Spiritual Ways of Surviving the Hurricane
There are many physical things one can and should do to help yourself and loved ones survive the hurricane. However, there are, in addition, spiritual things that one can do.
Rabbi Y. Hoffman suggests having bitahon in Hashem, getting closer to Hashem, and reciting Tehillim Chapter 107.
As an aside, from a certain website, the rashei teivot of the first words of this week's perasha:
ראה אנכי נתן לפניכם היום ברכה וקללה
איירין = 281 = ראנל
The drush possibilities are endless.

my man i loveyour blog the most and almost always agree with you but i think the kabbalistic link should be taken down bec of the name of the rabbai on it very dangerous coming from someone who knows him
Thank you for your input. I expected comments like this.
You don't think the disclaimer makes my position clear enough?
ANYTHING that has the disgusting 'rabbi' berg is ASSUR. You have NO right as a religious Jew to post ANYTHING related to him. He is WORSE than a meshumad. He is dangerous and is so far removed from Torah that you are polluting your own neshamah by even including a hint to him. You should take off the link NOW. ASAP.
Post changed.
Thank you all for your input.
The religious community needs to reach out further into the secular Jewish world, with ahavat Yisrael & achdut because the danger of fake kabbalists has succeeded in filling the gap between religious & secular Jews. I was a secular Jew who became involved with Yeshiva Orthodoxy & loved discovering my heritage, the Torah & Israel. I was derailed from that path by mistaking that fake charlatan, who's name should be erased, with a true Jewish kabbalist. I'm a shattered being, now. I'm lost & confused. Those creeps used false, distorted interpretations of a wisdom I was not wise enough to understand & actually managed to almost turn me into an anti-Semite. Their group is anti-Semitic. They use their warped lies to defend hating religious Jews & Israel by making anti-Semitism seem "spiritual". They use "tikkun ha olam" to mean "liberal politics". I hurt myself, my closeness to Hashem, and I cannot emphasize enough just how truly dangerous that cult is. It is the most pleasant poison I've ever swallowed, until I realized I was dying- my Jewishness was dying. I was told to break all connection to my religious friends & relatives. I was shocked to hear Jewish, Israeli soldiers who guarded us on our tours of Israel, called "Nazi occupiers" by representatives of the false teacher. I was called a Zionist fanatic for asking why it was ok to hate Israel & religious Jews or why certain famous people were allowed to desecrate sacred holidays, etc. I eventually began to see the true nature of their schemes, when I finally confronted my doubts & asked questions. They teach that religious Jews are "not even human" and deserved the Holocaust, as they are "the source of all chaos". They also claim Jews are never mentioned in the Tanak. They mean to replace Jews with non-Jewish "Israelites". I need teshuva. Please, protect Am Yisrael & maybe pray for the redemption of fools, like me. Go out and do kiruv from your heart. These fake teachers succeed because we non-religious types want to have it our way. We tend to go where it is pleasant & easy. It's a flaw but recognize it because it's the key. Religiousity seems to regid, intolerant, & out-of-touch. Just welcome all Jews & let them be lazy, rather than rejecting or judging, because we are ignorant enough to view charlatans as a legitimate option. Chodesh tov.
