1950 Years Part 4
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
An interesting thing Rav Fish mentions (quoting R' Menahem Barhum) in his latest newsletter is another interpretation of מועד מועדים וחצי:
Daniel was giving his vision in the era of Galut Bavel, where he saw the time periods that just completed and called those time periods "Moadim".
- מועד is the 480 years from Yetziat Mitrayim until the First Beit Hamikdash was built (as it says in Melachim Alef 6:1)
- מועדים is 2 "Mo'ed"s. Each Mo'ed is the 410 years the First Beit Hamikdash stood. Multiplied by 2 and you have 820. Add that to the first "Mo'ed" and you have 1300.
- וחצי is half of the running total (1300) which is 650.
Altogether, 1300 + 650 is 1950 - the number of years from the Hurban.
3 Comments:
so that brings us to 2020,
Also the current Rebbe began his nesiyus in 1950
The traditional date of the Hurban is 3828 - or 68CE despite the academic dating of 70CE.
1950+60=2018, I'll take it.
This is also good and ties is with the 222.222 idea.
