Rav Sorotzkin, Rav Olshin, and Rav Feinstein on Sandy
According to Kikar:
Rav Yitzchak Sorotzkin Shlit"a from Telz Cleveland said that the hurricane was due to Yeshiva boys who are lacking in Shibud Hatorah and Ameilut Batorah, who go home for Shabbat every other week and miss Sedarim because of a wedding here and a Bar Mitzvah here. This is understood by the fact that the hurricane hit the Torah world, and specifically Lakewood, causing a huge amount of Bitul Torah.
On the other hand, Rav Yerucham Olshin Shlit"a from Lakewood said that the hurricane was due to the attitude of some people who degrade the whole concept of Kollels and consider those who learn in Kollels babied by their parents who support them and lazy from doing work. We see this from the fact that during the power outage caused by the hurricane, people learned Torah in the dark and in the cold, showing that Bnei Torah will continue to learn even with hardships.
Rav Reuven Feinstein Shlit"a said that HKB"H wants to awaken us and let us know that life cannot be as it was before as if nothing had happened. He added that we should strengthen ourselves with Torah learning of a practical nature - ללמוד לשמור לעשות ולקיים - not just learning for the sake of learning. He also added that in order to raise Talmidei Hachamim, we need to be stronger in learning Beki'ut.

Who gave these chashuve rabbonim a direct line to HQBH? Did He tell them panim el panim?
ysh, do you believe in the concept of Ru'ah Hakodesh? You don't need Panim el Panim.
Do you ask the same question when they decide a halacha? "Who gave them a direct line to HKB"H?" Rather, using their human, but Divinely-inspired, understanding of the situation, this is what they hold.
I prefer Rav Lichtenstein's approach. See http://pagesoffaith.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/on-appropriate-religious-responses-to-hurricane-sandy/
OMG: Find out what Rav Shalom Arush Shlitah or Rav Benayahu Shmueli Shlitah are saying about Hurricane Sandy and how it swayed the American election for President. You quoted Rav Shmueli in your previous post. What does he have to say about the hurricane?
What is the Erloier Rebbe or the Sanzer Rebbe both Shlita saying about the hurricane? Would any of these men say that Jews on the Brooklyn coast should be rebuilding Seagate or Far Rockaway? Is it really about bitul Torah? Or is it possibly something else? Amazing three more American states this time by plebiscite have voted to grant ketubot to homosexuals. Maryland is one of them and Washington State another. Baltimore escaped Sandy because the hurricane was BEFORE the plebiscite. States that grant ketubot or Civil Union contracts to homosexuals were all hit this time after last year's shot across the bow with Hurricane Irene. But Maryland became one of those dreaded states after the hurricane. So what is next? Do you feel safer in Baltimore now that your fellow citizens voted to grant ketubot to a known abomination? Or does it simply not matter?
And now that Obamanation is back worse than ever because 45% of Americans thought that he looked oh so Presidential because of the hurricane and that it had a major effect on how they voted, is the country in which you reside safer for Jews? Can anyone think out of the box and see that G-d wants you to LEAVE? before you come with your pajamas in a plastic bag. And Rav Arush said that four years ago. Ya think that maybe he might know something genuine about where you should be or where you should be headed? The last thing that you should be doing right now is rebuilding in places that embrace contracts between people practicing known abominations. At least head for Texas where they are planning a revolution or to Eastern Tennessee with Rav Ariel bar Tzadok where the goyishe neighbors are righteous gentiles. Those are your second best options. For Heaven's sake, THIS MOST UNUSUAL OF STORMS OCCURRED ONE WEEK BEFORE THE ELECTION IN WHICH ROMNEY WAS WINNING BEFORE THE STORM. Use your head. Remember what Rav Shalom Arush said and act accordingly, and come with more than your pjs.
Dov, what now, you will tell us who to listen to?
We can all listen to whomever we want. 3323 years ago some of us listened to Kalev and Yehoshua regarding whether we should go to Eretz Yisrael. Most chose to listen to the other ten Gedolei HaDor at that time. And now some of us choose to repair the damage to our neshamot because we listened to the ten spies and bawled like a baby, and we are listening to Kalev and Yehoshua this time around. It is your choice to whom you want to listen. Yes, Eretz Yisrael on the surface seems like a frightening place. We have a man who has played chicken all of his life as our PM, and oh those Hamas thugs look like giants. But we choose not to be afraid, that the real Mashgiach is running the show here in His Castle and not the inmates who think they are running an asylum. Zeh hu.
ysh, Rav Lichtenstein's approach is one I've heard many times. He seems to conclude that Shas and poskim are full of cause-and-effect statements, but wer'e just not on the caliber to understand the cause. Bimhila to Rav Lichtenstein Shlit"a, but while he is right regarding the vast majority of people, I believe that there are people even in our generation who have certain amounts of Ru'ah Hakodesh and have the authority to express their opinions on these subjects.
Dov,
I have no idea what those Gedolim say about the hurricane, but if you find out, please let me know. There are many, like you, who want to attribute the hurricane as a call to leave Galut. That may be true. That may not be true. If I hear it from a Gadol, I'd be more inclined to believe it. I'd also be more inclined to believe it if it weren't repeated by the same people over and over who are trying to promote their agenda. I have nothing against the agenda, but it needs to be backed up by a consensus of Gedolim. Until that happens, it just becomes white noise.
The difference is that Moshe Rabeinu said to them go to the land, the one who get the Torah form Hakadosh Baruhu, and now we hear from handicapped people, see the difference or not?
I smell atni tsionism
I will ask Rav Lazer Brody as soon as I can what Rav Arush is saying. That is the quickest way to find out, and he usually properly quotes our Rav on issues such as these. When I can get in to see the Rav of Erlau, I will ask him too. He is a true tzaddik who like Yitro, opposed the Disengagement and did not just abstain. Kiryat Sanz is too far away for a day trip, but in the past I have spoken to Rav Shmueli at his yeshivah across the street from Machane Yehudah.
Hazaku Baruch!
By the way, his talmid, Rav Lazer Brody was in Brooklyn recently, he did not say nothing about it. Why?!
