  • Ladaat reports that Rav David Kaduri, son of Rav Yitzhak Kaduri ZT"L, was at his father's grave, but got into an argument with someone who is fighting over his father's gravesite and his institutions. During the argument, he had a problem with his heart and needed to be rushed to the hospital.  (Unfortunately, I don't know the name.) UPDATE: An anonymous commenter said that the name is Harav David Meir Ben Sarah.
  • Arabs threw stones at the car in which Rav Eliezer Berland Shlit"a was riding.  B"H, no one was injured, but many of the cars with them were damaged.  They said Tikun Kelali until they left the villiage.
  • Arutz Sheva reports about an organization which wants to reestablish Malchut Beit David.
  • According to a new blogger and copied on other blogger sources who say that they heard from Rav Fish, Kabbalist Rav Tidhar Eilon Azulai Shlit"a from Kochav Yaakov told others that after Purim there will no longer be an opportunity to do Tikkunim.  According to a comment he made on Shirat Devorah, R' Dov Bar-Leib plans to find out more information from the Rav personally.  Pictures of the Rav doing a Pidyon Peter Hamor last Iyyar can be seen here.

The Sounds of Gog Umagog

I. Positive Kolot

The word for "sound" in Hebrew is קול - Kol (plural - Kolot). The word קול is very much connected to the coming of Mashiah. To name a few examples:
קוֹל שָׂשׂוֹן וְקוֹל שִׂמְחָה, קוֹל חָתָן וְקוֹל כַּלָּה, קוֹל אֹמְרִים הוֹדוּ אֶת-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת כִּי-טוֹב יְהוָה כִּי-לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ, מְבִאִים תּוֹדָה בֵּית יְהוָה: כִּי-אָשִׁיב אֶת-שְׁבוּת-הָאָרֶץ כְּבָרִאשֹׁנָה, אָמַר יְהוָה.

קוֹל צֹפַיִךְ נָשְׂאוּ קוֹל, יַחְדָּו יְרַנֵּנוּ: כִּי עַיִן בְּעַיִן יִרְאוּ, בְּשׁוּב יְהוָה צִיּוֹן.

In addition, we have the sound of the Shofar. During the giving of the Torah, it says (Shemot 19:19):

וַיְהִי קוֹל הַשֹּׁפָר, הוֹלֵךְ וְחָזֵק מְאֹד; מֹשֶׁה יְדַבֵּר, וְהָאֱלֹהִים יַעֲנֶנּוּ בְקוֹל.

and as Pirkei deRibbi Eliezer explains, this Shofar at the giving of the Torah was used the left horn of the ram used in Akeidat Yitzhak. The right horn will be used for the ingathering of the exiles speedily in our days.

However, the concept of Kolot - sounds - is not merely used in a positive light for the Jewish people - it is also used in a negative sense for the nations, as we will discuss.

II. The Kolot of the Hail

In the Exodus from Egypt, during the seventh plague of hail, there were sounds that accompanied the hail, as is mentioned by the verses themselves:

כג וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת-מַטֵּהוּ, עַל-הַשָּׁמַיִם, וַיהוָה נָתַן קֹלֹת וּבָרָד, וַתִּהֲלַךְ אֵשׁ אָרְצָה; וַיַּמְטֵר יְהוָה בָּרָד, עַל-אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם.
כח הַעְתִּירוּ, אֶל-יְהוָה, וְרַב, מִהְיֹת קֹלֹת אֱלֹהִים וּבָרָד; וַאֲשַׁלְּחָה אֶתְכֶם, וְלֹא תֹסִפוּן לַעֲמֹד.
כט וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו, מֹשֶׁה, כְּצֵאתִי אֶת-הָעִיר, אֶפְרֹשׂ אֶת-כַּפַּי אֶל-יְהוָה; הַקֹּלוֹת יֶחְדָּלוּן, וְהַבָּרָד לֹא יִהְיֶה-עוֹד, לְמַעַן תֵּדַע, כִּי לַיהוָה הָאָרֶץ.
לג וַיֵּצֵא מֹשֶׁה מֵעִם פַּרְעֹה, אֶת-הָעִיר, וַיִּפְרֹשׂ כַּפָּיו, אֶל-יְהוָה; וַיַּחְדְּלוּ הַקֹּלוֹת וְהַבָּרָד, וּמָטָר לֹא-נִתַּךְ אָרְצָה.
לד וַיַּרְא פַּרְעֹה, כִּי-חָדַל הַמָּטָר וְהַבָּרָד וְהַקֹּלֹת--וַיֹּסֶף לַחֲטֹא; וַיַּכְבֵּד לִבּוֹ, הוּא וַעֲבָדָיו.

Verse 28 is notable as the sounds are called קלת אלקים - sounds of G-d. However, Onkelos translates it as קלין דלוט כאלין מן קדם ה' (accursed sounds like these from before Hashem). Targum Yonatan translates it similarly and the Peirush Yonatan there explains why it was translated like this. He says that אלקים denotes Hashem's attribute of unmitigated justice, so it is logical to call them sounds of curses.

Rabbeinu Bahye has a different explanation why G-d's name is used here. He says that as these sounds that accompanied the hail were really thunder, thunder is something that breaks the heart, makes the body tremble, and comes with great power.

III. The Kolot of the Hail will come again

There is a famous Midrash mentioned often (e.g. Shemot Rabba 12:8) that says that the hail stopped in mid-air and resumed during Yehoshua's battle with the Emorites (Yehoshua 10:11) and the rest will be used in the War of Gog Umagog (Yehezkel 38:22). But how about the Kolot?

