Torah Trivia for Pinehas
What is Levi's wife's name?
Hint: it's Mefurash in the Torah (Parshat Pinehas) according to מדרש אגדה.
Update No one ventured a guess at this so I'll tell you the answer - Levi's wife's name is Otah (אותה), as the verse states:
which can be translated as:
And the name of the wife of Amram was Yocheved, the daughter of Levi, to whom Otah gave birth for Levi in Egypt; and she [Yocheved] gave birth for Amram to Aharon, Moshe, and their sister, Miriam.
(The Midrash Aggada was apparently bothered by the seemingly extra word "אתה" and by the fact that the word ילדה is not vocalized as the passive "Yuleda".
Rashi was apparently bothered with the same question, but kept with Peshat and added the word אשתו, which would mean אתה is referring to Yocheved.)