And please ask the Telshe Rav in Cleveland how many dead people voted for Obama in Cuyahoga County. In 9 precincts in Cleveland, supposedly 0% voted for Romney, that would be a total vote count of zero for Romney in 9 precincts. Can you hear election workers tearing up your ballot? I am sure that Josh Mandel of Beachwood received the same vote total in those same nine precincts for the US Senate. Hail Caesar...or is it Paro? http://www.theblaze.com/stories/odd-romney-got-zero-votes-in-59-precincts-in-philly-9-in-ohio/
Go to Rav Brody's Facebook page. He says that he only talks about this with Jews in America who ask him point blank because his message is kiruv. And if he starts scaring people, then he defeats the purpose of why he is in America. He goes to America for kiruv, not to scare people away. But go to his Facebook page.
I think it's clear that the storm was due to many Rabbanim making up reasons why the storm occurred.
This should help you on your search:
http://www.facebook.com/lazerbrody/posts/10151089925562680
Look at the derision in the comments to the above Facebook post. Look at the hate from the comments. Most of the haters are Jews. No wonder why Rav Brody only brings up the subject of Aliyah if asked point blank on his trips to America/ Canada.
For this who missed the bulletin: Israel recognizes gay marriage.
and if we are playing the theodicy game, what are we to learn from the recent missile attacks coming from Gaza? Is that now a call to leave Israel or a call to change Israel's recognition of marriage equality. It all gets so darn confusing.
No Rav in Eretz Yisrael performs gay marriages or even can perform such marriages. Israel does recognize marriages performed outside of Eretz Yisrael in other jurisdictions, and now a lot of them are suddenly homosexual unions, thanks to New York. But G-d will deal with Sodom by the Sea (Tel Aviv). This is His Castle. And His Providence is precise here. And your answer to the other question is it is time to obliterate Arab life in Gaza. Watch how it happens, and how the abomination in Sodom by the Sea is eliminated at the same time.
This is His Castle. And His Providence is precise here. And your answer to the other question is it is time to obliterate Arab life in Gaza. Watch how it happens, and how the abomination in Sodom by the Sea is eliminated at the same time.
LOL. #nutsoalert
Just speculating, but perhaps the Sandy Storm was both specific (pre-US election) and general (many storms and floods in these times which are thought by many to be the period of time immediately prior to Moschiach?).
Dov
What of the frum Yidden in Tel Aviv too, including the Belz Chasidic community in the very heart of the "trendy" city?
Dov
There is not much difference between the state of Israel and the US. Both are secular countries.
Dov, sodom by the sea, what about Jerusalem, just yesterday on an Egged bus there was a male soldier and his male lover sitting on the bus, arm around one and holding the others leg. So sweet to witness.
I could have not said it better than mark! It seems that the rabbinim are just as confused and trying to Make up their own reasons for sandy. They all have good points but can't we all look to hashem instead of all these politicaly correct rabbis???
I looked at the name given to this unusual storm: Sandy. In Hebrew , sand is חול. חול is like חו"ל the abbreviation for חוץ לארץ (outside of Eretz Yisrael). חול also means secular or profane – the opposite of holy. To me if there’s a message in this storm, it’s that the bastion of East Coast Jewry is starting to crumble like a sand castle. It’s time to consider leaving חו"ל and going up to ארץ הקודש. With Obama’s reelection on the heels of the storm, America’s decline will only accelerate. It seems that learning Torah on the Jersey Shore in the shadow of the Atlantic City casinos is חולין compared to learning it in Eretz Yisrael. No one wants to leave the comfort of America, but people have been forced from their homes by water. Hurricane Irene was a warning , a shot across the bow. Hashem usually sends a warning before a more serious blow. Sandy, was hopefully not a warning to something even more serious, but while he hope for the best, we should prepare for the worst. I think Israel is looking more like a viable option …

THE WISE MAT TRANSLATE INTO HEBREW
IN OUR PRAYERS WE SAY THAT HASHEM WILL "FETCH" US TO RETURN IMPLYING A DOG, TO WHICH WE ARE THE FACES OF INSOLENT DOGS IN DISPORIA WHO WANT TO RETURN TO THEIR OWN VOMIT TO WHICH ERETZ ISRAEL SPIT THEM OUT. THUS YOU ARE ALL CORRECT ON CERTAIN LEVELS. DISPORIA JEWS WILL EITHER RETURN FROM LOVE NOT LONGING OR HASHEM WILL SHOW THEM THAT THE EXILE HAS ENDED AND A NEW BEGINING HAS BEGUN. BELIEVE IN THE WORD OF HASHEM AND TRUST HIM ONLY, THIS IS WHY LAZER CAN NOT SPEAK TO THEM UNLESS HE IS ASKED, THE DOGS DO NOT LISTEN EVEN THOUGHT THEY HAVE EARS, THEY DO NOT SEE EVEN THOUGHT THEY HAVE EYES, THUS THEY WILL GO DOWN AS THE ORIGINAL EIGHTY PERCENT DID AT THE FIRST REDEMPTION. HASHEM IS NOT PLAYING AROUND THIS TIME AS HE DID NOT AT THE FIRST.SO, IF THEY COME HOME, LOVE THEM, IF NOT, IT WILL BE ON THEIR OWN SOULS. EVEN AS HARSHLY AS IT SOUNDS, WE SHOULD NOT HELP THEM REBUILD. THEY NEED TO MAKE A CHOICE NOW AND THUS WE WILL WAIT PERHAPS DAYS BUT NOT MORE THAN MONTHS TO SEE HOW HASHEM ENDS IT ALL.
pshat yid
pshat yid, nobody ask you either why you talk? you better than rav Lazer?
If you compare our rabbis in Diaspora to dogs who don't listen, who are you then, hamor?
Dov, have you ever asked your rabbi in Tennesi who is building a farm there, you mentioned many times why he is not moving to Israel?
I find it disturbing that the responses concern only Torah study. Do we have a one mitzvah religion? No concerns about middos or faith or tznius or honesty in business?
pshat yid even hamorim not inerpeting pasukim like you! in todays's Daf it was saying about that Rav Yehuda, the teacher of Rav Zeira was against going to EY and he holds like Mashiah will gather us, so this tana you also will compare to a dog?! Don't tell me that today is different than theirs times!
