Return to E"Y

After 14 years of Yaakov Avinu working for Lavan, he requests to be sent back "to my place and to my land".

After 14 years of Yeranen Yaakov being away from the Holy Land (can you believe it?), I finally was able to come back to my place and my land, albeit only for a short visit due to a family Simha.

May my next time away be exponentially shorter, and may we all be ingathered to our land, בב"א.

I didn't see as much as I hoped to due to family obligations and the fact that I was traveling with little kids. I will tell you that I went to the Kotel 4 times during the week that I was there, and went to 2 Yishuvim - both North of Yerushalayim. Just being there was inspiring enough.

I often traveled on Rehov Yafo and saw the location of the first incident. There were many bulldozers there and it didn't look like they were being operated by Jews.

I also passed by Rehov Hamelech David (the site of the second incident), but didn't pay attention to see construction in that area.

It may be time to consider Avodat Ivrit, no matter the monetary cost.

May those injured today have a Refu'ah Sheleima from Shamayim.

Instead of removing the problem of Avodah Aravit, the police have stated that they will now increase the supervision of construction sites. Soon we will need so many police officers that no doubt we will start out-sourcing these jobs to residents of Arab neighborhoods of Eastern Jerusalem.
