Rav Berger on Kever David and Geula - Part 2 of 6
From Rav Berger's latest:
Continued from Part 1.
The place of the gravesite is the place where David placed the Ark of the Covenant of Hashem
And there (i.e. the place where today is David's tomb), King David A"H also placed the Holy Ark - the Ark of the Covenant of Hashem for a span of 44 years after it returned from the Philistines until the Beit Hamikdash was built, as is brought down in the Siddur Ya'avetz called "Beit Yaakov" in the Shir Shel Yom Sheni and based on 3 Rishonim: 1) The Radvaz in The Responsa of the Radvaz, vol. 2 #633, 2) Rav Eshtori HaParhi in his book Kaftor Vaferah, and 3) The student of the Ramban ZY"A in his book of travels called "Totza'ot Eretz Yisrael". And there King David founded and established the watches of the Levites that they will sing Psalms before the ark as a preparation for the building of the Beit Hamikdash, as is brought down (Divrei Hayamim Alef 16:37) [So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required]. In other words, the ark would not be forsaken, G-d forbid, in the place that David prepared for it. The verse describes that the singers from the tribe of Levi would sing before it every day, morning and evening, until it was brought up to the Beit Hamikdash of Hashem. (This is how Rashi comments there in verse 37.)
And the Radak expanded this in his commentary that David, besides establishing the song before the ark, also established that they would bring burnt-offerings on a small Bamah [makeshift alter] close to the ark just like the great Bamah that was in the Mishkan of Hashem in Giv'on, where David sent Tzadok Hakohen. All this, as we mentioned, took place in the holy place of today's "David's Tomb", just as we explained earlier.
The place where the Shechina Dwells
King David A"H said (Tehillim 76:3) וַיְהִי בְשָׁלֵם סוּכּוֹ; וּמְעוֹנָתוֹ בְצִיּוֹן [In Salem also is set His tabernacle, and His dwelling-place in Zion] and Yonatan translated this to mean: "And His Beit Hamikdash was in Yerushalayim (Salem = Jerusalem) and the house of His holy Shechina in Zion."
All Blessings and Salvations are Drawn from Mt. Zion
It is brought down in many verses and explained in sayings of Haza"l that the entire root of blessings and salvations - general and specific ones - come from this holy place - Mt. Zion - as it is brought down in many verses in Tehillim, [like] מִי יִתֵּן מִצִּיּוֹן, יְשׁוּעַת יִשְׂרָאֵל [Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!] which refers to all the salvations that come from Mt. Zion. [And like] יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהוָה, מִצִּיּוֹן [The LORD bless thee out of Zion]. [And like] כְּטַל-חֶרְמוֹן-- שֶׁיֹּרֵד, עַל-הַרְרֵי צִיּוֹן:כִּי שָׁם צִוָּה יְהוָה, אֶת-הַבְּרָכָה [Like the dew of Hermon, that cometh down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing] And as is brought down in the holy Zohar in the Idra that Mt. Zion, the place of the kings of the House of David corresponds to the Sefira of Yesod from where salvations and blessings are drawn to the whole world [YY - although, to me, it appears that the Idra is referring to the Holy of Holies, not Mt. Zion. צ"ע.]
And it is similarly brought down in the book "Menahem Tzion" by the holy rabbi Rabbi Menahem Mendel of Rimnov ZY"A (Lecture for Rosh Hashana) that Mt. Zion that his close to Mt. Moriah has the aspect of Rosh Hashana in that just as the time of Rosh Hashana is the root of life for all the times of the year, similarly, this holy place of Mt. Zion also is the root of life of all places in the world. [YY - It said that it is the place of trembling and awe and from there, it spreads to the whole world.]
And it similarly is explained in Haza"l (Vayikra Rabba 24) That all blessings only come from Tzion.

Thank you, beautiful. If only Am Yisrael understood the greatness of this place, they would flock to it day and night. After all there is no issur and no worldly power stopping Am Yisrael. Only ignorance and the yetzer hara do.
By the way I received a call from Rabbanit Grossman this week, who diligently volunteers at the Kever. She said that they are in dire need of financial aid, as well as physical presence and volunteers. She asked me to pass the word around. Could you please share this with your readers? You are in the US, maybe some wealthy readers might want to help financially? If so please let me know, and I will do my best to put them in touch with the right people. May they have all the blessings granted by Hashem to all who seek Him and David Hamelech.
Thank you.
Shabbat Shalom.

