Note that בראק אובאמה (Barack Obama) equals נחש (snake) while ג'ון קרי (John Kerry) equals והנחש (and the snake), as in וְהַנָּחָשׁ, הָיָה עָרוּם, מִכֹּל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה.  Yes, John Kerry was more cunning than all the beasts of the field.

Note further a recent Yated article which talks about the verse in Yeshaya 49:17:

יז  מִהֲרוּ, בָּנָיִךְ; מְהָרְסַיִךְ וּמַחֲרִיבַיִךְ, מִמֵּךְ יֵצֵאוּ.

17 Thy children make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth from thee.

The article is talking about J-Street and company, where the verse aptly applies.  The article says the following:

However, over the centuries and millennia, this posuk has come to be understood as a warning against our internal enemies, who are ultimately more dangerous than the external ones with spears, guns, and lately rockets and bombs. Rav Dovid Cohen (Maaseh Avos Siman Labonim 1:42; 2: 275) has actually delineated the names of many of these antagonists, and indeed some them have been enemies in ruchniyus and others in gashmiyus. Some of these are Freud, Lenin, Marx, Trotsky and even Tourquemada, the bloody mass murderer of the Spanish Inquisition. Rav Cohen further contends, based upon a ruling of Rav Yaakov Kamenetzky zt”l, that even those who only had a Jewish father and were therefore not halachically Jewish may be included in the appellation of mimeich yeitzei’u. According to this p’sak of Rav Kamenetzky, we must be all the more vigilant in recognizing these threats to Am Yisroel, since they may have “some Jewish blood,” although they are not technically part of the nation.

We also know that John Kerry's paternal grandfather was Jewish.  Wikipedia Hebrew has more information:

סבו וסבתו מצד אביו, פריץ ואידה כהן, היו יהודים ילידי העיירה בניש בצ'כיה (אז חלק מאוסטרו-הונגריה). ב-1896 עברו בני הזוג לווינה, ובשנת 1900 החליטו לשנות את שמם לפרדריק ואידה קרי על מנת להסתיר את שורשיהם היהודיים. בשנת 1901 המירו רשמית סביו את דתם לנצרות קתולית.

My translation:

His grandfather and grandmother on his father's side, Fritz and Ida Kohn, were Jews who grew up in the town of Benešov, Czech Republic (then a part of Austria-Hungary).  In 1896, the couple moved to Vienna.  And in the year 1900, they decided to change their names to Fredrick and Ida Kerry in order to conceal their Jewish Roots.  In 1901, his grandfather officially converted to Catholicism.
