻמְצוֹ מִסָּלְתָּהּ [and he shall take thereout his handful of the fine flour thereof] in gematria is 771. And also the verse מִנֶּגֶד; וּפָחַדְתָּ לַיְלָה וְיוֹמָם [before thee; and thou shalt fear night and day] in gematria is 772. And also the verse that is said about the mate of Adam Harishon (Bereishit 2:18) אֶעֱשֶׂה-לּוֹ עֵזֶר, כְּנֶגְדּוֹ [I will make him a help meet for him] is the gematria of 772. And also the verse (Bemidbar 28:9) וּבְיוֹם, הַשַּׁבָּת [And on the sabbath day] has the gematria of 771 and 772 with the Kollel. And also אבן השתיה [foundation stone] has a gematria of 773. And also (Tehillim 46:5) פְּלָגָיו, יְשַׂמְּחוּ עִיר [the streams whereof make glad the city] in gematria is 773. And also the verse (Tehillim 119:18) גַּל-עֵינַי וְאַבִּיטָה-- נִפְלָאוֹת, מִתּוֹרָתֶךָ [Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.] in gematria is 773. And also King David hinted to the Keitz of the Redemption in Chapter 73 of Tehillim in the verse עַד-אָבוֹא, אֶל-מִקְדְּשֵׁי-אֵל; אָבִינָה, לְאַחֲרִיתָם [Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.] as is brought down in the Targum Yonatan there.

וכן שמעתי מהרה"ג ר' יעקב אבוטבול שליט"א שרבי נחמן כותב בספר המידות (אמונה נא) משיח יבוא בשנת ברכה. ומסוף שנת תשע"ב נשאר ברכ"ה שנים עד סוף האלף השישי. ומרומז גם בכתוב שהאריז"ל מביא על קץ הגאולה, "וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ שְׁנָתַיִם יָמִים" דמספר "מִקֵּץ" פחות "שְׁנָתַיִם יָמִים" מסוף האלף מגיע לשנת תשע"ב.

 במלבי"ם (יחזקאל לח ז) שמלחמת גוג ומגוג תהיה מלחמה של אדום בישמעאל. קהלת הישמעאלים שהם פרס כוש ופוט וכו', ואתה תשמור אותם [את עם ישראל בארץ ישראל] מעשות רע, כי בעת יתחילו ישמעאלים להרע בירושלים יקומו האדומים נגדם ויהרגו אותם, ומזה יסתובב שאחר כך יהרגו הם באדומים ויהיה חרב איש באחיו.

מובא במלבי"ם (דניאל ב מד) מלחמות גוג ומגוג שיתקבצו כל בני אדום להלחם נגד בני ישמעאל ויכלו זה את זה כמבואר ביחזקאל ובזכריה, ותחת מלכות בני ישמעאל יהיו אז מדי ופרס.

מובא במלבי"ם ( יואל ד ט) לעתיד יתעוררו אומות אדום לכבוש את הארץ ויעשו הרג רב בבני מצרים שהם מאמונות הישמעאלים, ואז יתעוררו הישמעאלים לקחת נקמת אחיהם מיד האדומים ויהרגו בם הרג רב ואבדון, ויחזרו האדומיים שנית להלחם עם בני ישמעאל ויהרגו בם.

ומובא שם בתרגום יונתן ובתרגום ירושלמי שאלדד התנבא שמשה מת ויהושע מכניס. ומידד התנבא על השלו. ושניהם יחד התנבאו על גוג ומגוג. ונביא את לשונו. אלדד הוה מתנבי ואמר הא משה מתכניש מן עלמא ויהושוע בר נון משמש משריתא קאי מן בתריה ומדבר עמא בית ישראל ומיעל יתהון לארע כנענאי ומחסין יתה להון. מידד הוה מתנבי ואמר הא סלוי סלקין מן ימא וחפיין כל משריתא דישראל ויהוי לעמא לתוקלא. ברם תריהון כחדא מתנבין ואמרין הא מלכא סליק מן ארעא דמגוג בסוף יומיא, ומכנש מלכין קטרי תגין ואפרכין לובשי שריונין, וכל עממיא ישתמעון ליה ומסדרין קרבא בארעא דישראל על בני גלותא, ונפלין פגריהון על טווריא דארעא דישראל. וכן "אֶלְדָּד וּמֵידָד מִתְנַבְּאִים בַּמַּחֲנֶה" בגימטריא תשע"ג עם האותיות והכולל. ותשע"ג היא השנה של מלחמת גוג ומגוג.

וכן שמעתי בשם הרה"ג ר' צבי מאיר זילברברג שליט"א שאמר בשם ר' אלחנן וסרמן זצ"ל שבשנת ת"ש התחילו חבלי משיח. וכן שמעתי בשם הגרי"ש אלישיב שליט"א שיש מסורת מהגר"א שיבנו את חורבת רבי יהודה החסיד בירושלים קודם לבנין בית המקדש. ודבר התקיים בימינו.

The Case for a 5772-Based Geula - Vastly Updated



Above is the latest pdf from Rav Yekutiel Fish, detailing the hints from Torah Shebichtav and Torah SheBe'al Peh to a 5772-based Geula.

Parts 1-7 of the translation have been updated.  Some parts have more than doubled in size.  It is most definitely worth-while checking out the updates.  I've marked the updates in red.