I just thought of something else, though certainly not an original thought as it I think it comes from a book about the city of Safed (Zefat) by David Rossoff.
The city was a centre of learning and Kabbalah 500 years ago, with great Rabbonim there. But an earthquake and plague came and nearly ruined the city. It was thought by some that these afflictions were sent by Hashem because Safed had been seen almost as a replacement for Jerusalem. It was not that what went on in Safed was bad, far from it, but that it is important to remember where the centre of our Kedushah is. So maybe some regarded the American East Coast Torah world almost as a "Second Jerusalem" rather than as a productive, but ultimately exile based, learning centre? But this is just one theory, and we do not know the answer.
Annon @ 8:56. What planet are you from, middot, honesty in business, you mean they would have to actually change their ways, what for, we have yom kippur!! We wonder why nothing improves.
So far I have been busy today. And since Rav Brody is in the US/ Canada for kiruv, getting a hold of him will be difficult. I will email him a question and wait for him to respond.
Rav Ariel Bar Tzadok was instructed by his Rav in Yerushalayim to provide a place of refuge for Jews in America so that they will make it through the Trials that are on the horizon now. He is correct in observing that the great test of this generation is b'chol Meodecha (with all the possessions that right now you have socked away in your basements). And that people simply have to give that up to survive the tests that are coming to the world. So he is setting up a viable option in Eastern Tennessee where the people are real inside and out, genuine people, and there is a high percentage of Noachides already. Yes, it is a Survivalist Camp that he is setting up. So you will have to learn martial arts which he knows well already and how to shoot in order to protect stores of non-perishable kosher food, hopefully a 3 year supply. And I am sure there will be an ample supply of chickens, sheep, and goats too. So animal husbandry skills and shochtim would be welcome. Here is his link: http://www.koshertorah.com/2012appeal.html
Yes he is the kosherTorah Rav. Speak to him and join him before the hammer comes down on the US. I just pray that Homeland Security just leaves him alone and does not try to close him down.
There is a shiur from Rav Leuchter about how to respond to the hurricane:
http://ravleuchter.com/
Is this Rav in Yerushalaim provides same instruction for Israelis?
And the Rav in Yerushalaim don't tell people to leave their places in Diaspora?
Obviously Aliyah is the best option, but so many decent American Jews will not listen to that advice. So there has to be a fall back option for those who are not leaving America in order to survive. As a previous commenter said, G-d will eventually come and fetch the Jews who are in America, if they don't make the move themselves. Yet, they have to survive and thrive in the interim. It is definitely better than staying in the urban lowlife states of the Northeast or in California, where the goyim don't have a basic inkling regarding the difference between good and evil, holy and the unholy. They voted for an intensely evil man a 2nd time. So one can't expect them to make a basic moral decision in a crisis. The Rav in Yerushalayim sees four or five million Jews or less in America, depending on the percentages of intermarriage today, who need a place to survive so that when G-d comes to fetch them, they are still around.
how much time we have to "run"?
weeks or months. until "All the nations of the world try to remove the daughter or house of Ya'akov from the world" in the year 73. Hurricane Irene was really the last warning. That Hurricane was post New York granting marriage contracts to homosexuals. It was as another commenter said above, "the shot across the bow". How much time after Sandy is difficult to know exactly. The daughter of Ya'akov in that Zohar refers to Jews all over the world. If it had meant the State of Israel, it would have said Beit Yisrael instead of Bat or Beit Ya'akov.
Dov Bar-Leib has prophesy returned?
No, this is just the Zohar VaYeira 119 which has an astonishingly accurate track record. Both events for 5760 and 5766 did occur in 5760 and 5766. So did the astronomical alignment of Siwan 5772. So the subject matter for 5773 is probably accurate too.
78,000 signatures on a petition for Texas to secede from the United States since Friday with a full four more weeks to gather signatures. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-texas-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/BmdWCP8B
Peaceful? my foot. Several counties in Texas are banding together for a revolution after the 11th horn dude laughs at the petition and sends all signators a tax audit...at the very least.
Millions of other American entrepreneurs, mostly from red states, headed for the exits, most of them to Canada. And you think your life on the Northeastern seaboard is just gonna stay the same. really? All because the most unusual hurricane in American History one week before the election made this evil little man look Presidential and compassionate.
Why are you saying that? Mayor Bloomberg told him not to come. He didn't want Obama there for a bs photo op. If anything, that would have an opposite effect on the election. Obama didn't do anything to help.
Also millions of Americans leaving? Why haven't we heard about the mass exodus Dov Bar Leib?
Yes, but Chris Christie from the state across the Hudson praised the little evil man for helping New Jersey with Superstorm relief, and most of the voters who were convinced to swing their vote for Obamanation were not in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut and possibly Pennsylvania. The other 46 states saw a decided swing toward Obama in the days after Sandy especially in the swing states. 45% of Americans were immensely influenced by the Main Stream media's portrayal of Obama after the hurricane and said so in exit polls. Chris Christie's praises helped Obama a lot. (not to blame Gov. Christie. He was dealing with a catastrophe of immense proportions. And he "seems" like a genuine caring man who loves his state.)
Yes, most Americans in red states though don't think like your abomination and Obamanation intoxicated gentile neighbors in New York City. The full scope of who is leaving and to where has not been told yet. But here is a glimpse.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/local-traffic-reporter-gives-directions-to-canada-after-romney-loss/
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
Sorry, it was only 41% who were influenced in a major way to vote for Obama nationwide.
http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2012/11/06/1152421/exit-polls-2012-hurricane-sandy-was-a-deciding-factor-in-the-election/
This is actually a CBS exit poll. Actually yes, Christie helped because of the extreme pressure with dealing with a catastrophe of epic proportions in his state. The important thing is to look at the Divine Providence, that G-d wanted the little evil man re-elected. So the question is how to respond to that far more global crisis that G-d for whatever reason wanted to damn America into extinction, in the words of Obama's former preacher Rev. Wright. (but not for the reasons that Jeremiah Wright outlined.)
Novominsker rebbe on Sandy
http://thepartialview.blogspot.com/2012/11/novominsker-rebbe-at-agudah-kinus.html
Dov, you said you will ask Rav Lazer, also why when it was siyum Hashas in New York many Rosh Yeshivas were there and gave speech and praised american Jews for such a even as Kiddush Hashem why nobody speak that we have to leave?
