The face of the generation is like the face of a dog

The writer says: One who provides merit to the masses - Rav Yehuda Beracha Shlit"a - the author of the book "כנשר יעיר קנו" and an avid reader of this newsletter - sent us words that are true and profound, some of which we already brought down in previous newsletters from the mouths of hidden Tzaddikim, but because of their importance, we will bring them down again:

Recent events have come to inform us that we are close to The Great and Awesome Day which is the day of greeting the face of Mashiah Tzidkenu.  And the explanation is like this:  Since MBD is not permitted to redeem us when the proper repentance is lacking in Am Yisrael, therefore, HKB"H brings us these events in order to awaken us in Teshuva.  And so have Haza"l said: (Sanhedrin 97b) "Rav said: 'All the endtimes have finished and the matter is only dependent on repentance and good deeds.'"  And HKB"H chose Yishmael to be the rod that smites Am Yisrael because they are the children of Avraham Avinu and also because they are circumcised (Rav Hayim Vital in the book Etz Hada'at Tov [quoted translation here]).  And so have Haza"l said in Pirkei deRibbi Eliezer that the children of Yishmael are destined to cause desolation to Am Yisrael in the End of Days before the Redemption until all cry out וישמע א-ל - and Hashem hears their cries.  And this is why Yishmael is called by this name to inform us about his deeds that will occur at the End of Days that all will cry out וישמע א-ל - and Hashem hears their cries.

However, unfortunately, instead of waking up the nation to repentance and to know that it is not the Arod who kills but it is the sin that kills and the Ishmaelites are messengers of G-d, the heads of the government and their friends sit and blame each other for the volcanic eruption of the current intifada. There are even some who know to clearly decide: that those who go up to Har Habayit are guilty for everything because they ignite the passions of the Arabs!

However, both these and those are blinded from seeing and from contemplating and saying the truth - that the guilt is only in us - that our numerous sins caused these things and the children of Yishmael are messengers of G-d. And Haza"l already prophesied this strange behavior, and so they said (Sanhedrin 97a) about the generation of the coming of Mashiah: "The face of the generation is like the face of a dog." And the Hafetz Hayim (Al Hatorah, Parshat Hukat, p. 209) explained: Among the natural behaviors of a dog is that if you stone him with a rod, he immediately falls over the rod to bite it and not the thrower. Similarly, during Ikveta Dimshiha, at the time that HKB"H smites Am Yisrael, instead of contemplating the One smiting (Who is HKB"H) and asking why He is doing this, they think, "How can we defeat the messengers who are hitting?..."

Indeed, I heard this week from the Admo"r Ribbi David Abuhatzeira Shlit"a who said in the name of his grandfather the Baba Sali ZY"A: that before Mashiah comes, HKB"H will make it that in Eretz Yisrael there will be a terrible fear which will bring Am Yisrael to a state of no choice and this will force them to repent, and then, Mashiah Tzidkeinu will come since Israel is only redeemed with repentance!


Trustworthy Testimony

The writer says: I accepted trustworthy testimony this week from Rav Yitzhak Yefuneh Shlit"a from Bnei Brak who told me that this week (on Tuesday), he went up to the home of the Gaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit"a and relayed to him a question that his aunt who lives in the U.S. requested of him to ask Rav Chaim Kanievsky: "Since she heard recently in the name of the rav that Mashiah is coming and she has an entire family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the U.S., what should she be doing?"

Rav Chaim Kanievsky answered (an exact quote [translated]): "Tell her to make Aliya to Eretz Yisrael!"

I asked, "And if her husband won't agree to this?"

Rav Chaim Kanievsky: "He'll agree, he'll agree. Tell her that immediately Mashiah is coming!"
