Why Was Kavanaugh Confirmed on Shabbat Bereishit?
Someone asked this question to Rabbi Kessin in his latest video at 1:32:24. Someone gave a possible answer while Rabbi Kessin suggested it was closer to Parashat No'ah. I will attempt to give a couple different possible answers below.
I previously compared Kavanaugh to Kavana (intent), which is spelled in Hebrew like this: כוונה. However, the Wikipedia spelling of his name is like this: ברט קוואנו.
The Milui (hayudin) of ברט קוואנו is:
בית
ריש
טית
קוף
ויו
ויו
אלף
נון
ויו
and its gematria equals 1810. If you add the 9 letters and the kollel, you get 1820.
The number 1820 is a special one. One of its qualities is that the Milui (ha'alfin) of the word בראשית equals 1820:
בית
ריש
אלף
שין
יוד
תאו
Another is that the gematria of every 7th word for 6 skips starting from ויכלו (which talks about Shabbat of Creation) equals 1820.
1820 has a whole bunch of other qualities. See the full video here (from sod1820) with the above 2 examples at 1:10 and 3:00 respectively:
So we see that Justice Kavanaugh is very much connected to Shabbat Bereishit.
I'm also reminded of the following Rashi (Shemot 18:13) that comes from Midrash and the gemara (not that it exactly fits Kavanaugh - it is clearly meant for Jewish judges who judge according to Torah - but IMHO, it also hints to how important good judges are even in secular society, as דינים is also required by Benei No'ah [some of the emphasis is mine]):
Is it any wonder that Kavanaugh's confirmation was delayed until this important date? FROM MORNING UNTO EVENING — Is it really possible to say so — that Moses sat the whole day long? But the explanation is that any judge who gives a rightful decision as truth demands it, even though he spends but one hour on it, Scripture accounts it to him as though he had occupied himself with the Torah the whole day long, and as though he became co-partner with the Holy One, blessed be He, in the work of the Creation of which it is stated, “It was evening and it was morning” (cf. Mekhilta d'Rabbi Yishmael 18:13; Shabbat 10a).

Also in Bereishit: "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. "
Let's hope that the SCOTUS will overturn "OBERGEFELL v. HODGES".
Excellent!
It is the Parsha of the creation of our world, along with it all the Brachot (foundations) for our living hereon, in modesty, and the “supreme” blessings of Shabbat.
All the Jews in the government that voted on Shabbat were desecrating the Shabbat, including “Schumer”. But like the ashes of the eigel, one who purifies becomes impure. YY, I see a remez but it is not clear.