Check out Chabad.org for another view on the Hurricane.
We can all try to be better, but no one has yet solved the mystery of the Holocaust ( and many have tried) so why should we believe that anyone has the key to this Hurricane, which is minor in comparison.
As to mass exodus from America, I think that is an overreaction, premature and irresponsible. Who will support the Israeli kollels if everyone leaves the US?
So, with Geulah, Jews have to remain in America to support Kollels in Israel. Unbelievable. I spoke to Rav Pinchus Winston today for half an hour about American Jewish response to the epic changes over the last two weeks (Sandy and the elections), and he warned me about this. He said that plain and simple, most American Jews want to stay in America, mostly for gashmiyut (that you can sock away in your American basement.) You can't even conceive that Israel will soon be the nerve center of the world in terms of commerce and Ruchniyut. You have overstayed your time in galut, and it is now crashing around you, and you have the arrogance to think that Israel needs American Jews to support Kollels in Israel...forever. I can't really respond to the insanity of that statement. But just consider, your house has lost 40% of its value in the US since 2006 or 2007. Does that possibly mean that the US is 40% less wealthy? maybe? And with the evil Marxist being re-elected, you think that some Americans might just head for friendlier shores with their wealth in tow making America that much less wealthy? and that much less entrepreneurial? Will they stand for a massive tax hike on the rich like Hollande did in France? Americans who like their freedoms in the red states suffered under the Marxist in Chief for 4 years with the hope that the nightmare would end...but because of Sandy apparently it has only just begun. And in the NorthEastern seaboard and in other blue states, because you live with gentiles who like Obamanation, you simply can't see it.
I will try to talk with Rav Brody soon, but he is still in Canada. So I may have to wait a few days.

pshat yid
Stop blaming Sandy. It is all from G-d.
Why are you the only one talking like this? I do not hear your words being uttered by the gedolim in Israel.
Aren't we taught that someone else's gashmiut is our ruchniut? and that righteous people are extra attached to their belongings, which they acquired with much honest effort, like Yaakov Avinu who risked his life for a few worthless clay containers? And if really Moshiach will arrive in a few months, is this a good reason not to build synagogues in Brooklyn? People will travel even in the days of the third temple. Or do you expect the rest of the world to become as barren as the Mars highlands? OK fair enough, we are taught that any land, if devoid of jews, withers and becomes uninhabitable. But where would nonjews resettle?
Ya'akov Avinu went to Lavan's house for 20 years. He then returned to Eretz Yisrael by...walking, at least through his own efforts. G-d did not send him a magic carpet to bring him back with all of his belongings. He managed to find a way to transport all the goods and flocks that he had acquired in Charan without the magic carpet. It took him two years to get home. (That is another story.) Now it might take 13 hours at most from anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere to mount up on the wings of an eagle to return with all of your belongings in tow (three suitcases for each member of your household with a free ticket on the El Al eagle plus three duty free lifts in the first three years of your Aliyah on the shipping line of your choice).
Come with your gashmiyut (I would suggest to bring some 220V major appliances too.) to where you belong. But keep in mind, 99% of all homes here in EY are not built with basements. Basements are a specially ordered thing to aak from a kablan for a price. So keep that in mind when you pack your 40 foot trailer lift. There is simply less room to sock away as much gashmiyut.
ask from the kablan not aak. sorry for the typo.
Why should I move to Israel against daas Torah (you do not think I should accept the answer?), living in a caravilla, relying on handouts, and having my children quickly learn the word I least want them to learn? A word I myself learned in Israel? "Dosim". I was educated to respect all human beings and certainly don't use racial epithets or derogatory words against any ethnic group, which I find unacceptable and disgusting. Let alone towards our fellow Jews. And btw, when a society will severely prosecute any sort of real or imaginary discrimination, except one which is instead encouraged - I draw a few conclusions.
There are plenty of Dati'im here without the anti-G-d jargon. When we made Aliyah, Tommy Lapid had just received 15 "I hate G-d" seats in the Knesset,...but we came anyway. And yes that was a major hurdle. Don't live amongst Kadima, Labor, and Meretz and yes a new generation of Lapid voters, and you will not hear the derogatory venom from those who hate G-d or think that He is irrelevant. Plus all of this stands to change very soon.
Of course if you like kiruv and you are suited for the venom to respond to it in order to bring those who are far away closer, move to Ramat Aviv or Petach Tikwah (which has a large Dati minority) and live in their midst. If you are not suited for that lifestyle, come to Kochav Ya'akov where residents are 100% Shomer Shabbat and where national religious live in harmony with Chareidim in Tel Tzion. Come and investigate. Make choosing a community a priority.
"Dosim" does not mean datim. It is a derogatory term which refers to Jews who dress like they did in old-day Europe, usually speak yiddish, do not serve in the military, do not send their children to the mainstream state schools, and whom the use of this word seeks to represent as uneducated lazy parasites. It is a word that does not belong among civilized people and which in Europe would land people in court. My experience of Israeli society appears to have been different from yours, and I am sorry to say I did not learn the word from secular Israelis.
Why do you suggest that people should come to Israel and do kiruv? Sure there will very soon be no need for kiruv, if Moshiach is coming. But I do not believe Moshiach is imminent: if really the events were a few years away, our gedolim would say that Moshiach has already started work and soon will be recognizable to everyone. If Moshiach, as you maintain, appeared in 5766 and has been hidden since, do you know his name? Does your rabbi? I am not asking you to publish it and not even to tell me privately - only if you know. That's the very first condition, and then unfortunately there is always the possibility of a Shabbatai Tzvi style fiasco, which actually worries me more than the US elections.
Daniella: I know Dosim is a derogatory word for Ashkenazi Chareidim with a thick Yiddish accent. We don't use that word in our household. Find a community where people don't use that word. Stay away from people who do. And your children can do other forms of national service to the Jewish people who now number over 6 million here. 600,000 in 1947. 600,000 men from 20 and up in 1967. 6 million now. Here we go again.
