Recent Events and Their Geula Basis

 We went from Coronavirus to the Meron tragedy to the brink of yet another Yishmaelite War.

Sanhedrin 98a:

אמר רבי יוחנן אם ראית דור שצרות רבות באות עליו כנהר חכה לו שנאמר (ישעיהו נט, יט) כי יבא כנהר צר (ו) רוח ה' נוססה בו וסמיך ליה ובא לציון גואל

Rabbi Yoḥanan says: If you saw a generation whose troubles inundate it like a river, await the coming of the Messiah, as it is stated: “When distress will come like a river that the breath of the Lord drives” (Isaiah 59:19). And juxtaposed to it is the verse: “And a redeemer will come to Zion” (Isaiah 59:20).

 Keli Yakar on Devarim 4:25:

כי ממדת הש"י שלא להביא צרות תכופות זו לזו כמו שלמדו במדרש (בר"ר עה.יג) מן פסוק ורוח תשימו בין עדר לעדר (בראשית לב.טז) וזה דווקא בזמן שהוא נפרע תיכף בלא הרחבת זמן, אבל אם הקב"ה מאריך אפו זמן רב אז באחרית הימים הוא מביא צרות צרורות זו לזו ותכופות וצרה אל אחותה נגשת, וכן היה בבית ראשון שהיו עובדים ע"ז זמן רב מימות ירבעם ואעפי"כ האריך להם אפו ומ"ש (דברים יא.יז) ואבדתם מהרה וגו' ושם פירש"י לא אתן לכם ארכה וכן כאן נאמר כי אבד תאבדון מהר.

This is another source that at the End of Days, troubles come one after another without interruption.

Here's Rav Amar Shlit"a in Mercaz Harav explaining that all these troubles we're having are due to the impending Geula and that just as before the Geula from Egypt, Par'oh placed us in a worse situation than we were earlier, the same is occurring now before Mashiah comes.  But, he emphasizes that we should not give up hope and we should know that the end result will be good.
