The Zecharia Baumol - King Yehoyachin - Geula Connection

Many of you may have seen R' Dov Bar Leib's Hiddush regarding the 37 years that Zecharia Baumol HY"D was missing and connecting it to the 37 years of King Yehoyachin's incarceration by Nevuchadnetzar and both of their returns from captivity exactly on the 27th of Adar:
This is what the end of Olam HaZeh looks like!

27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison.

28 And he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon.

37 years 27th of Adar

Yehoiyachin, Mashiach's ancestor
Others may have seen Rabbi Yair Hoffman's article about it too.

Similar to what Rabbi Hoffman brought down by quoting the Hakdama to the Otzar HaMidrashim, note that Me'am Lo'ez also says that the whole purpose that these verses at the end of Melachim Bet are here is so that we don't give up hope from the Geula.

When calculating the exact year difference between the 2 occurrences, it seems that the starting point is as follows:

Galut Yehoyachin ---- 3327
Yehoyachin freed ---- 3364 (37 years later)

5779 - 3364 = 2415

2415 years separate the 2 occurrences.  2415 is the gematria of the last verse in Parashat Vayetze:

ג  וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב כַּאֲשֶׁר רָאָם, מַחֲנֵה אֱלֹהִים זֶה; וַיִּקְרָא שֵׁם-הַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא, מַחֲנָיִם. 3 And Jacob said when he saw them: 'This is God's camp.' And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

This verse signifies the end of Yaakov Avinu's exile to Haran with his return from exile and his entering Eretz Yisrael.

In addition, 2415 is:

1290 + 1335 - 210

This is the 1290 and 1335 "days" or years mentioned in the end of Sefer Daniel.  It is perhaps (as many commentators have said in the past) telling us how long the total exile will be.  We can then subtract the 210 years of exile we already endured in Egypt.

But why are we starting the count from when King Yehoyachin is freed?  Shouldn't we start the count of exile when his exile started?

Perhaps that is exactly what the return of Zacharia Baumol on the exact day of King Yehoyachin's freedom is teaching us - that we should start the count 37 years later than we would have thought to.  Perhaps, we do this because the glimmer of hope of King Yehoyachin's freedom really starts the exile.  Prior to that, to those of weaker faith, all seemed hopeless.  Hopelessness is not exile.  Hopelessness is fatalism.  The Malchut Beit David seemed to be coming to extinction.  When the king was freed, however, there was hope.  Now that there's hope, now we can start exile.

And that is exactly what the Me'am Lo'ez is saying - not to ever give up hope as sometimes things take even 37 years.  The Baumols had strong faith and never gave up hope of finding their son after 37 years.  Their prayers seemed to have some effect.

And sometimes things take even longer.  We also must never give up hope from our Redemption.  We must hope, pray, and cry out to Hashem for salvation.

ואף על פי שיתמהמה עם כל זה אחכה לו

May this be the year we've been waiting for.

I got goosebumps over that verse of yaakov and Machanaim... it's a long story so I won't bother explaining, but ultimately this verse has been hidden and revealed in my life for a very long time.