Dov, I don't believe you neither, if you really care about Jews in Diapora then please provide his name of the Rav and how to contact him to answer our questions. I promise that next step will be my consideration to move to EY ASP if I see that what you say is said by him.(if you really care you should tell us). This is will be clear for all of us and your Chesed will be rewarded. or email me at:
bakuny@yahoo.com
Rav Lazer Brody told me some shocking things several months ago about how a very righteous mekubal by the name of Rav Leibowitz told him three things that would happen before Mashiach came
1. The Arabs would start massacring themselves in large numbers...Check
2. Bibi Netanyahu would desire to attack Persia, but Divine Providence would keep getting in the way and would prevent him from doing so.....Check
3. I am not at liberty to say this without getting Rav Brody's consent to say it. Ok? You can either wait until I get his consent, or you should start packing now. And don't forget to bring 220V appliances with you. I know for a fact that 220V refrigerators and freezers are cheaper at Broadway Appliance in Aurora, IL than they are here. And your lift shipment is duty free.
Thank you for your answers and I did not mean to insinuate you use the word - only to remark the existance, among Israelis, of (a minority of) rude and vulgar people who do. The world is not all black and white, not everything outside Israel is filth, and unfortunately, not everything in Israel is golden.
1. I was told, 30+ years ago, by some very ordinary Rabbi in the depths of the Diaspora, that before Moshiach, the Arabs will kill each others in hundred of millions in a nuclear war, and the Arabs that are left will be Jews' best friends and openly recognize the special role of the jewish people, and this will be a sign Moshiach is very close. Then when Moshiach is revealed, the Yismaelis, not the Jews, will clean up the Temple Mount area. I don't think the riots of the Arab Spring or even the civil war in Syria qualify, and surely the second part is still far in the future.
2. I wonder if there is any truth to the rumor that Netanyahu has sought the blessing of various different gedolim for attacking Iran nuclear sites, and all of them have refused.
3. No one can comment on what we don't know, but spreading baseless fear will only ensure that our grand-grand-grand-grandchildren (if they exist and if they are jewish) will greet Moshiach in 6000, as any merits that may bring him earlier will be rendered worthless.
There is nothing baseless about my claims or the claims of Rav Leibowitz before he died. How you choose to react is your own business. But I am telling you precisely because I do care about you. The Galut outside of the Land of Israel is over. It is kaput. finished and will not rise again. Where you want to be during the transition, however long it may last, is up to you and Heavenly Providence.
And this is b'itah. The previous Shmittah cycle of the real Gog ben Gog from the Land of Magog was wasted because some in our midst decided to enable the Disengagement in 5765 so that Mashiach appearing in the South Lebanon War of 5766 was at a very low level, without his personal appearance. Anyone who enabled the Disengagement of 5765 committed a very evil act. Half a million people in Southwest Israel have lived in terror for the last 7 years because of that evil act. Children's lives were ruined. In some communities, people have lived in bomb shelters more than they have lived their lives in the light of day. And this in not even mentioning the destruction of Jewish Gaza where four yeshivot were destroyed and communities were destroyed, and 10,000 people were sent into temporary homes for a full Shmittah cycle. Homes in Sederot and Netivot have lost huge percentages of their value. Look into who enabled this act of sheer cruelty, and you will understand why we missed the Gog opportunity and now all we have left is the half Muslim half Xtian (iron and clay) 11th horn dude from the Book of Daniel. This Shmittah cycle is for keeps, and all the enablers from both the Erev Rav and the Erev Ze'ir will either be crushed or will do a full teshuvah from the sheer terror of it all. There is no more waiting until the year 6000. When Persia has its full array of nuclear weapons and goes forth to destroy the world, (most likely in 5775), there will be no more delays. If Ben David comes earlier, we will all breathe a sigh of relief that G-d has short-circuited the terror. Ask yourselves: How did we mess up a Biblical opportunity described in detail in Ezekiel 38 and 39? answer: by committing a horrible atrocity against each other that Moshe Rabbeinu himself saw it as the last thing he saw in Eretz Yisrael on the day that he passed on. The evacuation of the City of Date Palms: Kirvat Dekaliya. Was it inevitable? No. But those who choose the path of human indecency cannot delay it in this Shmittah cycle as they did in the last one.
This is my last response until I speak to Rav Lazer Brody. bye.
Dov I never said the words that you report (and which I assume to be correct) are baseless. I am saying first of all that insinuating fear in our brothers is baseless, because it has been written and sealed already for the whole year, who will live and who will die, as well as how those who are destined to, will pass from this world. Moving to Israel will not save anyone, and if indeed someone had the merit of being killed as a kadosh - which very few people have - they will lose it.
I also consider baseless to represent as absolute certainties, among other statements, that in the next few months or years, millions of Jews will be forced to run away from France, UK, EU, US and lose all their possessions G-d forbid, that millions of people with leave the USA, that Texas will secede, and similar claims. They may well be possibilities, which incidentally most Rabbis don't consider fit being repeated, but by no means are absolute certainties. One thing is stating that we live in troubled times which I am sure we all agree, another thing is to be deluded we can predict the future, yet another thing is to think moving to Israel is the one-size-fits-all solution, and yet another thing is the attempt to force the Geulah, which is obviously both forbidden and impossible.
Are there any reputable gedolim who are endorsing all of this? Please post the names. I am a female, but I will send someone and have it checked.
^^ "correct" should read "correctly repeated". Apologies for the typo.
Maybe this is what Dov Bar-leib is referring to ? If not - we'd like to hear.
"Rav Yehuda Zev Lebowitz of saintly and blessed memory was a Kabbalist and hidden tzaddik as well as a Holocaust survivor. Little is known of him, for he lived his life far away from spotlights. Yet, his word carried tremendous weight in the Heavenly realm. What many don't know is that he was one of Rav Shalom Arush's principle spiritual guides. Rav Yehuda Zev, a holy man with the eyes of a sonogram, could not stomach anything other than absolute holiness. Many big rabbis were therefore afraid to approach him, for he could smell if they were the real deal or not. He loved Rav Shalom. He didn't leave much in the physical world, but he bequeathed his tefillin to Rav Shalom.
