First Haman, Now Sanheriv

Now, the Iranian leader isn't just acting like Haman - he doesn't want to just wipe us off the map like he said previously - he wants us all to move to a few European provinces.

This reminds me of what Sanheriv (king of Assyria) did to the 10 tribes. When he tried to wage war against Yerushalayim, he and his army were wiped out.

As R' Brody said, don't these guys ever learn?

And, speaking of Assyria, let's look at a verse from this week's Haftara (according to Sephardic tradition) referring to the Jewish people at the time of the redemption:

יֶחֶרְדוּ כְצִפּוֹר מִמִּצְרַיִם, וּכְיוֹנָה מֵאֶרֶץ אַשּׁוּר; וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּים עַל-בָּתֵּיהֶם, נְאֻם-יְהוָה

They shall come trembling as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will make them to dwell in their houses, saith the LORD.
Here's an explanation of the verse.