The Midrash Tanhuma says that the hail will come during Gog Umagog, but the Kolot were suspended until the days of Elisha, where the sounds of horses, chariots, and a great army miraculously scared away the army of Aram (Melachim Bet 7:6).  One might want to infer from this Midrash that the sounds will not reoccur during Gog Umagog since the Midrash differentiates between the hail and the sounds.  However, it is not so clear.

In contrast to the Midrash Tanhuma, the Ba'al Haturim comes up with a different answer. He is apparently bothered by verse 29, where Moshe Rabbeinu tells Par'o: הַקֹּלוֹת יֶחְדָּלוּן, וְהַבָּרָד לֹא יִהְיֶה-עוֹד [the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail], which implies that only the hail shall be no more, but the Kolot will only cease, but will resume at a later date. He explains that indeed the sounds of thunder will resume during the giving of the Torah.  We can use the gemara in Zevahim 116a near the bottom as a support to the Ba'al Haturim.  That gemara has an aggadic beraita whereby the nations of the world complained to Bil'am about the terriying sounds that they were hearing from one end of the earth to the other.

I'd like to say, perhaps, that the Ba'al Haturim would also say that the Kolot will resume in Gog Umagog as well. The Or HaHayim is apparently bothered with how the hail will not fall any more if it is destined to fall during Gog Umagog, as per the Midrash. He therefore says that new hail will not fall again, but the old hail - the hail that was in the process of falling during the plague of hail - will fall during Gog Umagog. If we use the Or HaHayim, it seems that the Kolot as well will resume during Gog Umagog. When it resumed at the giving of the Torah, those were brand new sounds, whereas the sounds during Gog Umagog will be the same sounds as were there during the plague of hail.

IV. The Sources for Kolot During Gog Umagog

Are there actual sources that say that there will be Kolot during Gog Umagog?  Yes - and plenty.
  • Yehezkel 38:19:
    וּבְקִנְאָתִי בְאֵשׁ-עֶבְרָתִי, דִּבַּרְתִּי: אִם-לֹא בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא, יִהְיֶה רַעַשׁ גָּדוֹל, עַל, אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל.
    For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath have I spoken: Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

    However, Rashi explains רעש גדול as Kolot and thunder.

  • Yeshaya 66:6:
    קוֹל שָׁאוֹן מֵעִיר, קוֹל מֵהֵיכָל; קוֹל יְהוָה, מְשַׁלֵּם גְּמוּל לְאֹיְבָיו
    Hark! an uproar from the city, Hark! it cometh from the temple, Hark! the LORD rendereth recompense to His enemies.

  • Some or all of Psalm 29 is said to be referring to Gog Umagog.
    א מִזְמוֹר, לְדָוִד: הָבוּ לַיהוָה, בְּנֵי אֵלִים; הָבוּ לַיהוָה, כָּבוֹד וָעֹז.
    ב הָבוּ לַיהוָה, כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ; הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַיהוָה, בְּהַדְרַת-קֹדֶשׁ.
    ג קוֹל יְהוָה, עַל-הַמָּיִם:
    אֵל-הַכָּבוֹד הִרְעִים; יְהוָה, עַל-מַיִם רַבִּים.
    ד קוֹל-יְהוָה בַּכֹּחַ; קוֹל יְהוָה, בֶּהָדָר.
    ה קוֹל יְהוָה, שֹׁבֵר אֲרָזִים; וַיְשַׁבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶת-אַרְזֵי הַלְּבָנוֹן.
    ו וַיַּרְקִידֵם כְּמוֹ-עֵגֶל; לְבָנוֹן וְשִׂרְיֹן, כְּמוֹ בֶן-רְאֵמִים.

    יא יְהוָה--עֹז, לְעַמּוֹ יִתֵּן; יְהוָה, יְבָרֵךְ אֶת-עַמּוֹ בַשָּׁלוֹם.

V. Why Kolot?

Why would Hashem use Kolot as a punishment toward the other nations?  What do Kolot signify?

The Keli Yakar on Shemot 7:17 and repeated in 9:14 explains that the Kolot were Mida Keneged Mida for Par'o not listening to Hashem's voice, and arrogantly saying, "Who is Hashem that I will listen to His voice?"  He therefore is punished with the terrible sounds.  (He even uses Psalm 29's קול ה' על המים and קול ה' חצב להבות אש to show how Hashem's sound accompanied the hail.)

The aformentioned Rabbeinu Bahye says that it was the sounds - not the hail - that really got to Par'o and got him to cave temporarily.  And it is only when the sounds ceased that he retracted his permission to the Israelites to leave.

VI. Today's Kolot

It says in Micha 7:15: 'As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt will I show unto him marvellous things.' However, the mirror image of that verse speaks of the punishment to the nations in Yeshaya 23:5: כַּאֲשֶׁר-שֵׁמַע, לְמִצְרָיִם, יָחִילוּ, כְּשֵׁמַע צֹר and Shemot Rabba 9:13 tells us that all that was done to Egypt will be done to Edom in the End of Days. When we have nations not treating Israel and Jews properly, blaspheming to say, "Who is Hashem that we should listen to His voice?" they are thereby not heeding the word of Hashem, and will likely also get the punishment of the Kolot sooner or later.

Shirat Devorah has been bringing us periodic updates of unexplained sounds that have been occurring in the past year or so. Whether there is a perfectly reasonable and scientific explanation for these sounds or not, the publicization of these sounds right now is remarkable. They are not everywhere at the same time and place, as with Par'o. However, one can think of them as warnings of things to come.