Before he died, he told Rav Shalom three things, the first two of which have materialized:
1. Uprisings and infighting will sweep through the Arab countries;
2. Bibi will not be able to attack Iran; Hashem will use other means as He did with Sadaam Hussein.
I don't want to repeat the third thing that Rav Yehuda Zev said, for it hasn't materialized yet. But, I urge our cherished brothers and sisters outside of Israel to start praying and planning to make Aliya, the sooner the better
The third thing America will go down a bad hill after november ^^ Election. "

all the best
Ben
Ben, thank you for you comment, but we are waiting for Dov to get names of rabbi(s) who can cofirm that.
Right now I see with my eyes that cituation in EY not better than in the US, I mean rockets all over and may be soon in will hit the center (G-d forbid).
Rav Lazer Brody just gave me permission to mention the 3rd thing that would happen before Mashiach comes and Obama never leaves office:
3. There will be pogroms in the United States
Deal with this information as you might want to. Many will laugh and many will scorn. And many will simply dismiss moving to a war zone in Eretz Yisrael. But you can never say that you have not been warned. You all wanted to know. So there it is. Please be safe, and take care of yourselves. If you being told to stay by your shul Rav, then you are being misled. The same thing happened in Europe in the mid to late 1930s even if back then all the doors were closed. Today the door to Eretz Yisrael is wide open. As with everything else, it is your choice.
If you want to ask Rav Lazer Brody about the veracity of what Rav Leibowitz claimed before he died, you can ask Rav Brody yourself. He will be back in Israel on Tuesday night, or you might have to email him if he is stuck in the United States because of the war.
Here is his first post on the first two things that Rav Leibowitz said:
http://lazerbrody.typepad.com/lazer_beams/2012/01/rav-yehuda-zevs-legacy.html
Sorry for removing you from your comfort zones. G-d never promised a magic carpet ride except for those who make it to the time that Ben David actually shows up (which might not be until 5776). Please take caution with your lives. Yes, we live in a war zone, and you have your gashmiyut and your basements to sock it all away, but the choice to be here is always that. It is a choice. as it was with your ancestors wandering around the Midbar 3323 years ago. And back then they did not have basements even if they had a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud to lead them. Nice name for a military operation. I prefer Pillar of Fire. Pillar of Cloud sounds like a James Bond operation.
If it is not a secret anymore and we can deal with this information as I we want the first thing I will go to Rav Belsky for the advise how to react to this information. Bli Neder this erev Shabat I will see him.
If it has been written and sealed that someone, G-d forbid, will die a violent death, how does it help to suggest we disrespect our Rabbis whom we have already asked, and who are not advising to move to Israel?
We should instead try to be close to each others and help each others rebuild what is destroyed and to buy and replace what had to be thrown out, whether in Brooklyn or Ashdod, whether it's a sefer Torah or an apartment, and we should care deeply, from the core of our souls, for our brother's need, as opposed to disparagingly calling them gashmiut. We have a mitzva to give as much as it's needed to impoverished people, so that they can maintain the lifestyle they have been accustomed to. The Torah has not changed and the halacha has not changed, nor will it be changed by king Moshiach. We should not have foreign ideas that promote "frugality", and certainly not at all when it's someone else's.
Our grand-grandparents and ancestors who suffered pogroms for generations, did not demand Moshiach, but rather lived every day in anticipation, and were aware that we might die any day and for any reason -- and we should make the most of life as it's given to us. We should learn from them. I do not think we will get pogroms as we are not strong enough to withstand them, nor do we merit to be kedoshim, which is reserved to very special people only. But there may be pogroms anywhere, and Israel is no exception. In fact, there may be pogroms and no Moshiach in our lifetime. Yet we must do our work and if we do, surely our jewish grandchildren and grand-grandchildren will greet Moshiach.
Very good Daniela, but Rav Belsky is my rabbi, I never asked before other rabbis and information I just received from Dov very hard to digest. I prefer to get advise from my rabbi rather from bloggers when and how to make my aliya.
Thank you Anonymous. I have been recommending everyone to ask their Rabbi and do as he says.
Please, can you ask Rav Belsky if he can share words of advice with all of us. I would be very grateful to you as well as I'm sure many other readers.
I wrote to R. Lazer and I got auto response from him:
B"H
Shalom! We'll be outside of Israel during the coming weeks with very limited time and web access. See www.lazerbrody.net for our speaking-tour itinerary in the USA and Canada. Write david@breslev.co.il for more information or to set up a private appointment. Blessings always, LB
then I wrote to David and I did not get response back yet.
I think it is rumors about pogroms, how come all blogers writing about it and saying it is not a secret anyhmore but R. Lazer the one who heard never commented before. I will wait for their response before I go to Rav Belsky.
Dov to which email you wrote him, private?
I cannot necessarily give out his private email address without his permission. His response to me is on my End of Days blogsite in my most recent post about the pogroms. He will be home in Ashdod either tonight or Wednesday morning. I have his office phone number here too, but I also need his permission to give that out too. Try him at his blogsite email address on Wednesday. If for some reason he is stuck in the US, I will need his permission to give out what might be for him, personal information. But you can see his response on my blogsite. I did not compose his response to me, and on several occasions he has privately told me the third thing that Rav Leibowitz told Rav Shalom Arush before he passed on. I understand the need to speak with Rav Brody or Rav Arush personally about this. I also have a cell phone number for Rav Arush which we rarely use because he is so so busy.
They never speak in front of witnesses because when their victims bring them to accounting, they blame people for misunderstanding. Don't expect them to take any responsibility if you follow their advice.
Dov, it seems you have good connections with, may be you ask him when he comes back to post it on his site , to make clear for everybody, and it is not a secret anymore like he said that to you. Please, talk to him.
If he said that he must post it, otherwise it will be consider as rumors that no one shouuld believe you or him.
Dov, we are waiting for LB response, he don't answer me.
http://yearsofawe.blogspot.com/2012/11/pogroms-in-united-states.html#comments ---> this is the well paid Anti Tsionists Agitation to get Jews from their places to EY, motivating with scary things and rumors for pogroms in the US. No names gives , no confirmations. Nobody should listen to them, they are soul damagers and sparks of Shabatai Tsvi, or if not just prove it with real names who can confirm!
R. Lazer Brody told you that it will be pogroms in the US, let him post on his website! stop playing with peoples lives!!!
