Making Aliya Me'Ahava vs. Aliya Miyir'ah

Much has been written about the benefits of making Aliya in times of peace over fleeing to Israel as a refugee from unfriendly governments around the world.

Wise people have been warning that the latter scenario could happen in the United States one day, while there are always nay-sayers who say it could never happen.

What do the nay-sayers say after reading this story?

Report Advises Jews To Avoid UC Irvine

(IsraelNN.com) A local task force has advised Jewish students not to enroll at the University of California's Irvine campus "until tangible changes are made" to combat growing anti-Semitism. The Newport Beach and Costa Mesa Daily Pilot reported that a community task force stated, "The acts of anti-Semitism are real and well documented. Hate speech has been unrelenting. There is no indication that the university is at all concerned about the disconnect between campus values and the values of the greater society."

The State Department issued a report two months ago that the university does not discriminate against Jews, but the task force's report, based on interviews with faculty, students and local residents, asserts that "Jewish students have been harassed" and that faculty members cannot speak out against anti-Israel speakers because of the pressure to be "politically correct."

Here's the original article.

Can you even imagine in our day and age saying "Don't go to that school - they're anti-semitic."? Well, it's happening.
Is it limited to college campuses? So far, pretty much. Can this anti-Jewish sentiment be stopped in its tracks? We hope so, but we'll have to wait and see.
However, we cannot trust in America. As much as I have Hakarat Hatov to America, I cannot trust it. Even the US Dollar says "In G-d We Trust".

אין לנו על מי להשען אלא על אבינו שבשמים

It is the money davka that says this because money is their god. It is the money they put their trust in and it is the money-god that is falling. That's how we know we have entered the period of Eisav's final demise...just like Mitzrayim. All the idols will fall one by one, each through a plague connected to that god's 'strength.'

The roof (gag) is going to cave in and it won't distinguish between Jew and gentile. If you are loitering, you're taking your lives and those of your families into your own hands. It's forbidden to depend on miracles. God blessed you with a good (home)land and opened the door wide for you. Why do you continue to turn your nose up at His beautiful gift and bountiful provision???

This is not directed at any particular individual, but to all Jews in chu"l.

It's so good to read you again.

My take on this subject is that this has been going on for a while, on many US campuses. And now in Berkeley (CA) the liberal anti-much-that-is-moral won't allow the US soldier recruiting tables, i.e. they are against the very Army, Navy, Marines, Infantry, Airforce, Coastguard that are protecting the coastline and country that allows these "anti's" to protest.

We should know that antisemitism in any form comes from Hashem, as it is built into our relationship with Eisav, and it comes to wake us up and bring us back to Hashem. This is our last golus and we ALL need to do sincere teshuva - all Jews, even Bnei Brak and Manhattan.

Devash, some do turn their nose
at E"Y. Others, like me, are still trying to find the finances and proper environment for my children for this to become reality.

Neshama, I am aware of the anti-semitism on college campuses and of the situation at Berkeley (I listen to Michael Savage sometimes). However, has it ever happened in the past 40-50 years that a task-force recommended for Jews to stay away from a particular school? If so, let me know. I've never heard of it.