The gemara (Megilla 17b) says בששית קולות - on the sixth year, sounds. This is generally explained as rumors of Mashiah's arrival. Perhaps, we can alternatively explain this as Gog Umagog sounds, which will frighten millions of people. This precedes the seventh year of wars, followed by Mashiah's arrival.

May Hashem save us from being frightened by the Kolot of Gog Umagog and allow us to only hear the Kol Sasson VeKol Simha, Kol Hatan VeKol Kallah. Amen.

Rav Ovadia Shlit"a: Hashem Will Fight for Us

“Don’t Attack Iran,” former Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef said in his weekly Torah lecture broadcast on Israel radio every Saturday night. “Learn Torah, and G-d will save the People of Israel” and send Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to hell, he declared.

Rabbi Yosef, who also is the spiritual force behind the Shas religious party, tied the Iranian regime and its threat to destroy Israel with the wicked Haman in the Persian Empire 2,000 years ago. He was destroyed by his own manipulations, as recalled on the holiday of Purim that will be celebrated next week beginning with the recital of the Book of Esther.

“In every generation, there are those who try to destroy us, and HaShem (G-d) saves us” Rabbi Yosef said. “Now there is a tyrant in Iran, perhaps a reincarnation of Haman,” he continued. “We have no one to rely on except our G-d in Heaven.”

He called on Jews to pray to HaShem, "and He will see the people are learning Torah… I saw a tyrant and he passed and no longer exists, Just like Haman, HaShem will deal with him and he will go to hell.”

The rabbi clearly is not depending on President Barack Obama, whose name he did not even mention. Rabbi Yosef pointed out that there never before have been so many Jews studying Torah and reiterated that HaShem will fight for Israel.

7-Year Blogiversary

I cannot believe that I wasted spent 7 years of my life on this blog!  I enter my own personal Motza'ei Shevi'it year on Yeranen Yaakov, and hope to continue עד ביאת גואל צדק and beyond.

This is a call for anyone who wants to make a comment, suggestion, complaint, rant, compliment, etc. in the comments about the blog in general.  Whether you like it or hate it or just want to say hello, I'd love to hear from you.

At that time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people." And this is exactly the time that is the time referred to in Yirmiyahu Hanavi.

  • Rav Yosef Sofer Shlit"a adds that the verse that the Gr"a uses to expound about the Torah of Remez is "כל גיא".  The letters that come afterwards are למד כ"ב, telling us that we should merit to learn (למד) the hints that come out of the 22 (כ"ב) letters.
  • The letters רז that are hinted to [via first and last letters] in the word רמז hints to the fact that via רמז, you get to רז [which is Sod].
  • The pathway between exile and Redemption starts with the Strait of Hormuz, which symbolizes the strait and pathway of the Torah of Remez, which is the pathway between Peshat and Sod, between exile and Redemption.
  • Rav Avigdor Aharonson Shlit"a said that רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר אֲבִיחֲצִירָא is the gematria of נִצוֹץ מִמָּשִׁיחַ בֶּן יוֹסֵף [a spark of Mashiah ben Yosef].
  • Regarding the number 9 (and particularly the letter צ) and Geula, he quotes the Yalkut, which comes from Pirkei DeRibbi Eliezer that I quoted here.
  • The RM"Z Shlit"a adds that יוסף דויד is the gematria of 180, which is 18x10, which is the years of Yitzhak, whose letters are קץ חי, because he lived 180 years.  This is because חי is the Sod of Ateret Hayesod, which connects Yosef to David.  Also, a star of David has 18 lines.  The book "Mat'amim" quoting "Eretz HaHayim" says, "Anything holy, like the Parochet, cloths on the Sefer Torah and on the Heichal, we make a sign with 6 sides and call it "Magen David", which is 2 triangles intertwined one in another, because this picture depicts Hashem's unity and His rule over 6 directions." Also, the "Sefer Halikutim" of Rav Moshe David Vali says, "When Malchut faces inward, then it has the image of a Magen David."  The Ariza"l's Sha'ar Hayihudim (chapter 12) says to write on an amulet the shape of a Magen David and it helps for any sickness.  Also, the RM"Z Shlit"a adds that every word from דוד מלך ישראל חי וקים has a hint from the letters שבעת, which are the letters of תשע"ב.  Firstly, דוד is the gematria of 2x7.  מלך hints to the Sefira of Malchut, which is the 7th.  The letters of the word ישראל are the letters that start the 3 forefathers and 4 mothers - altogether 7.  Also, the 7 shepherds.  חי is 2x9, which in Hebrew is ב x תשע, which is the letters of שבעת.  The word וקים hints to the oath of Hashem (שבועת ה) as was mentioned.  Rav R.D. Tzur Shlit"a adds that David lived 70 - שבעים - years, and again, we see the number שבע.
  • The RM"Z adds that the 9 תשע months of pregnancy are hinted to in the years תשע"א and תשע"ב.