You will have to get in contact with Rav Brody if you want immediate answers. I have emailed him to post something. The Rav has jet lag and is speaking at Chut Shel Chessed right now. If you want immediacy, call him at his office in Eretz Yisrael. He is dealing with a lot right now, including missiles in Ashdod. I have no idea when he is going to post. The statement posted on my blog is verily true. He even said to post it, and that statement from him is on my blog too. I have lived here for nine years. If I were an anti-Zionist, I would have left for Western Canada years ago. I stuck it out through thick and mostly thin. I was in Newe Dekalim 4 times before a bunch of ignorant fools destroyed the place with all of its Torah and yeshivot. Get a life. best to do it here. The gilgul of Shaul HaMelekh is dying as of today on Shaul HaMelekh St. in Tel Aviv. The star of something much better is on the rise.
or email him, one way or another MAKE IT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET A HOLD OF HIM!! My responsibility was to inform you so that you had more time to pack and leave if you can. At least start the Aliyah process by opening a tik with the Jewish Agency or with an Israeli Consulate near you.
If he so care about Jews, while going for his turne why he don't speak up, but only messages through somebodys, if it is true that his obligation to tell people while he is going around the world!
I wrote him and his secretary David, did not get answer, please pass this message to him. Here he praises american Jews and no words of danger, how come?!
or Dov, you just made it up by yourself all this pogrom stories, what are you saying is not not working one with another
"or email him, one way or anothe" I emailed him and answered straight question if he said that or not. No replies, now it is your responsobility because what you heard or not heard and post on your blog you have to prove that it was saying by him, right now he did not confirm that!
I emailed him and asked...
if he not speak up then it is 100% rumors and someone will be responisible for those messages
Listen to his latest broadcast from Chut Shel Chessed. He said in on his broadcast.
Here is what he just sent me.
Aliya right away - I said so on the air today. With blessings always, LB
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone from Pelephone
Call him yourself, and ask him. But stop spitting your venom at me. I am just a messenger. If you want to play the role of the meraglim, that is your business with G-d. You have no excuse. You can speak to him yourself.
Aliya right away? Without asking one's rabbi? Is this the proper way to behave?
When these people will have sold everything they own, to go to Israel where they can hardly take care of the jews they already have, when people suffer broken families, nervous breakdowns, OTD children, or worse - and then are forced to collect money for returning - who will take responsibility? Let me guess, people like us will be moved and give something, while other people will say "You did not have enough emuna" or "You misunderstood me".
The story is drifting. First, Moshiach was coming right away, and in any case before 5776. Now we have to buy appliances, but downsize our lifestyle. The only constant is the brainwashing about moving to Israel at any cost, insinuating events even worse than death, insinuating that everyone outside Israel will be "lost". Thank you, HKBH has our address and phone number.
Do you have a mesorah, Dov? Did your grandfather tell you that when there are pogroms in USA and in Europe (and, thank G-d, there are not) we run to Eretz Israel? If so, awesome, you are there and that's where you should be. However it is not appropriate to keep insisting with people who have different opinion and whose rabbis told them differently. Those who can't respect my Rabbi, will respect me when I am helpless in Israel? Those who demean my Rabbi, will empower and support me when I am helpless in Israel? This is the question anyone considering aliyah after reading these blogs, should ask themselves.
Would you like a portion in Israel? You don't have to make aliyah. Take some money, an amount you can afford, and support someone in Israel, whatever you like, an institution, an individual, a business. Mulling about the future is useless: there is a reason we don't know the day of our death.
This is from Rav Brody:
I'll say something tonight, IY"H...
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone from Pelephone
So I have completed my job. But I must say. Now I understand the gilgulim of the meraglim are just as filled with venom as the Erev Rav. The hatred is palpable. It is just that the Erev Ze'ir is far less numerous. You may not have voted for Obama so that the entire world could praise you, but you desire to stay where you are more than your desire for Geulah. But please be careful about your rejection of living in Eretz Yisrael. If you have the means, you should come now. If not, long to be here instead. And we will all pray that G-d gives you the means. If communities come as a group, provide a place for the poor amongst you. This will be my last comment on this post.
This shtuyot has all been an example of shoot the messenger. He just got back last night, has spent a good portion of his sleeping hours in a bunker in Ashdod (once at 2am and once at 4am), and just finished giving a shiur at Chut Shel Chessed. Yet, you are looking for blood with bloody rage already because he has not met your demands. Shame.
Dov are you accusing every single rabbi - from haredim to MO, from dati leumi to chassidim - except from the two or free you mention, to be reincarnation of the meraglim, erev zeir, corrupt people who don't care for their fellow jews, and all the other insults you have graced us with? Yes or no? If no, please finally provide at last the names of mainstream and respected rabbis who are willing to say in public that it is permissible to plant terror in Jewish hearts and souls (as if there were not enough of that), about supposed pogroms in Europe and Usa, in order to induce Jews to make aliyah. If not........
Why he is communicating through you, why h can't say that straiht if it is not a secret and danger involve for kalal israel in the US, why to play hide and seek?
No, Daniela just the ones who defend their decision with derision on the one that says get up and leave and come to EY. If they defend their position honorably, without venom or heaping scorn, then they have not necessarily lead others astray. People in their congregations can check out the truth for themselves and make their own decision by calling Gedolim outside of their comfort zones and by quietly checking things out for themselves.
Dov, you are disinforming us or the one who told you disinforming you, you or him can not prove what is said about pogroms, you just using your tactics as usual to scare us. No proves so far
The purpose is to save your life not to scare you. It is a great rishut to interpret motives and to toss out false accusations as a Molotov Cocktail. an apparent tactic of the meraglim in Parshat Shlach L'cha too. Please check the facts out for yourself and make your own decision as a responsible adult. If you want to stay in America, stay. We all live with our decisions.
What does it mean outside of comfort zone? I hope it does not mean outside of orthodox judaism. Anyway, can we have the names of those Gedolim who hold all this permissible, so that we may call them and verify. Why all this delay, is it so difficult to provide a few names? Or are there none?
This is really my last response:
Yaakov Bar Nahman
Rav Bar Nahman knows a boatload of Rabbeim saying the same thing. It is your responsibility to check it out for yourself.
