Dear Rav Yaak,
I realize that my latest post probably doesn't deserve a place on your list this time; nevertheless, it is important that people read it.
Here is some background on why we see and hear what we see and hear on the news - and why most people have no idea who the "hilltop youth" are, why they exist and how important they are - and how others around the world can relate to them, on whatever level: "back to nature," "religious village" or whatever.
Does Our News Feed Free Us or Enslave Us?
I saw a comment recently (not here, thank G-d) that Israelis are put down as “dumbed down” because they don’t know these things. Could the same be said of American Jews as well? I hope this will help educate my countrymen and -women, as well as those in my former country, so that they can appreciate how far we have to rise before we can breathe free air.