  • It's brought down in the commentary of the Rashba"tz to the Piyut of the Ri"tz Gei'ut in the name of the Midrash, "When the Creator commanded 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed', 1290 types of grass and herbs grew."  It appears that there is a hint here to the types of grass of the exile, as Daniel prophesied that the final exile will last 1290 years, which corresponds to the 1290 types of grass which are connected to the period of exile.
  • The Rama"k's Tomer Devorah says on the verse וַיִּקְבֹּר אֹתוֹ בַגַּי that Hashem buried Moshe in the 13 attributes of mercy, whose merit will protect Israel in their exile in the merit of Moshe.  The "Miperi Ephraim" says that Moshe died in the year 2489, and if you add to this number the gematria of the 13 attributes of mercy "אל רחום וחנון ארך אפים ורב חסד ואמת נצר חסד לאלפים נשא עון ופשע וחטאה ונקה", you get 5699.  That is when the merit of Moshe with the 13 attributes of mercy ended, as Hashem was slow to anger and waited for us to do Teshuva.  And in this year, Am Yisrael started to be punished for the sins of all the generations.  Rav Yosef Sofer Shlit"a adds that the letters that come after תרצ"ט is קשיא. and not only that, but it is also the א"ט ב"ח of it.  This hints to the fact that from this year on, the judgement started to be harsh (קשיא).
  • It's brought down in the Shelah (Shemot Torah Or) that the letters that succeed "פקד" are "צרה", meaning that the order of Pekida begins with trouble.  Also, the year תשע"ב is hinted to in the text of prayer, when we say, "ועונה לעמו בעת שועם אליו".  Also, the word בעת hints to a Be'itah Redemption.
  • Rav D.L. Leiv Shlit"a adds that ה'תשע"ג is the gematria of ברכת יוסף and עושר רב.
  • אור חדש על ציון is the gematria of תשע"ה.
  • Rav Y.S. Tzur Shlit"a adds that שומע תפלה is the gematria of אני ה' בעתה אחישנה with the words.
  • שבע is the gematria of בן ישי.
  • Rav Avigdor Aharonson Shlit"a writes to us more hints: 
    • אליהו התשבי בא is the gematria of תשע"ב.
    • אליהו הנביא אליהו התשבי אליהו הגלעדי במהרה יבא אלינו עם משיח בן דוד is the gematria of בזמן האלף הששי בשנה תשע"ב.
    • The text of the blessing [recited on Tish'a Be'av] מנחם ציון ובונה ירושלים is the gematria of זהו בה' אלפים תשע"ב [with the Kollel].
  • [On the verse that discusses the punishment of those who fight against Yerushalayim,] Rav D. Tzur Shlit"a adds that המק is the gematria of כימי ביאולגי [chemical biological] with the words and the Kollel.  Rav Z.R. Shlit"a adds that we find in Midrash a hint to what we saw in our days that countries will produce for themselves the weaponry that will destroy them, like when there are leaks from nuclear reactors and the like, or when they produce weapons for their enemies. (Yalkut Yeshaya 439) "Upon the 4th kingdom, He decreed that it will bring its own wood and it will be burnt in them forever, as it says, 'And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.   It shall not be quenched night nor day, the smoke thereof shall go up for ever...'."  And I heard from the Primishlaner Rebbe Shlit"a (things that were said Motza'ei Shabbat Parshat Va'eira, 5772) that soon, Hashem will take revenge against the nations over the troubles that they did to Israel at all time periods, and we are standing really close to the coming of Mashiah.  And I also heard from Rav Tidhar Eilon Azulai Shlit"a that already in the upcoming month of Nissan, the great revolutions of the Redemption will commence.
  • We find in the Zohar (Vayeira 116b) that "in the year 5600, the gates of wisdom above and below will open and the world will be prepared to enter the 7th millennium, just like a person who prepares on Friday when the sun is setting to enter into Shabbat."  We see that from the year 5600, the period of preparation for Redemption with the Sod of Ikveta Dimshiha has begun.  From 5600 until the end of the year 5772 will complete 172 (עקב) years, which will hint to the completion of the period of Ikveta (עקבתא) Dimshiha.  It's also brought down in Targum Yerushalmi (Bereishit 3:15) that Mashiah will come at the end of 172 "days".  Here is the text: "עתידין הינון אלין לאלין למעבד שפוייתא בעקבא בסוף עקב יומיא ביומוי דמלכא משיחא".
  • People wrote me that before the Six Day War, for the first time in Eretz Yisrael, there were 600,000 men over the age of 20.  Now, they say that there are this number who keep Torah and Mitzvot.  And we find in the Midrash (Yalkut Hoshe'a 518): "Just as their leaving Egypt was with 600,000 and their entering the Land was with 600,000, similarly, for the Days of Mashiah, it will be with 600,000."
  • The letters יד of צדיק symbolizes Yesod.  The remaining letters are קץ.
  • Rav R.A. Davidovitz Shlit"a adds that it's written about Mashiah, "שלח נא ביד תשלח".  The book Shevilei Emuna (Netiv 10) writes, "נא ביד תשלח" is the gematria of "זה מנחם בן עמיאל מלך המשיח".
  • Rav R.A. Davidovitz Shlit"a adds that there is an oath to Hashem regarding the war with Amalek too. "כי יד על כס י-ה מלחמה לה' בעמלק".  We mentioned earlier that  מלחמה לה' בעמלק is Rashei Teivot of 72.
  • The Zohar (Pekudei 241b) says that the connection of the boards of the Mishkan (Kerashim) to the sockets had the aspect of connecting Yesod and Malchut.  Also, Likutei Torah of the Ariza"l says that the sockets (אדנים) in the Mishkan corresponded to Hashem's name א-דני, which symbolizes Malchut.  Also, the Degel Mahane Ephraim (Terumah s.v. שני) says "'2 sockets' - meaning 2 aspects of א-דני, which is Kevayachol, קוב"ה ושכינתיה, 'for one board' - meaning for one connection."  And also here, we see that the connection between the boards and the sockets, which symbolizes the unification of the Mishkan with the aspect of the connection of the 2 Meshihin, is done via the aspect of שתי ידים, as it says, "שְׁתֵּי יָדֹת, לַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד, מְשֻׁלָּבֹת, אַחַת אֶל-אֶחָת [Each board had two tenons, joined one to another.]"  Also,  שְׁתֵּי יָדֹת, לַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד is the Rashei Teivot of שילה - Shiloh, one of the names of Mashiah.  Also, מְשֻׁלָּבֹת has the gematria of 772.  The joining (שילוב) hints to unification, as Rashi (Shemot 26:25) brings down, "Like the rung that enters the hole of the poles of the ladder, and that is the expression of משלבת - made like a rung."  And we already explained earlier that the Sod of the 100-year process is the Sod of the 100 sockets, and it comes out that the connection of the sockets, which is hinted to in the word "משלבת" has the gematria of 772.  That is the point of the unification of the Meshihin among the 100 sockets/years.
  • I heard in the name of the Kabbalist Rav Hayim Cohen (the Milkman), who spoke on Friday, 24 Shevat, 5772, and said that it was clear to him that Ahmadinejad is a Gilgul of Haman Harasha, and he called to give the Mahatzit Hashekel early in order for us to have our Shekalim precede his Shekalim.

