The Trumpets for Gog Umagog
And when ye go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresseth you, then ye shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
The Sifri says:
This means that the trumpets will be used for the war of Gog Umagog, as it is a war that has no further subservience after it.
The משך חכמה says that the same trumpets that were hidden by Moshe Rabbeinu will be used for the war of Gog Umagog since it says "Bahatzotzerot" - meaning the known trumpets.
The נצי"ב in העמק דבר asks: Sometimes blowing the trumpets didn't work to save us from our enemies! He answers that this Sifri tells us that the only time we will be promised salvation from our enemies by blowing the trumpets is during the war of Gog Umagog.
The מגן אברהם סימן תקע"ו asks why we don't have the custom of blowing trumpets nowadays. The Netiv Hayim answered that it only applies in Israel since the verse says "בארצכם". How about nowadays when many Jews live in Israel? Rav Yaakov Emden in מור וקציעה gives another answer to the מגן אברהם and says that we don't have the "trumpets of the Torah" or a good lineage on the Kohanim that blow them nowadays to allow blowing trumpets.
Despite the משך חכמה, the Temple Institute has made the "trumpets of the Torah" to be used in the Beit Hamikdash, and perhaps for Gog Umagog too.

I saw a video about the Jews of Djerba, and there is a community totally Cohanim dating from the First Temple period that have carried the mesorah of the Cohanim in the Beis HaMikdash to the present day.
Also, there was a very good coverage of the Jews of Djerba in Issue 257 of the English Mishpacha Magazine.

Part 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwfJVoJTsl0
I would like to know what you think of this?
PS this video and the series was authenticated as being created by a Jew; however, it appears under various names in YouTube, which are sometimes strange.
I used to have a neighbor who was a young religious Jew born in Djerba. He since moved away.
Anyways, those videos are fascinating, although, they're likely made for Xtian audiences (as Part 9 mentions Meggido).
I saw an interview with Simcha Jacobovici who did the exploration and filming of these videos; he's Jewish, born in Israel, but his entire family comes from Romania, and he explained how his entire family (almost) was gunned down (over 600,000 Jews), with only a few thousand remaining today. He has done much exploration and video-ing. He also did a series on the Exodus, in search of 'the' Pharoah. I am enthralled with this type of historical Jewish exploration, and now and then search out his work. Another place to find this type, but not as much, is at WeJew or KosherTube.
The videos that made the greatest impression was that of the Pashtun (maybe) Jewish Tribe, because of their facial features. When you look closely and apply a Meah Shearim or Boro Park/Wmsbg facade to their external dress, they look like your neighbors. You get what I mean, I hope.
This is a passion for me, to learn more about where our lost Jews are. I believe that the war in Afghanistan is only to wake up the Jewish tribal people hidden away in those hills.
Uh, don't we have to use THE trumpets that were made by Moshe, not those made LIKE them?
ytba,
Yes, according to the Meshech Hochma, but such a view may not be univerally accepted.
