Tidbits from the Ge'ula Department

(or, as I like to call it, "Not Haveil Havalim")

  • California has been getting lots of earthquakes lately. Are there more coming? Could this be what the Message from Mashiah referred to?
  • End of Days Blog blogger Dov Bar-Leib will be hosting Vendyl Jones this Shabbat in Kochav Yaakov, Israel. However, the search for the lost ark mentioned earlier is not going so well, according to Mystical Paths. Let's hope that he will not be hindered any longer.
  • A commenter on Mystical Paths from Cleveland is starting an organization called "American Friends of the Sanhedrin". Also, see here for a defense of the Sanhedrin.
  • According to Erev Mashiach, the 6-year-old boy Eli says that most Jewish souls were elevated over Shavuot. See here for further discussion on Eli in general.
  • The plans to have 600,000 Jews at the gates of Jerusalem for a unity demonstration are proceeding. The organizers are asking people to sign up here. More discussion about this is here and here.
  • According to Rabban Shimon Ben Gamliel here (near the top of 116a), the Parsha of Vayehi Binso'a, which is surrounded by upside-down Nuns, is currently out of place. It is now in the place that it is in order to separate between two troubles for the Jewish people in this Parsha. In the future, when there will be no more troubles and no Yetzer Hara(-Rashi), it will be placed where it belongs - next to the portion that deals with the flags and the travels in the desert. Let's hope that the time for no more troubles will come speedily in our days! Amen!

Listen, this Eli thing is a hoax, derived from the bigger hoax that the dead Rebbe is Moshiach.

Moshiach ain't coming right now, no matter what gog1 et al say. Ovadia Yosef is not a source for predicting Moshiach.

Chabad and Shas are generating a hype. Stay away from it. The only real thing that is happening is the Sanhedrin.

Moshiach will come after Yerushalayim will be finally rebuilt. And that will be after Gog vMagog. And that will be after the fall of Rome. And that will be after the nine months of great trouble. And that will be after a great financial crisis in the world. And that will be after the establishment of the Sanhedrin.

When are we going to study?

Mashiach's not going to have much to do if he's not coming until after all the problems are resolved. I was under the impression he's supposed to help solve them.

As for studying, I spent a good portion of the day on it. Who says we can't study AND keep up with the latest in Redemption news?

Anonymous - believe what you want. I don't believe everything that I report here either. I report it, and let the reader decide.
However, saying statements like "Mashiach ain't coming right now" is close to Kefirah. We are required to believe that he may come any day and every day. Listen, there are many different Shitot on when he's coming. Unless you're a Navi, you cannot say that one Shitah of the order of events is more correct than another. (If you are a Navi, let's talk :) )

Here's a translation of the purpose of the gathering (original is from the "Halban").

The gathering is still in the planning stages. The organizer is hoping to get enough signitures of the masses to present to the Gedolim, who have so far been reluctant to sign on to this event. His hope is that when they see so many signitures, they will also sign on. (Source) Only Hashem knows if this will happen.