Geula Update from Rav Fish - Mishpatim 5772

I'm only going to translate most of the first page (i.e. p. 3 of the pdf) and the last page of this one as the rest of it is very technical and Kabbalistic.

From Rav Fish's latest:

  • [After lauding the power of Remez,] the letters רמז are the letters that come right before נחש, whose gematria is משיח.  Also, רמז has the letters of זמר, which symbolizes the Redemption, where they will cut off (שיזמרו) the foreskin and sing (ויזמרו) to Hashem, as is brought down in Midrash (Shir Hashirim Rabba 2:33) "עת הזמיר הגיע - the time for Israel to be redeemed has arrived, the time for the foreskin to be cut off has arrived, the time for the kingdom of the Kutim to end has arrived, the time for the Kingdom of Heaven  to be revealed has arrived.  וקול התור נשמע בארצנו - this is the sound of Melech Hamashiah."  We also see in the Yerushalmi that uses a gematria regarding the names of Mashiah (Berachot 17a) "Ribbi Yehoshua Ben Levi said his name is 'Tzemah'.  Ribbi Yudan the son of Ribbi Ayvu said his name is 'Menahem'.  Hanina the son of Ribbi Avahu said that they are not arguing with each other - the gematria of one is exactly the gematria of the other - צמח = מנחם."
  • And it's possible that this has come down into physicality since the winds of war between Edom and Paras surround the place that's called "The Straits of Hormuz (הורמוז)", which hints to the matter of the Remez (הרמז) upon which the Redemption is dependant.  Also, there are threats of war during the month of Tamuz (תמוז), which is similar to הורמוז.  And the "Straits" (מיצרי) of Hormuz hint to the period called "Between the straits (בין המצרים)".
  • [At this point, he goes into the Keli Paz, to which I already noted my objections to using this as a proof to Hormuz nowadays.]
  • Rav Yaakov Gefner Shlit"a adds that the continuation of the verse implies that the entire region will turn into burning tar, and it fits very well for this region which is full of oil, which is like tar.  See the verses in Yeshaya chapter 34.  
  • Rav Yitzhak Brandeis Shlit"a adds that we find in Pirket DeRibbi Eliezer (chapter 29) that part of the Gog Umagog War will take place on the sea, and this fits in very well to the Straits of Hormuz.  And it's brought there that afterwards, these wars will go up to Eretz Yisrael.  We will bring down a portion of the Midrash: "Ribbi Yishmael said that 3 wars of confusion the children of Yishmael will wage in the land in the End of Days - one in the sea ... And from there, Ben David will sprout and will see the destruction of these and these, and from there, he will come to Eretz Yisrael, as is says, 'Who is this who comes from Edom?'"
  • Rav Y. S. Tzur Shlit"a adds that הורמוז (Hormuz) is the gematria of טהרן (Teheran), the Iranian capital, and אפגניסטאן (Afghanistan), a friendly country to Iran, where some say the 10 tribes are.  Also, the word טהרן hints to the purity (טהרת) of the world and its Redemption, which will start from this place when the evildoers will be destroyed there.  Rav D. Lev Shlit"a adds that the Milui of הורמוז of ה"א ו"ו   רי"ש מ"ם ו"ו זי"ן has the gematria of יהא שמו הגדול מבורך.
The last page has a Torah Codes table about Rav Elyashiv from Rav Glazerson.

