Purim Torah or Real Torah? You decide:

קורונה מן התורה מנין?

Where is Corona hinted to in the Torah?

Eliezer said the following when he went to find a wife for Yitzhak:

יב  וַיֹּאמַר--יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲדֹנִי אַבְרָהָם, הַקְרֵה-נָא לְפָנַי הַיּוֹם; וַעֲשֵׂה-חֶסֶד, עִם אֲדֹנִי אַבְרָהָם.

12 And he said: 'O LORD, the God of my master Abraham, send me, I pray Thee, good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.

and the Targum Yonatan interprets the words הקרה נא as:

זמין כען איתא מהגנא

Prepare now a proper wife

The second siman in Shulhan Aruch Even Ha'ezer is titled:

שישתדל כל אדם ליקח לו אשה הגונה

That every man should try to marry a proper wife

Vashti was not a proper wife. She had terrible character traits and rebelled against her husband. By contrast, Esther was a proper wife. But the husband, on the other hand...

We know that the giving of the Torah was a marriage: HKB"H as the groom, the Jewish people as the bride, and the Torah as the ring.  When we are unfaithful to our Groom, the הקרה-נא (which is gematria 367 with the letters) becomes קורונה (corona).

On Purim, we re-accepted the Torah (קימו וקבלו) out of love with the same Groom, bride and ring. And while that acceptance was praiseworthy, we still don't say hallel on Purim since אכתי עבדי אחשורוש אנן (we are still the servants of Ahashverosh). That acceptance is not complete since we are still serving Ahashverosh instead of HKB"H. It will only be complete when Mashiah comes and Shibud Malchuyot comes to an end.

Let's complete the re-acceptance of the Torah by being a proper wife to HKB"H so we can defeat Corona and bring Mashiah Tzideknu Bimhera Veyameinu, Amen.