Where does one contribute financially? An address please.
Ki m'Tzion taitzai Torah udvar.Hashem M'Yerushalayim. Apparently this "rabbi".thinks it's out of Aza?Iran, maybe? Oh, I know: Mecca?
What a fool!
I will ask the rabbanit and others who volunteer there too, and will post the information as soon as I have it. Thank you for your offer, and Shabbat Shalom.
Which rabbi are you referring to?
DS
Yaak - seems to me (in initial glance, will need more introspection) that the Idra can easily be referring to both the MT Zion and Holy of Holies.
Throughout the Idra the Holy of Holies corresponds to Keter-Chochmah-Binah (the physical Holy of Holies in the Temple is K"Ch"B of Asiyah within it is garbed K"Ch"B or Yetzirah, Beriyah, and Atzilut).
We know that everything that exists in the material world exists also Above, so there are Holy of Holies and Mt Zion in each world.
Mt Zion, Yesod, is called the Pillar influencing Keter into Malchut. In several discourses the same "concept" corresponds to both Yesod and K'Ch"B (one such discourse that comes to mind is from the Rebbe Rashab explaining the Zohar's teaching on "יתרון ארץ בכל היא מלך לשדב נעבד" - explaining that "כל" corresponds to Yesod, but it also has the numerical value of 50 which correspond to the 50 Gates of Binah, and later elaborating that Yesod includes in it Binah, and accordingly Mt Zio includes in it the Holy og Holies.
Good Shabbos, Moshiach Now.
DS, thank you for that info.
Leah, perhaps, the second hald of your comment was meant for the Tomer Devorah blog? That's my guess.
Ronnie, I'm no Kabbala expert by any means, so I'll take your word for it even though that doesn't seem to be the simple Peshat of the Zohar.
This post was published prematurely. I meant to add more to it.
Therefore, I'm now going to make 6 parts instead of 4. I changed the post titles accordingly.
Yes, sorry, for some reason my comment on the Netura.kharta or however the selling is got here. No clue. Yes, it was a comment regarding speaking before the Pseudostinians s.d claiming Israel as wrong etc. Blah blah blah
Shavuah Tov, yaak and al,
You are welcome. I am in the process of clarifying what is the best way to donate. I called another Rebbetzin to verify, and from what I understand there are competing needs, all legit. I will get as much info as I can from the various ( wonderful, all of them) rabbanim, rabbaniot, and various lay people, to determine the best way. If there are more than one fund I will let you know, with details on each. Then it is up to you to decide where you prefer to donate: one needs refreshments, plastic plates, etc.; the other one wants a better mechitzah; you get the picture....as long as the funds go 100% for the maintenance of Kever David and help bring Jews for Tefillot, and help bring the Geula, it's all good in my book. In yours too?...

Yaak and al,
Just to let you know that I haven't abandoned the above topic, I am still actively working on it, it is just that there seems to be a lot of confusion, they are not well organized and have a lot of debts - for instance, they owe thousands of shekels to a bakery, of all things... I am trying to get them to give me a specific bank account money could be wired to. The rabbanit I am in touch with was surprised that I was asking for such a thing. I guess they are not used to proper fundraising techniques. I will try to help them organize all that so that money can be funneled in an orderly manner.
In addition I brought up to them the idea that I think we should raise money for a hHchnasat Sefer Torah at Kever David. The Rabbanit will ask her husband to look into it, because at this point there is not even an Aron, apparently. She wants to know if there might be opposition to the plan. Can you imagine? At Mearat Hamachpelah there is a huge Aron. I think we need to use that model and do it ASAP. Can you imagine the power that would add to the place? Uniting Malchut David and Torah, that is already two of the main principles. So that is one of my goals, besides helping them pay their debts.
As soon as I have the info I will post it.
What do you think of my ideas, and will you and your readers join me in that endeavor? To tell you the truth I think that is where our main battle should focus. That is where we are battling our greatest enemy, Rome. Let's go straight for the head, why bother with small fry? Didn't David Hamelech go straight for Goliath's head? We can do it too, B"H. With Tehillim, Tefillot, and Torah at Kever David.