  • Rav Glazerson: The words הרב אלישיב appear in only one skip in the Torah in the portion dealing with the boards of the Mishkan and the Aron.  The skip is 48 letters corresponding to the 48 ways the Torah is acquired and the 48 boards of the Mishkan.  The verses are exactly from where Haza"l learn that a Torah scholar's inside must be like his outside just like the Aron was pure gold inside and out.  Similarly, the Aron's dimensions were broken Amot to signify that the Torah scholars should be satisfied with the minimum.
  • Kabbalists say that all the leaders of the final generation are from the root of Mashiah Ben Yosef, and definitely Rav Elyashiv Shlit"a whose name is Yosef, and also Shalom is Yesod, which is the aspect of Yosef, as is known. 
  • In addition, we see in the table the words "משיח" and "הצדיק" and "שלום" and "אמת".  The skip for משיח is with 6 letters which hints to Mashiah Ben Yosef which is connected to the number 6.  The skip for הרב אלישיב is 48 letters, which is the gematria of the first and last letters of משיח. 
  • Also, יוסף שלום בן חיה מושה is the Rashei Teivot of משיח. 
  • And אלישיב with the letters is the gematria of משיח. 
  • Also, אלישיב hints to the Redemption as the name of Hashem א-ל signifies Hashem's Hesed that He is redeeming, and He will ישיב - cause the return and redeem Israel, speedily in our days, Amen. 
  • Also, אלישב is the Rashei Teivot for אחכה לו בכל יום שיבא.  It is also Rashei Teivot for the verse (Bereishit 45:9) כֹּה אָמַר בִּנְךָ יוֹסֵף, שָׂמַנִי אֱלֹהִים לְאָדוֹן.
  • Also, he lives on חנן Street, which reminds us of the verse כי עת לחננה כי בא מועד. 
  • Also, his birthday is Rosh Hodesh Nissan, which is a time for Redemption. 
  • And it is also known that there is a letter from his grandfather the author of the "Leshem" about Rav Elyashiv that he will lead Israel until the coming of Mashiah.
  • Rav David Katz Shlit"a adds that the Rashei Teivot of יוסף שלום בן אברהם חיה מושה is משיח בא [Mashiah is coming]. 
  • Rav M. H. S. Shlit"a adds that יוסף שלום is the gematria of the name of MBY that is mentioned in many Midrashim - נחמיה בן חושיאל with the letters. 
  • Rav Y. S. Tzur Shlit"a adds that יוסף שלום בן חיה מושה is the gematria of the verse that hints to the Keitz: וַיְכֻלּוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ, וְכָל-צְבָאָם.  This is also the same number as ממקומך מלכנו תופיע (heard from Rav D. Lev Shlit"a).
  • Rav Glazerson adds that יוסף שלום אלישיב with the letters is the gematria of the verse (Iyov 28:3) קֵץ, שָׂם לַחֹשֶׁךְ [YY - see the first Midrash Rabba on Parshat Miketz.] 
  • Also, the Rashei Teivot of יוסף שלום אלישיב spells איש, which symbolizes Yosef, as is brought in the Likutei Torah of the Ariza"l (Balak p. 228) that the Yesod is called "Ish".  Also, איש is Rashei Teivot for אמצע ימין שמאל which are included in Yesod.  Also, it is written איש צדיק. 
  • We will bring down the words of the Ariza"l to show more hints:
    וקם שבט בישראל - that is the Yesod, and שבט is the gematria of איש because the Yesod of Ze'eir Anpin is called "Ish".
    We see that the Ariza"l explains this verse from the prophecy of Bil'am which speaks about the Redemption "וקם שבט בישראל".  The rising up will be by way of the aspect of שבט, which has the same gematria as איש, which symbolizes Yesod.  And we will bring from the Or HaHayim on this verse that וקם שבט refers to MBY.  And we already explained that אי"ש is the Rashei Teivot of יוסף שלום אלישיב.  And also, שבט hints to the current month that the Rav became ill - the month of Shevat, which is called Shevat from the word Sheivet, which is Yesod.  As is brought down in Sefer Yetzira that the month of Shevat was created with the letter צ which symbolizes Yesod, as the Peri Tzaddik writes at length why the Shovevim weeks are in the month of Shevat.  And we will bring down a portion of the Or HaHayim:
    Corresponding to an Ahishena Redemption which comes about via the merit of Israel, it says "דרך כוכב" and corresponding a Be'itah Redemption, it says "וקם שבט בישראל" - meaning that one tribe in Israel will rise up just like they rise up in the world naturally [YY - which is how MBY rises]. Another hint: In the phrase "דרך כוכב מיעקב", it is about MBD, who is hinted to in the mentioned star, and when it says "וקם שבט בישראל", it hints to Mashiah Ben Ephraim.
  • All this is written for the purpose of strengthening prayers for the recovery of Rabbeinu Yosef Shalom ben Chaya Musha because we are commanded to increase our prayers for MBY, and we have him in mind in every prayer in the blessing of Bonei Yerushalayim.

Rav Wolfson Shlit"a on the Iranian Threat (Updated)

Another Geula Prediction for 5772

Three years ago, the Kol HaRa'am newsletter by Uzi Mizrahi predicted a war to start during the last days of Hannuka, 5769, based on a Zohar and the date of the Mumbai Massacre. Operation Cast Lead started just then.

The Kol HaRa'am newsletter is now predicting that since Cast Lead was connected to the Mumbai attacks, and Mumbai is part of the world where Avoda Zara is still prevalent, we can therefore, count 1290 days from the start of Operation Cast Lead, which is connected to Mumbai, which has a connection to the שקוץ שומם, and get to 24 Tammuz, 5772. 45 days later would be 10 Elul, 5772.

I have a couple of questions on this:

1) Why can't we count from the Mumbai attacks themselves, which would make more sense?
2) If Cast Lead started on Dec. 27th, as Wikipedia says, then 1290 days later is July 9, 2012, which is the 19th of Tamuz - not the 24th. This would make 45 days later the fifth of Elul - not the tenth.

Regardless, the prediction is an interesting one.  Whether it is true or not remains to be seen.  May we merit the Geula speedily in our days.

Please Pray for Rav Elyashiv Shlit"a

Rav Elyashiv is in critical condition at Sha'arei Tzedek Hospital, and needs Hashem's mercy.

Rav Amar said, "Kelal Yisrael needs him, and he protects the entire generation.  I call on all those praying to accept upon themselves to say Chapter 102 of Tehilim for his complete recovery."

With the news arriving from Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center that the condition of Maran Hagon Rav Elyashiv has deteriorated, and is R”L in critical condition, Hagon Rav Aron Leib Shteinman has sent out the following urgent message to the heads of Yeshivos:

“Stop the Seder Halimud, and be Mispallel for the Posek HaDor”.

