Ha'azinu Hints for Our Day

Meron

Devarim 32:20:

כ  וַיֹּאמֶר, אַסְתִּירָה פָנַי מֵהֶם--  {ר}  אֶרְאֶה, מָה אַחֲרִיתָם:  {ס}  כִּי דוֹר תַּהְפֻּכֹת הֵמָּה,  {ר}  בָּנִים לֹא-אֵמֻן בָּם.  {ס}

20 And He said: 'I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

Take the second-to-last letters and they somewhat spell out מֵרֹן - Meron. (One can alternatively also use the י from the last word of the previous verse.)  

Hashem hid His face from those in Meron.  What did Hashem say?  אראה מה אחריתם - "I will see that their end will be that the מה - the 45 tzaddikim - will have perished there."

But they didn't die for themselves.  They died as a kapparah for the Dor - the backward generation, where we lack proper Emunah.  This is the generation before the coming of Mashiah, where the gemara in Sotah says that the children will despise their elders.

Devarim 32:35:

לה  לִי נָקָם וְשִׁלֵּם,  {ר}  לְעֵת תָּמוּט רַגְלָם:  {ס}  כִּי קָרוֹב יוֹם אֵידָם,  {ר}  וְחָשׁ עֲתִדֹת לָמוֹ.  {ס}

35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense, against the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that are to come upon them shall make haste.

With terrible floods, Hashem is taking vengeance against the nation that harmed the Jews decades ago.  When?  When the foot of the building shall slip.  (תמוט רגלם כי + the kollel = סרפסייד פלורידה).  When that occurs, the day for their calamity is at hand and will be hastened.  

And as Rabbeinu Bahye says on the word למו (something I noted elsewhere), that word is a hint to the Geula, which very possibly refers to its gematria of 76.  It is, of course, 76 years since the end of WWII.

Additionally, סרפסייד = משיח בן דוד.
