No Tahanunim the Whole Nissan - Why?

Halacha Yomit answers that it has to do with the past, present, and future.
Past - the Nesi'im would bring their Korbanot on days 1-12. Day 13 was their Isru Hag.
Present - the 14th is Erev Pesah. Days 15-21 are Pesah. Day 22 is Isru Hag of Pesah.
Future - The third Beit Hamikdash will be built on the first day of Pesah (via Heaven), and the dedication of the third Beit Hamikdash will last 7 days (days 23-29) since one may not hold the dedication of the Beit Hamikdash on Pesah because of the Halachic dictum of "אין מערבין שמחה בשמחה" (we do not combine one joyous occasion with another).

(And, of course, day 30 is Rosh Hodesh.)

So, it comes out that the entire month is dedicated for days of joy for Israel. It is therefore not a month for supplications or fasting.

Wouldn't it be nice if the third Beit Hamikdash were built this Pesah?

The Gemara in Moed Katan 9a seems to say that he started 2 weeks before Sukkot in order not to do so.

Yashar Koach, you caused me to review the gemora and review it. I now understand. I thought that the 14 days listed in the posuk was all celebration for the dedication. But only the first 7 were for the dedication and the other 7 were the regular celebration of sukkos.

so Dov, what is it exactly we should be davening for??? when Ovadia Yosef said that anyone who votes for kadima "will burn in hell", and now his party is recommending olmert for the role of PM.... not that we are all surprised here, but judging by the choices "our G-d fearing leaders" make today, the pieces of the puzzle put together a very ugly picture. even though some of us do not stand by those "leaders" (yet, unfortunately many do), in the end we'll all share in the same fate. Dov, in your opinion, how can we improve the situation???

I saw this comment on R' Dov's blog. If you're asking me for my opinion, I'm not a political strategist, so my opinion would be an uninformed one. There could be a very good reason for Shas to join Kadima at this point before any territory is relinquished.

That said, the tone of this comment is terrible, and I'm considering deleting it. The person who authored it/copied it to my blog should probably read this.