As of this posting (2:30PM EST), the blood pressure of Rav Elyashiv has been dropping, and he is having severe difficulty breathing, due to the fluid in his lungs.

Please be Mispallel for Yosef Sholom ben Chaya Musha.
If we should stop even Torah learning, how much more so should we stop all the other Shtuyot we might be doing.  Let's storm the heavens.

Geula Update from Rav Fish - Beshalah 5772

This one is a little more advanced than usual and I apologize for the repetition in it. When Rav Fish found a nice source, he wanted to add it to a lot of other things that were previously mentioned.

From Rav Fish's latest:

First, having to do with the holy name שפ"ו:
  • The Baal Shem Tov's acronym is הבעש"ט, whose gematria is 386, is 2x תשבע or תשע"ב.
  • Also, the words לשון and שפה (with the Kollel) and טרף בפיה and הבעש"ט all have the gematria of דוד בן ישי (equaling 386).  This is because Malchut has the Sod of the mouth.  And 2x any of these equals 772.  The Baal Shem Tov died on Shavuot just like King David.
  • It's brought down in the prayer of Rav Shimshon of Ostrepoli that is said on Erev Pesah
    And that which the Ariza"l writes, "The name שפ"ו which David Ben Yishai grabbed hold of ..." דוד בן ישי is the gematria of the name שפ"ו because only through that name does David Ben Yishai [i.e. Mashiah] come.
    We see that the gematria of דוד בן ישי is the Sod of Mashiah's coming.  And therefore, this is the number of לשון or שפה or טרף בפיה or הבעש"ט, where 2x any of these is 772.  Also, the name שפ"ו with the letters is the gematria of השבועה and 2x the name שפ"ו is תשבע because the Sod of this name is the Sod of the promise of the Be'itah Redemption.  Also, the name שפ"ו is the first 3 letters of the שופר of Mashiah.  Also, the name שפ"ו is the Rashei Teivot of the verses (Bereishit 38:29) ויקרא שמו פרץ and (Tehilim 126:2) אז ימלא שחוק פינו ולשוננו רנה.  Also, it is hinted to twice in the verse (Bereishit 3:15) הוא ישופך ראש ואתה תשופנו עקב since by way of this name will the great war between the Mashiah and the Nahash (snake) - which have the same gematria - take place.
  • 2x דוד בן ישי, which equals 772, hints to the second time David Ben Yishai will rule, and the gematria of דוד בן ישי is the Sod of the coming of Mashiah.
  • [When Psalm 72 concludes with כָּלּוּ תְפִלּוֹת דָּוִד, בֶּן-יִשָׁי which was discussed last week and 2 weeks ago,] we have another understanding of this now that we know that דוד בן ישי's gematria is connected to the coming of Mashiah.
  • After we explained that דוד has the Sod of יד [hand], it appears that the therefore, 2x דוד בן ישי, which has the gematria of 772, hints to the 2 hands, which is the Sod of the year 5772.
  • [It was mentioned that Timna was on the slope of a mountain, as Rashi on Bereishit 38:13 says and this was proven from both the stories of Yehuda and Tamar and that of Shimshon, who were setting up kingdoms] - the word for slope is שפוע - which hints to the name שפ"ו.
  • [The Leshem says that MBD comes when the shade starts to come down - שיפול - at Minha Gedola] the word שיפול hints to the name שפ"ו.
Other ideas mentioned:
  • Sefer HaLikutim of the Ariza"l (Vayera p. 58) says:
    Just like from Avraham came out Yitzhak, so too "Yitzhak" came from Lot.  יצחק = קץ חי, which is the Mashiah in the Sod of דוד מלך ישראל חי וקים.
    We see that דוד מלך ישראל חי וקים hints to the Sod of the Keitz.  And it's explained according to what we said that the Keitz is in the Sod of שבועה which is hinted to by the word קים and that is said with the language of חי.  According to this, it can be understood further why the promise of the Keitz of Be'itah in Ha'azinu and Daniel, and in Rut are said with the word "חי" - since the Sod of the Keitz is the Sod of קץ חי.  And the deep explanation is that just as the Ateret HaYesod is the end of the body, and is called the end of the 18 Huliot of the spine, as is known, so too the Final Keitz has the Sod of the Ateret HaYesod, which is the Sod of the renewal of the kingdom of the House of David, who is חי וקים.  Also, שבועה is from the expression of שבע [or 7], which is the number of Ateret HaYesod.  As this is brought down in the essay "Hashmal Dam" from the Zohar (Mishpatim 116a) that an oath works via the Ateret HaYesod with the Sod of ברית שבועה.  And we explained there that this is why the Avot promised by holding onto this area.  Also חי קיים is the Sofei Teivot of the verse (Tehilim 137:5-6) אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני תדבק לשוני לחכי אם לא אזכרכי and this verse also has the aspect of an oath and promise about the Geula.  Also, Psalm 18 (ח"י) in Tehillim ends with the verse: מַגְדִּל, יְשׁוּעוֹת מַלְכּוֹ: וְעֹשֶׂה חֶסֶד, לִמְשִׁיחוֹ--לְדָוִד וּלְזַרְעוֹ; עַד-עוֹלָם and the year תשע"ג is hinted to twice in this psalm: וַתִּגְעַשׁ וַתִּרְעַשׁ, הָאָרֶץ-- וּמוֹסְדֵי הָרִים יִרְגָּזוּ; וַיִּתְגָּעֲשׁוּ, כִּי-חָרָה לוֹ.  Also, the current century is the 18th century from the 5th millennium.  And it's also brought down in the Sefer HaLikutim of the Ariza"l (Vayera p. 60) that קץ חי hints to the sweetening of Gevurot, which is done with the Atara that's in the Yesod via the Hasadim that are revealed there.  (Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a helped him with this explanation.) And it is also brought down in name of Rav Yitzchak Ginsburg Shlit"a that דוד מלך ישראל חי וקים is the gematria of ימות המשיח.
