Frankel Family Gets Answers From Rishonim Letzion About Kaddish
At two separate occasions during Shiva, Avraham Frankel, the father of Naftali Frankel HY"D, asked Rishonim Letzion Rav Yitzhak Yosef Shlit"a and Rav Shelomo Moshe Amar Shlit"a the following question:
You have told me that my son is at the top level of Gan Eden. If so, what is the purpose of reciting Kaddish for him? Isn't Kaddish supposed to raise the level of the soul to higher levels? His soul is already on the top level!
Kikar has Rav Yosef's answer:
There are various levels of pleasure in Gan Eden. Reciting Kaddish raises the soul of the departed to a higher level of pleasure.
Ladaat has Rav Amar's answer:
Indeed they are at the highest level, but reciting the Kaddish doesn't only benefit the departed - it benefits the one who recites it as well since it draws kindness and mercy from Above to the one who recites it and his entire family.

do you know whether it is left-wing slander or whether it is true?
It's probably true. She said it along with the men. This shouldn't bother most people. It is well within halacha for her to do so and I've seen it done myself, although it's usually said by women quietly while men say it louder.
There is nothing earth-shattering about that article.
Thank you for stating the Halacha. Rachel, is a Rabbanit:
"She is also a yo’atzot halakha in Hebrew (Jewish law adviser) for women".
This is another dichotomy between true Halacha and European mesorah, where only the men did so. This is one of the reasons why Jews ad to return to their Land (in my opinion).
Rejecting our mesorah and minhagim is no different than rejecting the whole Torah. In Israel some of those who call themselves religious have rejected Lo Tirzach already.
Eyal, Yaakov Naftali, and Gilad Michael have the iniials amen yud-gimel-whatever that may mean.
