Connection Between Draft Law and Rockets?

This is a big "I don't know".

I can tell you where it's being discussed:

1) Israeli Yated Ne'eman headline

2) Kol Berama radio (from YWN)
Bennett:
...

The bill passed three readings and it is law so let’s deal with the reality. I am on my way to Sderot after 60 rockets fell there.

Kol Berama:

Amazing that it occurred today. Wouldn’t you agree?

Bennett:

Avi please, ...
3) As a comment on Rafi's blog

Again, I don't know, but I do know that after a cease fire, the rockets have continued.

May Hashem protect His people with the Zechut of continued Limud Hatorah and via the IDF.

2 Kings
Tanakh, Jewish Publication Society

...And he said: 'It is Elijah the Tishbite.'

1:9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him; and, behold, he sat on the top of the hill. And he spoke unto him: `O man of God, the king hath said: Come down.'

1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty: 'If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty.' And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:11 And again he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him: 'O man of God, thus hath the king said: Come down quickly.'

1:12 And Elijah answered and said unto them: 'If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty.'...

Even I can see the connection, when the Army comes for the man/men of ELoHIM fire/war comes...

Anonymous, good comment. That the MK's pushing for this wicked law are Erev Rav, we can understand why they're doing this; but that so many Jews who comment on so many sites, still have this sort of hatred for the chareidim is not only sickening but one has to ask, where did they lose their Jewish neshamas? Just hoping they wake up and do teshuvah and realize that they were under some kind of evil spell for these past centuries.

We need to stop viewing them as foreign and see them as brothers. Israel needs both the army and Torah learning

Actually the 60 rockets came because of the 60 myriads of hareidim that gathered in Jerusalem and said as one, "We will not enlist in the IDF under any circumstances."

BTW, ever since the law was passed rain is finally falling as it should, ketikunam.

What about the blessing of rain Israel is experiencing??
What will you attribute that to??

I think this is all very short-sighted. In my view, since it came on the fast day which normally is held on the 13th of Adar - that infamous date when Amalek intended our annihilation - there is more of a connection to Parshat Zachor than anything else, as I explained here.

The atzeret tefillah is old news. Move on. Events are going to be rolling faster than we can keep up.

Cosmic,

Perhaps, the rockets should have come last week then.

Cosmic and Neshama,

The rain is very good. However, as Debka pointed out:

"The day was overcast and rainy, which the Palestinian terrorists judged would obviate Israeli Air Force retaliation."

So, yes, thank Hashem for the rain, but are they really Gishmei Beracha? I don't know.

Devash, it started the day before the fast day, but your connection is still valid.

And Cosmic, BTW,

The declaration not to join the IDF under any circumstances - I may not agree with in principle, but I totally understand it in context. It is a tactical move against Lapid, showing him that Kol Keli Yutzar Alayich Lo Yutzlah - everything he will do against Torah will backfire on him.

Actually, it started less than an hour before sunset ON the fast day, which, as you know, began at sunset even though the fast itself did not begin until morning.

There is absolutely no way to calculate that any rain in a dry winter here is anything less than a bracha.

Sorry, I forgot to add, that the atzeret tefillah is getting credit for the end of the drought because part of the prayers included the prayer for rain.

Imho, anyone who could conceivably think that the Erev Rav's successful attempt to strike a blow against yiddishkeit in Eretz Yisrael can be a conduit for blessing is seriously out of touch with Torah reality.

Exactly, as Devash just wrote. It makes all the sense in the world that the rain came because of the Atzeret Tefilah. No question.

HaShem will eventually reveal the purpose for the continual and gradual changes to Israeli society.
