Gay Pride Parade Postponed Due to Disengagement

Arutz Sheva reports:

Jerusalem Gay Parade Postponed
22:57 May 05, '05 / 26 Nisan 5765

(IsraelNN.com) The organizers of the planned Gay Parade in Jerusalem today reversed their previous stand and announced they would postpone the event set for August 18. They said the reason was that the planned evacuation of Jews from Gaza and northern Samaria would not leave the police with enough manpower to provide security for the parade. The police had been expected to request a postponement.

Polls have shown that an overwhelming of Jews and Arabs are strongly against the parade taking place in the capital. Leaders of all three major religions, in a rare joint announcement, said they opposed the parade as immoral and a disgrace to a holy city. Reform and Conservative Jewish leaders have supported the event.

Let's hope they both keep postponing each other into oblivion.
