70 Years Since 5705 Corresponding to Avraham Avinu's Age
I have a new theory that seems promising, but I'll admit that it might need to be polished a bit.
Let the end of the Holocaust (5705) represent the year Avraham Avinu was born (1948 AM). It's not hard to imagine why. The Holocaust was a low point in history when humanity was questioned about the enormity of its evil. Similarly, right before Avraham was born, the world was in the abyss of spiritual confusion. Polytheism was the only game in town and no one stemmed the tide against it.
Then, in 5708, Hashem gave us the wonderful gift of sovereignty in our land. People started believing that Hashem has not forsaken us in our many centuries of exile. Similarly, when Avraham turned 3 years old, in 1952 AM (according to one opinion), he recognized his Creator.
Later, 48 years after 5705, in 5753, the Land of Israel was officially divided into areas (A, B, C) and the Palestinian Authority was established during the Oslo Accords. When Avraham Avinu was 48 years old, in 1996 AM, the Pelaga occurred, as it says כִּי בְיָמָיו נִפְלְגָה הָאָרֶץ (in Remez, it could be referring to the Land of Israel). In addition, the city of Sedom was established (see Shabbat 10b with Rashi and Tosefot there).
We are now in the year 5775, 70 years after the end of the Holocaust. When Avraham Avinu was 70 years old, the Berit Bein Habetarim occurred, according to Seder Olam. During the Berit Bein Habetarim, it says the following (Bereishit 15:18-21):
At this point of his life, he is promised the lands of the 7 nations, plus 3 more. As the commentators explain, this promise will not be fulfilled until the End of Days. In that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: 'Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates;the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.'
In conclusion, if this theory is correct, we are now in the 70th year that corresponds to the year of the Berit Bein Habetarim. This means that the promises that we only dreamed of until now will be fulfilled. May all the promises of our Complete Redemption be fulfilled this year.

The ribuah of eretz yisrael = 1948 the year of Avrahams birth it has 8 letters 8 alephs = 8 x 1 =8 7 reishes 7 x 200 = 1400 6 tzadiks 6 x 90 = 540 8 + 1400 + 540 =1948 ! 1948 Avrahams birth ie bhavram for Avrahams sake Hashem created the world a very basic Rashi commentary . 1948 the state of Israel formed by the mixed multitude , very confusing because they were inspired from above the stern gang the irgun the palmach tzaddikim who died kiddush Hashem for the land ! wow ! most werent shomer shabbat. Oslo occured because peres the vulture and his ilk ie the supreme court of israel etc etc couldnt vomit up the words this land was given to Abraham as a britey with Hashem . As the rebbezl quotes the Tanya ishmael is impure chesed and by caving in to there demands the reign of the mixed multitude in the state causes more harm then good by polluting Gods name in Oslo. Repeating the egel they built is oslos gilgul! As the Satmar rav of blessed memory said the secular zionists have more sin on them then the other half of the world combined , and theyll return all the land they won . The third thing ill quote from the Satmar rav of blessed memory anti zionism by the nations is anti semitism . To finish the world is a narrow bridge the most important thing is not to fall off Rabbi Nachman of Breslov of Blessced Mewmoy .
Amen to your blog post Yaak. Ken Yehi Ratzon.
Surprising Seder Olam...If Avraham was 75 when we went to Eretz Yisrael, and the Chumash says that AFTER the war with the kings the Bris occurred? Why does Seder Olam think this Bris occurred BEFORE Avraham entered Eretz Yisrael when he was 70?
Anonymous 7:55,
The commentators discuss this, including Rashi. Not everyone agrees with the Seder Olam, but many do. According to this view, he went to Eretz Yisrael at age 70, at which time the Berit Bein Habetarim occurred. He then went back to be with his father in Haran for 5 years and converted people. At age 75, he returned to Eretz Yisrael, which is when Lech Lecha begins. There is no issue with the Torah discussing the Berit in chapter 15 and Lech Lecha in chapter 12 since אין מוקדם ומאוחר בתורה - the Torah is not in chronological order.
The Anaf Yosef at the Seder Olam link I provided asks why he had to go back and forth. He answered in the name of the Nezer Hakodesh that he first needed to get the spiritual boost of Eretz Yisrael to strengthen himself. He then needed to convert those in Haran to monotheism, which was not possible before he strengthened himself first. Only then, could he move to Eretz Yisrael for good.
Awesome chidush yaak he left to make converts - geriime . reminds me of the rebbe of chbad who never left brooklyn ny after becoming Nassi in 1950 after the Friediker Rebbe of Blessed Memory passed on . The rebbe said make this place eretz yisrael until we lift all of the 288 sparks from the klipot through torah tefillah gemilut chasadime as well its important according to the talmud all the souls in the guf have gone through there proper gilgulime. We are in the parshiot of Abraham tehillim " the great man in the earth " , may jewish tefillot at the cave of the patriachs break through completely B"H !
I understand the discrepancy of the 75 and 70 as two different Abrahams... 75 refering to the Abraham that was and 70 to the Abraham who is/will be.
This returning Abraham is actually the purified soul of Isaac (Shabbos 89b); the commentators explain that the purest form of chesed (Abraham) is created when din judges din (Isaac).
In this way, Isaac will be Abraham who will be Dan (he who will judge his people). Why? Two main reasons:
1) All judgements (Isaac) will be kind (Abraham)
2) Abraham will forever be Avram and not 'earn' the name change "עד דן" (Bereishit 14:14--עד could be understood in time, not just space).
Plus 70 = ע = dat/keter, crown of Moshiach.
