Not Infallible
I find it quite ironic (read "Min Hashamayim") that while the cardinals are attempting to install their "infallible" pope (an oxymoron if I ever heard one), we are in the midst of Parshat Vayikra, where we read:
and
As it says in Kohelet: כִּי אָדָם, אֵין צַדִּיק בָּאָרֶץ--אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה-טּוֹב, וְלֹא יֶחֱטָא.
As the gemara says, there were only 4 people to have ever lived without sinning: Binyamin, Amram, Yishai, and Kil'av.
5 Comments:
The new Pope's name is Bergoglio.
Ber is Bar ==> son of
Goglio is Gog ==> Gog
son of Gog ==> from Gog
MAGOG
Nice. I think you're onto something.
i agree, i think he is on something.
;)
Jorge Mario Bergogli
Jorge = Goerge = GOG
Bergoglio or Bar-Goglio = Son of Gog = coming from Gog = MAGOG
Mario is male for Maria or Mary. The shoresh is MAR (mem resh) = 240 = Amalek
Good point re: differences bet. Judaism and other religions regarding human fallibility.
Even regarding the "4 people who never sinned", it should be pointed out that the Rambam states in hilkhot Teshuva that everyone has some merits and some sins. Some commentators interpret that Gemara in Bava Batra as saying simply that those 4 people did not die as a result of their sins, but not that they lived a life completely free of sin. (See for ex. Beerot Hamayim Hil. Teshuva 3:1)