The purpose is to save? Oh where oh where did I already hear that one? Thank you, I need no saviour, and besides I am perfectly aware that I am a mortal and I will die. How and when I will die will not be decided by false prophets, though.
You want to help people make aliyah? Make a donation to nefesh b'nefesh or whatever other organization you like. Make a donation to some olim chadash you like.
Rav Bar Nahman
webdoar@gmail.com
will LB speak up or not?
It is my responsibility to check it out, that exactly what I am doing now, I am checking you that what LB said to you, I have no response from him that he said that, you words worth nothing , nothing to explain to us, figure out how you will explain it the Shammaim for such as harsh rumors
so far no one confirmed talking about pogroms
I posted my comment on LB's page(comment#2), did not get response yet, and I asked Rav Lazer second time straight that one of his talmidim said from his words about pogroms, this comment was not publish, so either it is rumors or these messages still in secret.
Meanwhile peoples imaginations on Dov's page working "good". Becareful what you wish, you will get as harsh as it is back.
I feel like throwing up.
Still I would like to know if Dov Bar-Leib is a sick rasha who invents sick rumors or if Lazer Brody is a sick rasha who invents sick rumors and uses his talmidim to spread them around and then abandons his talmidim to face the consequences alone.
I've got reply from R. Lazer:
Dear R. Lazer, I am very concerned what R. Leibowitz told exactly, because one of your talmid said from your words that is going to be pogroms. If it is true it is mitsva to tell us about this coming of danger(G-d forbid). Waiting for your reply. Thank you.

Bakuny, I've been imploring people over and over to make Aliya. Rav Leibowitz zatza"l was explicit in what he told Rav Shalom, and he never made a mistake. The word he used was a lot stronger than pogroms. This is no joke - I won't say more, for I pray that we'll all make yeshiva and return to Hashem, hoping that Hashem will bring us Geula B'rachamim - redemption in mercy.
Posted by: LazerBeams | Thursday, 22 November 2012 at 10:00 PM
to tell the truth I don't understand what word he used and why Dov used word "pogrom", and since R. Lazer woun't say more then I'll ask my Rav tomorrow Bli Neder what is that supposed to mean.
"Make yeshiva"? Is this the senior rabbi we are supposed to trust with our possessions and our very lives?
Rav Lazer meant to write Teshuvah not Yeshivah. Teshuvah for Shomer mitzvot Jews is to start doing those mitzvot and mitzvot dependent on the Land of Israel in Eretz Yisrael, not in Seagate or Five Towns or for that matter in Flatbush or Borough Park. For the stronger word than pogroms, I can't speak it either. His message is Teshuvah out of Love not fear. So he does not want to frighten people to death. best to leave it at that. Shabbat Shalom, and see you all soon here in EY.
Yosef still alive!
What most likely happened is that when he meant Teshuvah, he was thinking of Yishuv HaAretz (settling in Eretz Yisrael) as the Teshuvah for already Torah observant Jews. Yishuv and Yeshivah are the same Hebrew shoresh.
Nice try Dov, that is the prayer of Mashiah who will gather us from all 4 corners , we all pray that, my problem is why Gedoley Israel quiet and keep in secret that information that can damage Jews(G-d forbid), this is exactly what I want to ask Rav Belsky.
Please Dov don't insult our intelligence. We all have learned the alefbet, females included.
Anonymous, because all of that is sheker gamur.
B'H" I will write tomorrow what Rav Belsky thinks about "pogroms", secret words and other things that I will ask him.
"Teshuvah for Shomer mitzvot Jews is to start doing those mitzvot and mitzvot dependent on the Land of Israel in Eretz Yisrael, not in Seagate or Five Towns or for that matter in Flatbush or Borough Park."
The new religion of yours puts Talmud Yerushalmi above Talmud Bavli?
The spiritual galut is not over yet, but the geirut, separation from EY is. So the Talmud Bavli still applies.
Here is one way to prepare to leave. Get yourselves a laminated Nusach for separating Terumot and Ma'aserot for separating out all fruits and vegetables in every year except the Shmittah year. This is especially useful if you are going to plant gardens or actually own fruit trees. By having this nusach you will be able to do so many mitzvot:
1. Terumah Gedolah
2. Ma'aser Levi
3 Terumat Ma'aser (Normally this in incumbent on the Levi to do, but if one has the minhag of keeping Ma'aser Levi until the Beit HaMikdash is rebuilt, then the owner of the fruit must also do Terumat Ma'aser
4. Ma'aser Sheini in years 1,2,4, and 5 of the Shmittah cycle. Today one has membership in a organization with a coin to batel Ma'aser sheini on the coin. There is such an organization/ Yeshivah in Har Nof that most people in the Yerushalayim area use.
5. Ma'aser Ani in years 3 and 6. This cannot be bateled. One is required to give Ma'aser Ani either by giving the fruit directly to an Ani or by giving money to tzedakah equivalent to the value of the fruit. And then there is a statement in the Torah said at the end of years 3 and 6 that one reads aloud declaring that one has completed each three year cycle until the Shmittah year by correctly doing Terumot and Ma'aserot. I would suggest that it be laminated because it is done amongst pomegranates which leak juice. Shabbat Shalom. Look at all the mitzvot that you can prepare to do by getting one of these laminated nusachs.
I could not go to the yeshiva today talk to Rav, something emergency came up, B'H" I will try to go on sunday.
Shabbat Shalom

It is your decision, not mine.
One exception to the above about the Talmud Bavli. Seder Zeraim has no Gemorah on almost all the masechtot except Brachot. For all those masechtot in Zeraim, besides Brachot, Talmud Yerushalmi applies.

I am sorry I did not go to Rav Belsky today neither, this question bothers me why people keep in secret things that I think should be said. As soon as I talk to Rav I will post it on this site, sorry again that I was keeping you waiting.
I remember approximately 10 years ago before I was married, I asked Rav Belsky that I want to make aliya, but I am the only son and my mother is very sick. He told me that according to halacha I can leave her and go to EY, but my instinct did not allow me to leave my mother.
Baruh Hashem I married here in Brooklyn, NY, have children, Hashem blessed me with everything I need. I opened tick number with NBN and B'H" I pray that we can smoothly to make our aliya.
