Ta'anit Esther Prayers

  • Rav Shteinman Shlit"a posted this note:
asking people to pray for Rav Elyashiv on Ta'anit Esther and Purim.  He quotes the Mishna Berura (119:12) who says that they said Selihot for the Maharil when he was ill - even in the middle of a blessing of the Amida, which is usually reserved for supplications of a public nature and not for the well-being of private individuals - since the well-being of the Maharil was a public request as many needed his Torah.  The implication from his words is that the same would apply to Rav Elyashiv Shlit"a.
  • Rav Lazer Brody says that 11AM on Ta'anit Esther, wherever you are, one should recite Psalms 28, 32, 79, 92, and 22.  Apparently, this is part of a world-wide prayer.
  • YWN reports that people will be sent to pray at the graves of Mordechai and Esther in Hamadan, Iran on Ta'anit Esther.
