Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit"a to Kiruv Worker: Return from Odessa Immediately, Mashiah is on the Way

In Odessa, a port city and the fourth largest in population in Ukraine after Kiev, Kharkov, and Dnepropetrovsk, live dozens of Jews. Since the riots in their country, the concern is growing among the community members of a crisis in the security situation.
Yesterday (Sunday), one of the members of the community who is considered a famous Kiruv worker in Odessa, requested from a special messenger in Israel to approach Maran Hagaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky and ask in his name whether to return to Israel due to the riots occurring in Ukraine.
The rav answered adamantly that it is incumbent upon him to pack his things and return back to Israel. The messenger explained to the rav that we're dealing with a Jew whose entire mission is to bring people back to Teshuva. However, Rav Kanievsky repeated his answer again and added,
That rav - the Kiruv worker from Odessa - packed his things and at 7PM Israel time, boarded a plane on his way to Israel, as he moved to the Land of Israel.

May we see the 50th gate , the ramchal descrbes geulah as shaarey nun . A wonderful sefer translated into English called maimer hageulah translated by rabbi Mordechai Nissin Shlita .98 mishnayot on the geulah explaining the "sod " of geulah from the mouth of the maggid of the ramchal . The ramchal wrote several books on the geulah given to him by a heavenly messenger a maggid , for this he was put in cherem and left Europe for EY. His books are seen as the greatest by all branches of yiddishkeit daatei lumei , chassidim , mitnagim sefardime. One thing in this amazing sefer bothers me though he says geulah is in Nissan , but \Abeshter Nissan comes Nissan goes and we still are in this golut ! PS Yaak im glad you and your mishpacha is in golut America with me Im unable to go to EY for an extended stay for they wont give me insurance for medications even though im a dual citizen .

There are many Chabad shluchim in the Ukraine who know that Moshiach is coming, but as shluchim who are committed to do the Rebbe's work will not leave until all yidden are accounted for and are brought back to their inheritance.

I agree with you and anonymous. Also, there are about 6 million Jews in the Gola, how does one purpose to move us all from all over the world and bring us home, in any other way then with the help of H"B? We are in the same boat anonymous, we tried all we could and we don't qualify for any assistance from any of the Jewish agencies...we can not make Aliya on our own & have no family to go to in Israel. We are also waiting for Massiach just like the Jews in Israel are. I'm glad he was able to just pick up and go, good for him, we are trapped. Only H"B can help us get out! My prayer goes out for the Jews in the Galut & in Israel May we all suffer no more.

Who changed the wording of the Rav's words Ya'ak?? I sense strongly that I think I have seen this before. There are a class of askanim and editors of news who have a vested interest on perpetuating this galut. I repeat, I have seen this dark Rishut before where askanim and some newspapers have changed a Rav's wording in order to keep wealthy Jews in Chu"l making money and writing checks to certain groups of people. I pray that we are not seeing a repeat of this, but askanim know that Jews in New York can't get their mortgages out of selling their homes when they try to sell them. So they have a vested interest in NOT encouraging Jews to try to sell their homes. I will review the Kikar article later to see if there are signs of this, but I have a bad feeling about this.
Within the last year, I asked a shaylah of Rav Kanievsky. He answered it personally. I would suggest that we ask the kiruv worker from Odessa precisely what the Rav said BEFORE the censors came in and said, "No the Rav actually said this." I have no interest in dealing in sheker, but the sad fact is there are those who have a vested interest to do just that. So the simply solution is to ask the kiruv worker precisely what the Rav told him. That would end the matter.
Ya'ak: I am still troubled by the rewording of the Rav's words. I suggest that one of us try to contact the kiruv worker to find out precisely what the Rav told him or his shaliach. There is at least a good reason to be suspicious that this teshuvah was reworded by his askanim. The exact words don't suddenly change so drastically unless one of the two sources is not being honest with us. In one version the Rav said, "On the way there will be many harsh things." but in the new version in mentions the harsh things as the condition for making Aliyah. The meaning of the answer was altered by this change. Who changed it and why? Maybe the editor of Kikar Shabbat would provide us with the name of the kiruv worker so that he or his shaliach can be asked directly.
Oh forgot, the 50th gate or Sha'ar Nun is the name of Mashiach, Yinon. The Tenth 50th or Yinon. Rav Yehudah HaChassid of Regensberg was given a nevu'ah by Eliyahu HaNavi over 800 years ago. "For 8 Yovel cycles (exactly) the Ottoman Turks will rule in Yerushalayaim (1517- 1917). For one Yovel cycle, Yerushalayim will be hefker (1917- 1967). And then by the 50th year of the tenth Yovel cycle, Mashiach ben David will come. (5776 a Motzei Shmittah year and a potential Yovel year. It is the 50th year of the reunification of Yerushalayim. The year of judgement on the nations of the world precedes this in the Shmittah year 5775 as in "on the way there will be other harsh things.")

And Sha'ar Nun refers to that Mashiach comes by the beginning of the 50th year, not the end of that year. Since this would be the Yovel year, that would be by or before Yom Kippur 5776....in 19 months time from now. Yishayahu 34 tells us that there will be a "year of payback for the cause of Tzion". So that would be in the Shmittah year 5775. B'Rachamim, this should be preceded by miraculous events in Eretz Yisrael by this Pesach after 9 full months of the 4 x 26 (Rachamim times HaShem's Name of Rachamim) prisoner releases preceding the year of Din because the Geulah begins b'Rachamim in E. Yisrael during Nisan preceding the year of Din 5775. This was Rav Mordechai Eliyahu's zt"l decision that the silver watch of the Baba Sali would precede the gold watch. So "at the doorstep" pretty much describes all this.
The most likely event for Nisan 5774?: the coming of Eliyahu HaNavi this Nisan in year 6, the year of Kol Mevaser Mevaser veOmer, the year of Kolot. 1. to warn us to do teshuvah by Yom Kippur 5775 or by that Hoshana Rabba. 2. to return the hearts of fathers to their children and vice versa. 3. to set up a Holy Sanhedrin and of course to herald all the events of the Shmittah year and the coming of ben David in Sha'ar Nun, the Gateway to the

The original said something like:
המשיח בפתח. בדרך יהיה דברים אחרים קשים. חובה עליך לחזור מיד לארץ
Mashiach as at the doorstep. On the way there will be other difficult things. You are obligated to return immediately to Eretz (Yisrael).
How can anyone mistranslate that?
