1950 Years Part 2

Part 1

In this Devar Torah, which I recently saw attributed to Rav Shimshon of Ostropoli (ZY"A HY"D), he notes that the 210 years in Egypt is due to the blemish made to the name א-ה-י-ה multiplied by 10 (which is for the 9 brothers + HKB"H involved in the sale of Yosef).  Also noted there is that Moshe Rabbeinu thought that the blemish was in the שם הויה.

In Parashat Shemot, we read:

13 And Moses said unto God: 'Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them: The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me: What is His name? what shall I say unto them?'
14 And God said unto Moses: 'I AM THAT I AM'; and He said: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: I AM hath sent me unto you.'
15 And God said moreover unto Moses: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you; this is My name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.

In other words, א-ה-י-ה is the name of Hashem for the Redemption from Egypt.  In verse 15, Hashem told Moshe Rabbeinu that the שם הויה, which is the name mentioned in this verse, will be His name forever and for all generations.

The number 1950 has many factors.  One of them is 26x75.

My unproven, but educated, theory is that a "generation" is 75 years.  If we, the Jewish people, through Sin'at Hinam and other sins, כביכול blemished the שם הויה, thereby causing Hurban Bayit Sheni, then it stands to reason that we have been punished for הויה (i.e. 26) generations.  And, as mentioned in that post based on the Mishnah in Eduyot, the Ketz is counted by generations.

This could be the explanation in Possibly, Hashem was telling Moshe Rabbeinu that א-ה-י-ה is His name that was blemished in the Egyptian Exile, while in the future Edomite Exile, it is the שם הויה that will have been blemished כביכול and one needs to remember that name for that many generations (1950 years).

May we merit to quickly see the end of the Edomite Exile and the beginning of our Final Redemption.
