Tefillah for the Sixth of Nissan
May it be Your will, Hashem, our G-d, and the G-d of our fathers, that our reading in the Torah of the order of the sacrifice of the Prince Elyasaf Ben De'u'el from the tribe of Gad, who is sealed with the attribute of Hod of Malchut, should be considered important and accepted as his sacrifice, which he has brought for the dedication of Your holy altar. And it should be considered upon us as if we understood all the secrets and all the holy names that come out from the beginning of words and ends of words of these holy verses, and our lips should supplement bulls. And upon us and upon the entire house of Israel should shine all the holy sparks and all the holy lights that are included this the holiness of this tribe. And let us be enclothed in the holiness of this tribe in order to understand and be wise in Your Torah and in Your awe - awe of Your loftiness - to do Your will as You will it all the days of our lives - this goes for us, our children, and our children's children.
And just like when the Israelites left Egypt, You brought the manna down for them from Your lofty heavens, and it was like a coriander seed in the merit of Gad, so too, Hashem, our G-d and the G-d of our fathers, oh חסין, oh Holy One, with Your abundant goodness, lead Your congregation in the exile of this host. Open up for us the treasuries of the upper white dew from the 2 constallations - Notzeir and Nakei, by way of tooth and throat to Abba and Ima, and from Abba and Ima to Ze'eir Anpin, and from Ze'eir Anpin to Hakal Tapuhin Kadishin, from where upper food is given from the mill where they grind there manna for the righteous. And satiate the entire world from Your goodness, and give dew and rain for a blessing over the entire face of the earth, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath. And in the merit of Gad, who is sealed with the heel of Hod of Your Malchut, be as the dew unto Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his fragrance as Lebanon. And in Your salvation, lift up our king, and raise up the value of Mashiah ben David, Your servant, And give of Your honor upon him His glory is great through Thy salvation; honour and majesty dost Thou lay upon him. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptible before You, Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I wonder, when did it become a minhag to say this prayer?
This is the Sephardic version of the prayer after reading the Nasi of the day. I believe Chabad has another (shorter) version.
The idea to read the Nasi is mentioned in Kaf Hahayim 429:22 where he quotes the Shela, the Eliya Rabba, Rabbeinu Zalman (i.e., R' Shneur Zalman of Liadi's Shulhan Aruch Harav), and "Aharonim".
I don't know who wrote these Tefillot or when they originated exactly, but they can be found in the back of most Sephardic Siddurim nowadays.
Now that Netanyahu has been sworn in, and mashiach has not arrived today, can we finally say that the claims that Sharon would be the last Israeli Prime Minister, already false because of Olmert as PM, are now most certainly false? Would you agree that Olmert is not Armalta/Almerta, or what have you?
Ooh, the patience of the attack.
Lich'ora, you're right.
But, let's say Mashiah arrives tomorrow.
Would you not agree that the statement could hold some truth?
I believe he could come tomorrow.
"Ooh, the patience of the attack."
:)
I just wanted to make it while I still remembered. My general approach is to note it and its weaknesses when it first comes out, and then when it is finally disproved. Because otherwise the trend is to forget that the false predictions were confidently made, and only focus on the kvetchy partial successes, thus being more and more convinced that these predictions have weight, as the evidence mounts in their favor. I think that it is healthy for the mystical blogger community that I do this.
Similarly, I intend to point out when Sivan of this year passes, if mashiach does not come and people are still making aliyah, and question whether Nava and her husband's faith in the false predictions of the "Tzaddik Nistar" were justified.
Of course mashiach could come tomorrow. But at that point, would Sharon in any way be the last PM? It already was false because of Olmert. (My prediction: The old claim might be maintained by those who want to maintain it, on the basis that Netanyahu was already a PM and therefore does not "count" as the last PM.)

I think that it is healthy for the mystical blogger community that I do this.
Why is it healthy to disprove the words of a Gadol like Rav Kaduri? Will your disproving him help our Emuna in any way? I tend to doubt it. Aderaba.
It's one thing to say, "Alas, it has not come about," which is the tone I've used in the past and it's quite another to show how stupid so-called "mystical" bloggers are for believing everything.
Good point about Rav Kaduri. But on the other hand, it was not, as far as I understand, Rav Kaduri who gave the far-fetched interpretation of his words to be inclusive of Olmert.
I agree the so-called "mystical bloggers" come from a different approach than I do, such that I would not attribute believing Rav Kaduri to stupidity. However, it might be instructive to be historically aware, that there have been many similar predictions before Rav Kaduri, and many after, and that while one can hope, there is a good chance that such a prediction will not come to fruition. And one can trust Rav Kaduri beforehand, but when it fails to come through, one say "alas it has not come about" rather than kvetching and further interpreting texts.
I am against uncritically believing *everything*, and of throwing all one's life after such statements. E.g. moving to Israel because a "tzaddik nistar" *said* that after Sivan it will all be over. And if only it were only Rav Kaduri, rather than the lunatics running the asylum in the general case. E.g. credence granted to people with "proofs" from gematriot; and to people putting words in the mouths of autistics, which are proven over and over again to be false.
btw, I did not intend to insult you personally. i was talking about the general field of such blogs and bloggers.

Josh
Yaak,
One need not doubt Rav Kaduri. One does need however to ask for evidence (audio or video) of him making such claims.
Yes, you're right, Gilui - good point.
