Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Elad: Rishonim, Aharonim, and Even HKB"H Bichvodo Uv'atzmo Came to Me in Dreams

Kikar reports that Rav Mordechai Malka, the chief Sephardic rabbi of Elad, has surprised many in the introduction of volume 4 of his book "Derech Hamelech" by saying that during the course of his learning, he merited to see Rishonim and Aharonim like the Rashb"a and the Gr"a in his dreams.
He adds further that he once had an extra special dream in which HKB"H Bichvodo Uv'atzmo revealed Himself to him as the image of great light - along with His heavenly entourage [of angels] - and told him that He and His entourage are happy with his Psak Halacha (regarding Hadlakat Neirot, which would prevent a Beracha Levatala).
To further strengthen his case, Rav Malka notes that it's known that one of the Ba'alei Hatosefot wrote "Responsa from Heaven" to use dreams to make Halachic decisions. [See Rav Ovadia Yosef's opinion on how much weight the "Responsa from Heaven" has here.]
It should be noted that Rav Malka adds that his Piskei Halacha don't solely rely on his dreams, but rather, his dreams come to assist to clarify the matter.

so, what is the correct way?
The Gemara says that one dreams at night about hat he thinks about by ay.
The gemara says a lot of things about dreams. I recommend the shiur linked to here to help sort out the differences.
