Trump on Zot Hanukka

Today's accomplishments for the President:

1) Freed Sholom Rubashkin (הודו לה' כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו)
2) Threatened nations that vote against the US's embassy move to Yerushalayim to cut off aid
3) Oh, and that's not including that little thing called Tax Reform passing both houses of Congress.

Not a bad day's work.

In the blink of an eye, so to speak.

I just read that he served 8 years 8 days in jail... but I can't find the day he actually went into jail so I can't verify that one.

What does Sholom Rubashkin's from prison mean for us?

In last week's parsha, we read, "Then Pharaoh sent [messengers] and summoned Yosef and they hurried him out of the dungeon." For everything there is a time. And when the designated time
arrives, Whether for good or for bad, Hashem does not delay by even a second. When the predetermined period that Yosef needed to be in prison came to an end, he was released immediately, without any delay, as it is written, 'And they hurried him out of the dungeon.'
So too, when the time for our Redemption arrives, and our
nations exile must end and the Mashiach must come, Hakadosh Baruch Hu will not delay it even an instant. We will not need to endure one moment of exile more than is necessary. Rather, He will
hurry us out of the dungeon of our exile - "Pis'om yavo" - and bring us back to our homeland - Eretz Yisrael. May it happen very soon!
The Chofeitz Chayim once pointed out regarding the coming of Eliyahu Hanavi that Hashem does not say, "Hineni eshlach - I will send in the future, but rather [as we find in Malachi 3:23], "Hineni
sholei'ach - l am sending." At all times, Eliyahu stands ready to come. He is prepared and waiting to fulfill his mission of announcing the Redemption of Israel. The matter depends only on us, for we need to
be ready to greet him. [Chafetz Chaim on the Torah volume 1, pages 167-168 (Israel Bookshop)]

If Hashem freed Rubashkin from prison, Moshiach's revelation is not far behind!

Amen - may our Geulah be in a blink of an eye, b'rachamim. The #8 is truly a supernatural number.

When I heard today about Rubashkin being freed, I was overjoyed to hear the good news; as atty. Lewin said, (he was his atty.) that his sentence was a great miscarriage of justice. Most others accused of the same thing got no more than a year or a slap on the wrist. Kudos to President Trump! May this just be the beginning of nissim and niflaot for bnai Yisrael.

I hate bursting people's bubbles, but it seems to me that this is just like the freedom of other Jews (e.g. Jonathan Pollard).

Unfortunately, Mr. Rubashkin is not completely free. It's still a breaking news story at this point.

"Trump’s action does not wipe clean Rubashkin’s conviction and leaves his term of supervised release and a restitution obligation, the White House said." This according to Algemeiner and Reuters. I haven't read all the other articles that have appeared this morning (Jlm time).

I will be more thankful when his name is cleared completely and he is treated like a free human being.

On December 20, 2017, Trump Tells Countries Favoring U.N. Resolution Against His Jerusalem Decision: I’ll Cut Off Your Financial Aid.

President Trump, who absolutely refuses to be bullied by countries around the world that are vilifying him for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, struck back.

The U.N. General Assembly is holding an emergency session on Thursday that was requested by Arab and Muslim countries to vote on a draft resolution calling for Trump to rescind his decision.

Trump let them have it with both barrels, asserting, “They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”

Firstly, we need to realize that “The heart of a king in is in the hand of Hashem” (Mishlei 21:1)

Secondly, why would Trump make such a bold statement to cut off financial aid from countries?

Two years ago, 15-year-old Nathan had a near death out of body experience, that took place on the first night of Sukkos (September 28th, 2015). He describes his experience exactly what is written by the prophets and in the holy books regarding the end of days. He stated the following:

“One of these days, the whole world will be involved in a war [see Zecharyah 13:8-9, Yeshayah 19:2 and Leiv Eliyahu, Shemos, (page 172) ‘וכעת בעיקבתא דמשיחא’] ... The person who will start the war will be somebody named Gog [see Medrash Tanchumah, Korach 12; Yechezkeil 38:18 and Medrash Tanchumah, Re’eh 9].

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRS9-riM1rQ

Despite that Rabbi Mizrachi says we don't know who Gog is, in speculation, it could be that Gog is Trump.

At first, everyone will fight over taking possession of Yerushalayim. Then the nations of the world will unite to fight against us...

Is Nathan making this up? No. Every year, on the first day of Sukkos, we read in the HafTarah:
“I will gather together all the nations to Yerushalayim for the war” (Zecharyah 14:2).

It seems to be that Hashem is instigating the nations of world to start the war that He spoke about through His prophet Zecharyah.
