Yesha Rabbis: Flotilla Incident Start of Gog and Magog

The Rabbinical Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement Thursday in which it said that the results of Israel's interception of a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza "place us at the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but whose end orders the third and final redemption," according to the Kol Rinah news service. The reference is to the book of Ezekiel 38:18-39:16, read on the intermediate Sabbath of Sukkot (Tabernacles), which describes a war that will precede the final redemption.
The statement continued, "Secular Zionism always aspired that we not be 'a people alone among the peoples', but the legitimacy of our people is not derived from the nations of the world and their hateful traditions, rather from the Torah of Israel which teaches us, "The people will live alone and will not take other peoples into consideration." The council blessed the soldiers and called for the unity of an emergency government that will bring about promises of salvation for the people.

They're calling for the leadership of the state, composed of secular Zionists whose beliefs are antithetical to Torah, to unite to help bring the Geula? Sounds like they're living a fantasy. More like, when Gog u'Magog comes (and this might in fact be the precipitating event - I don't know), the state will dissolve away and the secular leadership will slink off to Paris. After all, even the kippa-wearing Avraham Burg obtained a French passport, and calls on all Israelis to do so as well!
I think that some on the left will awaken, and when they do will fight against the others and indeed (in their naivete) help bring the Geula.

In a way, this could be the beginning of the momentum. However, I kinda think it will begin faster and smaller, IOW it'll be here before you can blink an eye.

I agree it seems to be a preparation, setting the stage. But an actual guarantee that we're there? From what sign?
Akiva, I don't know, but like I said, it's likely Turkey's unfriendly nature that is causing it. My next post will BE"H spell this out more clearly.
