Beware All Who Disrespect Rav Ovadia Yosef Shlit"a

See here:
The head of the opposition against Maran Shlit”a once took an especially drastic step against Maran. When Maran Shlit”a was once walking through Jerusalem’s Zion Square, this man threw a vegetable at Maran in order to humiliate him. Several years later, in the year 5735 (1975), there was a large-scale terrorist attack in Zion Square and this man’s son was killed in exactly the same spot where his father humiliated Maran Shlit”a. From then on, it seems that this man stopped his evil ways and would then divide up chapters of Tehillim in various synagogues. (This entire incident shall, G-d-willing, be explained fully in the best-selling biography on Maran Shlit”a, Abir Ha’Ro’im, Volume 2).

Great. Another tragedy used as personal boost to a Rabbi. If this story is indeed true, it's much more likely that the man changed his behavior because his son died, and not because he attributes it to retribution for slighting a Rabbi. If nothing else, Hashem supposedly does not punish the son for the sins of his father(s).

And a book that hasn't been published can't be a best-seller.

That's not what it is used for.

The 2 are connected, and he realized that.

If nothing else, Hashem supposedly does not punish the son for the sins of his father(s).

That is only when the sons don't continue the ways of the fathers. Not enough information is given about the son's behavior.

And a book that hasn't been published can't be a best-seller.

Yes, the wording is a bit strange, but I assume what was meant was that volume 1 was a best-seller and volume 2 is going to be released.

Let's support Tzaddikim on their well-known merits and not based on rumors or fiction.

RAM,

I totally agree, but what does that have to do with this post?

I just missed that attack in 1975 by 10 minutes. The Rav in the yeshiva said the safest place to be is in yeshiva, not good to be on Rchov yafo.Lesson learned - stay in shul and Bais Medrash as much as possible.
