Don't Start Shouting "In Trump We Trust"

President-elect Trump tweeted:

We cannot continue to let Israel be treated with such total disdain and disrespect. They used to have a great friend in the U.S., but.......

not anymore. The beginning of the end was the horrible Iran deal, and now this (U.N.)! Stay strong Israel, January 20th is fast approaching!

Of course, Mr. Trump is 10,000x better than the Rasha we currently have in the White House.  However, as Jews, we don't start believing in flesh and blood for our salvation.  The verse we say daily says:

ג  אַל-תִּבְטְחוּ בִנְדִיבִים--    בְּבֶן-אָדָם, שֶׁאֵין לוֹ תְשׁוּעָה.

3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Rather, as we are saying in Hallel during Hanukka:

ט  יִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּטַח בַּיהוָה;    עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא.	9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
י  בֵּית אַהֲרֹן, בִּטְחוּ בַיהוָה;    עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא.	10 O house of Aaron, trust ye in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
יא  יִרְאֵי יְהוָה, בִּטְחוּ בַיהוָה;    עֶזְרָם וּמָגִנָּם הוּא.	11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.

The United Nations Resolution 2334, as I noted in a comment earlier, occurred on Friday of Parashat Vayeshev, corresponding to the Aliya in which Yosef was railroaded to jail on a trumped-up charge. We also know that Yosef stayed an extra 2 years in the prison dungeon for placing his trust in the chief butler instead of Hashem, as is noted by the first verse of Parashat Miketz.

Let's not make the same error as Yosef by trusting in a President Trump to get us out of this mess.  We only trust in HKB"H, Who can do wonders.

And just as when those 2 years were over, there was a sudden Geula for Yosef, with Hashem's help we will also merit a sudden Geula, but a much bigger one on a much grander scale.  Let's trust in Him so we don't have to wait at all.
