Putin Visited the Kotel to Pray for the Rebuilding of the Beit Hamikdash
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Kotel last night and struck up a conversation with a Haredi Russian-speaking man there.
During the course of his visit, Putin spoke with other visitors at the site, asked many questions, and according to Yedioth Ahronoth, chatted at length with an ultra-Orthodox immigrant from the former Soviet Union.
Kikar has a video of this conversation and accompanying text. It describes the conversation like this:
My translation:
That conversing man who merited to have a few minutes of friendly conversation with President Putin told the President about the importance of the Kotel to the Jewish nation, about the Beit Hamikdash which was destroyed, and about Shelomo Hamelech A"H who built it. President Putin, who intently listened to him, replied, "Exactly for this reason did I come here, to pray that the Beit Hamikdash will be rebuilt. I wish for you that your prayers will be accepted." The President shook the hands of the Jew warmly and parted from him with departing wishes.

it reminds me story with Bilam who wanted curse and instead of it he blessed Am Israel. Let Mashiah come easily and very soon, may be during this parsha, Balak?
OMG, Vlad can't be Gog. So now at least this truth has been cleared up.
I don't think that Vlad came here to curse us and to divide the Holy City...regardless of the authoritarian figure that he is at home.
The only other option is that when the world war begins because of Syria, Vlad will be forced against his will to turn southward against the northern mountains of Israel. kind of like hooks in his jowls. But it is obvious he will not be doing it to divide the Holy City.
Moshe, that was a great observation!
Dov, it's not clear ... what you are getting at. Are you intimating that Putin could be gog? I've read else here that he didn't want to see Jerusalem harmed. I think mainly because of the Russian property here that he wants protected.
This is getting more interesting especially as Europe is financially falling apart. A slow painful agonizing death!
Putin praises Abbas for his 'responsible' position in negotiations with Israel

Let me see
1. Erdogan the pompous jack--- just declared war on Syria even if NATO says they are just sending a letter of contempt to Damascus. temper temper Recep.
2. Persia says they are closing the Strait of Hormuz on June 30th or July 1st if the West stops importing their oil by imposing economic sanctions.
3. Spanish short term bond rates just rose by 150% today as that short term debt sale did not go very well....at all.
4. Merkel publicly announced that she will never consider Eurobonds that might prevent the collapse of the Euro "for as long as I live." She is not reading George Soros's handbook to prevent chaos coming out of this Eurosummit by Thursday. So is that more or less definitive that not releasing Pollard over Biden's dead body?
5. The new French President has made it perfectly clear that unlike Sarkozy who partnered with Merkel for engaging in fiscal sanity in Europe, he is siding with the profligate idiots in Southern Europe. So Merkel is alone and loaded for bear.
6. 15 families moved out of Beit El today, and 15 more families will move out on Thursday making way for whatever G-d has planned for Friday, the 9th of Tamuz. Does anyone remember what the 9th of Tamuz is?? It was the day that Bavel broke through the wall of Yerushalayim. When Zecharia referred to the fast of the 4th month, he was referring to the 9th of Tamuz, not the 17th of Tamuz. The fast of Tamuz was changed to the 17th after the destruction of the 2nd Temple.
Now I am not juggling all these balls. And I am not sure if G-d is laughing yet. What is unclear is when are we supposed to start laughing with Him. G-d willing. We will all be saying Hallel at the apartment complex in Beit El on Friday, the 9th of Tamuz. Or we will see what happens to the world when the bulldozers actually show up. one or the other.
Now if Putin agrees that we can build a 3rd Temple, that is fine with me. I don't know if he is Gog. It can go either way.
Oh I forgot to mention.
7. a Congressional election that I have no idea will turn out in New York's 8th Congressional District representing part of Boro Park, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, and the Upper West Side of Manhattan. nice gerrymandering New York. I guess it goes along with the gay marriage certificates. And one of the candidates is a big league Jew hater. Now how did that happen? Will Yemach Shmo win or lose? Who knows. I am not the one juggling the balls.
8. The Greek representatives to the Euro Summit all, that is all of them turned up sick. from the Prime Minister who just had eye surgery to his Finance Minister to be who just couldn't stop vomiting. He resigned today before even taking the oath of office. They all became so sick that they had no time or wherewithal to right a proposal for breaking the deal that they just made three months ago. to be accepted and of course signed off on by Merkel who already loaded for bear going into the summit.
Now that is 8 balls that G-d is juggling that we know of, and it is only Yom Revi'i. If you know of any more balls that G-d is juggling of international import, please contact me by email. I am losing count. I have never seen a juggler juggle more than five balls at one time, but perhaps I have never been to a really good wedding.
I am sorry. write a proposal not right a proposal. Good night.
Good night
Oh silly me. I just woke up with a jolt. ball number nine
9. Egypt has a new President who happily agreed at a campaign rally that the capital of the New Caliphate that he wants to establish should be in Al Quds. That is Arabspeak for Jerusalem.
Now I can go back to sleep. nothing is really happening. Move on. It is time to plan those bungalow vacations in the Catskills. Good night Moshe.
:o) good night, do not miss Shaharit tomorrow morning
Ooh, just a wee bit going on in the world.....I am glad Hashem is in charge.
I hope this will be good for us.
It sounds good.
I keep in mind Pharoah, who was good at first.
But the old Pharoah died and a new Pharoah hardened his heart to G-D.
Dunno if it counts - but the colorado fire looks pretty serious too
