Rav Yitzhak Yosef Plans to Wear His Father's Luhot Chain for Pope Visit

The Rishon Letzion Rav Yitzhak Yosef plans to wear a Luhot chain when he meets the pope later this month.
Kikar explains that the chain was given to Rav Ovadia ZT"L when he was appointed chief rabbi of Israel. Rav Ovadia wore the chain whenever he needed to meet Xtian representatives, including the pope. He would wear it in response to the cross worn by those representatives.
Rav Ovadia gave the chain to his son a few weeks before his passing - when Rav Yitzhak was appointed chief rabbi.
In a later Kikar article, a video can be seen of Rav Yitzhak speaking at Magen David in Flatbush (where he is currently visiting) and talking about the chain and how he received it. He mentioned that he already wore the chain once at an interfaith conference. He added that his father received the golden Luhot from the Jewish community of Turkey.
That article concludes that Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi David Lau also plans on wearing a similar chain when he meets the pope.

Why did hashem create this man where 1 person has had such great powers in black magic and sorcery , where even ovadia yosef stumbles in front of his blood needing a segulah ?! When we dont convert we are killed in his name and when we accept him ie german jews before the shoah we are still destroyed ?~!facinating man with facinating powers ?!
Just say no. Why meet with a man who represents idolatry? especially in Eretz Yisrael, which should be free from idolatry! The poop just wants to take away land that belongs to the Jewish people, the descendants of Avraham, yitzchok, and Yaacov and he wants to try to convince Israel to give away even more land to the Arabs.
maybe its a typo error typing Hashem with a small letter. and not giving HaRav Ovadio Yosef his due respect as one of our greatest gaons. just as even great rabbis cannot understand fully the works of the great Torah scholars, like the vilna gaon, R Meir and such, i am sure the likes of us can definitely not understand HaRav Ovadia's actions. the greater the holiness, the greater the opposite side. if its G-d's Will, the light and darkness should meet, so be it. Who understands Hashem's Ways?
Believe these actions on the part of govenment Rabbis are usually done because 1) they have no choice and ultimately take the position of the ruling authority in gov and 2)they are doing what needs to be done as a protection for the Jews who are still in galut, whether they live outside the Land or inside the Land and are under the rule of the nations, who most of them have no love for the Jewish people.
Unfortunately, the State is not under Jewish leadership at the present time.
