Bnei Brak Man Refuses Summons to Beit Din and Dies
**UPDATED** - SEE BELOW
Devarim Rabba on Shofetim:
Kikar reports that a man who was summoned to a Beit Din, refused summons repeatedly. Finally, Rav Wosner Shlit"a told the other litigant, "Don't worry. If he refuses judgement down here on earth, there is judgement up above."
A few days later, the store-owner who refused the summons got a heart attack and died.
Rav Shteinman Shlit"a, after verifying the story with Rav Wosner, was moved by the story. He noted that it reminded him of a story with R' Akiva Eiger, who repeatedly tried getting a man to divorce his wife, without success. R' Akiva Eiger finally told him that there are 2 ways that a marriage can be dissolved - either through a get or the death of the husband. If you don't choose the former, the latter will be chosen for you. The husband still refused, and immediately upon leaving the Beit Din, he died.
A similar story to this last story happened with Rav Gedalia Dov Schwartz Shlit"a (the Av Beit Din of the cRc and of the RCA) in Chicago a number of years ago.
Update This story has been verified false, per Kikar, says Rafi G.

The rosh yeshiva of a very famous American yeshiva has ignored a hazmana for 27 years. Nothing so far.
Well, if you want him dead so badly, the plaintiff needs Rav Wosner to make a statement then!
This story has been verified false, per Kikar, says Rafi G.
