Another 5778 Geula Hint

(Thanks to Dovid S. in a comment to an earlier post who started me on the path of this idea.)

Bereishit 19:37:

לז  וַתֵּלֶד הַבְּכִירָה בֵּן, וַתִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ מוֹאָב:  הוּא אֲבִי-מוֹאָב, עַד-הַיּוֹם.37 And the first-born bore a son, and called his name Moab--the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

The gematria of this verse is 2045 and is the only complete verse in the entire Torah with that gematria (thanks to SodTorah for help with these gematrias).

Bereishit 12:42:

מב  לֵיל שִׁמֻּרִים הוּא לַיהוָה, לְהוֹצִיאָם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם:  הוּא-הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה לַיהוָה, שִׁמֻּרִים לְכָל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְדֹרֹתָם.  {פ}42 It was a night of watching unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this same night is a night of watching unto the LORD for all the children of Israel throughout their generations. {P}

The gematria of this verse is 3733 and is the only complete verse in the entire Torah with that gematria.

2045 + 3733 = 5778

The Geula connections of these 2 verses are well-known.  One is telling us the who while the other is telling us the when.

The mother of Mo'av said "ונחיה מאבינו זרע" and the Midrash says that the Zera refers to the Mashiah.  As we know, Rut came from Mo'av and was the great-grandmother of King David, the progenitor of Mashiah.

The second verse refers to ליל שימורים, which is the night of the 15th of Nissan - a night that is guarded from demons.  As Targum Yonatan, Targum Yerushalmi, and the Or HaHayim Hakadosh all tell us, it is a night that Hashem used throughout the generations to save the Jewish people and will be used again to redeem us during the coming of Mashiah בב"א.

Interestingly, there is a difference of opinion as to when the angels visited Avraham.  One Midrash says that they came on פרס הפסח.  There are numerous opinions as to when that is.  (Some say it's 15 days before Pesah, some say it's on the first day of Pesah to match the Midrash later that says the destruction of Sedom was on the 16th of Nissan and some say it means the 17th of Nissan.)  Despite the difference of opinion, let's assume it is like a 4th opinion like the Re'em cited by Etz Yosef says - that it refers to Erev Pesah.  Rav Yehonatan Eybeshutz also agrees to this opinion.  If that's true, then the destruction of Sedom took place on the 15th of Nissan.  That means that the older daughter of Lot conceived Mo'av on the 16th of Nissan.  (See also here where it talks about Rut also becoming a Jewess on the 16th of Nissan, the same day that Mo'av was conceived.)

See page מ"ה of this downloadable pdf file where Rav Elyashiv ZT"L said that the rabbis have the power to make the 16th of Nissan into a ליל שימורים just like the 15th.  This tells us that the conception that eventually will have brought about Mashiah took place on the night that is destined to be a guarded night for the coming of Mashiah.  And the verses that tell us about it all add up to 5778.

May we see the coming of Mashiah speedily this year with mercy.  Amen.

3) Between אַשְׁרֵי and וּבָא לְצִיּוֹן during Shacharis, we say, “לַמְנַצֵּחַ... יַעַנְךָ ה' בְּיוֹם צָרָה, Hashem should answer us in our day of pain” (Tehillim 20:2). The Vilna Gaon says that there are 70 words in this chapter corresponding to the 70 years of the suffering the Jews will experience before Moshiach reveals himself (Siddur HaGra, Lamnatze’ach, Likutei HaGra). This period is called ’Chevlei Moshiach’ - the birth pangs of Moshiach.

5) The Maharal says, “The Gemara teaches that Moshiach will come in the year after a Shemittah because that is the number appropriate for him; that number reflects sublime character of Moshiach. For this world is a world of sevens and the concept of Moshiach is beyond this world; thus, he comes in the eighth year” [ובמוצאי שביעית בן דוד (http://bit.ly/2yHKRMq).
