Here are some possible additional kavanot one might want to have this year while praying and reciting the word תשכון, which has the gematria of 776.  These should not replace the kavanot one already has while praying, but can possibly be put into one's mind in addition to one's original kavannot.  Obviously, the plain meaning of the Shechina resting in the Beit Hamikdash is still intact.  This is an additional possible hint to the current year.  If unsure whether you can or should have these kavanot or not, please ask your local knowledgeable Orthodox rabbi.



Sephardic (Edot Hamizrah) weekday Amidah:

  תִּשְׁכּון בְּתוךְ יְרוּשָׁלַיִם עִירְךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ וְכִסֵּא דָוִד עַבְדְּךָ מְהֵרָה בְתוכָהּ תָּכִין

In [5]776, in the midst of Yerushalayim Your city, as You had spoken, the throne of David, Your servant, You will speedily establish therein.¹

Nusah Ashkenaz and Nusah Sepharad weekday Amidah:

וְלִירוּשָׁלַיִם עִירְךָ בְּרַחֲמִים תָּשׁוּב. וְתִשְׁכּן בְּתוכָהּ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתָּ

And to Yerushalayim, Your city, You will return with mercy in [5]776 in its midst as You had spoken.

Nusah Ashkenaz and Nusah Sepharad Shabbat morning Kedusha:

מִמְּקומְךָ מַלְכֵּנוּ תופִיעַ. וְתִמְלוךְ עָלֵינוּ כִּי מְחַכִּים אֲנַחְנוּ לָךְ. מָתַי תִּמְלךְ בְּצִיּון. בְּקָרוב בְּיָמֵינוּ לְעולָם וָעֶד תִּשְׁכּון

From Your place, our King, You will appear.  And You will rule over us for we are awaiting You.  When will You rule in Zion soon in our days forever and ever?  In [5]776!²
