I just realized that the North “Korea” sounds incredibly similar to the name of this week’s parasha: Korah
Got me thinking to investigate the lettering. Here‘s what I came across - not sure what it could mean, but perhaps you’d have a better idea:
Both share:
- Kuf, Resh
Different letters in Korea compared to Korah:
- Yud, Kay, Vav, Aleph (maybe the Aleph signifies HaShem’s Oneness?)
Also maybe the extra Chet in Korah signifies 8, as in the 8th year, aka 5778?

Korah, who started a Mahloket against Moshe and Aharon, had coldness x 8.
North Korea, who started a Mahaloket against South Korea, had coldness x 16.
But just as ובני קרח לא מתו, perhaps, Kim Jung Un will do Teshuva. Time will tell.