  • It's also brought down in the Baal Haturim that the end of Hayei Sarah says על פני כל אחיו נפל and right afterwards, it says ואלה תולדת יצחק to tell you that when Yishmael falls at the End of Days, then Ben David - who is the descendant of Yitzhak - will sprout.
  • It's brought in the book "Emunat Itecha" (5757 p. 49) that Mashiah is hinted to by the birth of Yitzhak because אשוב אליך כעת חיה is the gematria of שם אצמיח קרן לדוד.  Also, משיח is hinted to in that verse by skipping 5 letters:  למועד אשוב אליך כעת חיה.
  • The gematria of יצחק is the Sod of the eve of Redemption, and Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that כארז [which we mentioned earlier is related to 5772] is the same letters as אזכר which is the wording used in the Torah about Redemption, like (Vayikra 26:42) וְאַף אֶת-בְּרִיתִי אַבְרָהָם, אֶזְכֹּר--וְהָאָרֶץ אֶזְכֹּר and (Shemot 6:5) וָאֶזְכֹּר, אֶת-בְּרִיתִי.
  • [We mentioned earlier that Uva Letzion Go'el are the 71st, 72nd and 73rd words after the 70 words of Psalm 20.] Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that 71 + 72 + 73 has the gematria of 3x72=216, which is the completeness of the שם ע"ב, as is known.
  • Rav Menachem Zisman adds that על פני כל אחיו נפל hints to the Muslim brothers who are causing the downfall of all of the kingdoms of Yishmael throughout the world.  And to explain this further, the entire Perasha there is speaking about the descendants of Yishmael and his sons and the years of his life and his death.  The end of the Perasha speaks about everything that happened to the children of Yishmael after his death: (Bereishit 25:18): וַיִּשְׁכְּנוּ מֵחֲוִילָה עַד-שׁוּר, אֲשֶׁר עַל-פְּנֵי מִצְרַיִם, בֹּאֲכָה, אַשּׁוּרָה; עַל-פְּנֵי כָל-אֶחָיו, נָפָל [And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Asshur: over against all his brethren he did settle.]  On this verse did the Baal Haturim say that the end of the verse hints to Yishmael at the End of Days. And that's why it says על פני כל אחיו נפל because Yishmael will not fall via other nations, but rather, from his own brothers - internal revolutions, as we see in our days.  And this is why the name of rebels trickled down as "The Muslim brothers" to symbolize this verse, where brothers are causing a downfall for Yishmael.  And it is hinted to in Midrash (Yalkut Bereishit 79) [One verse says] על פני כל אחיו ישכון [while another verse says] על פני  כל אחיו נפל [How is this reconciled?]  In this world, he will dwell, but in the future, he has fallen.  It comes out from this Midrash that we have a verse in the Torah about the End of Days that is being fulfilled right before our eyes.
  • Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that the Gr"a hinted that he was משביע את הקורא בה' אלקי ישראל - forcing an oath to the reader in Hashem, the G-d of Israel.  Since the Yud-Key-Vav-Key name is read as אדנ"י, which is the Sod of the connection of MBY and MBD - Yesod and Malchut.  Therefore, the time for this oath is on this point in the Redemption process.
  • The Ariza"l's Otzerot Hayim (Ona'a 1) writes: 
    Even though they are Gevurah with the aspect of 216, nevertheless, they are total Hesed since when divided up, they are made into 3x72, where each 72 has the gematria of Hesed.
    We see the the Sod of sweetening of Gevura and the revelation of Hasadim that are hidden therein is via dividing it up into 3 parts, as we see that גבורה is 3x the gematria of חסד.  And it's also brought down in Rabbeinu Behaye (Shemot 32:15) that the שם ע"ב which is the name of Hesed comes out of 72 words which have 216 letters like the gematria of גבורה.  We see that the root of Gevura is Hasadim - from the שם ע"ב.  And it's also brought in Sha'ar HaKavanot (Amida - vol. 1 p.205) that גבורה has the gematria of א-ל plus its Milui (אלף למד).  According to this, Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a explained that the years 71, 72, and 73 are 3x72, i.e., 3x Hesed, which is the completion of the attribute of Hesed, where even the attribute of Gevura joins in with it.  We should merit that the Gevurot should be sweetened and be included in the Hasadim.
  • The Mayan calendar will conclude on Asara Betevet, 5773.
  • [After saying that רבי שמעון בר יוחאי is the gematria of מלחמת אדום ופרס,] Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that there is a hint to this from the gemara (Berachot 9a)  Ribbi Shimon is worthy of relying upon him בשעת הדחק - in a time of emergency.  The word בשעת is the letters of תשע"ב.
  • In a Kuntres in the name of Rav Yitzhak Ginsburg Shlit"a, it is brought down that משה רעיא מהימנא is the gematria of תשע"ב.
  • Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that בקר [from Rut 3:13] has the gematria of שב, which is 7 in Aramaic, making the word שבעת, which equals תשע"ב.
  • Rav Menachem Zisman Shlit"a adds that Yosef died at the age of 110, just like the gematria of דוד המלך [with the Kollel].  This hints to the fact that the death of MBY causes the birth of King David and sweetens his coming
  • The verse says (Bereishit 44:34) כִּי-אֵיךְ אֶעֱלֶה אֶל-אָבִי, וְהַנַּעַר אֵינֶנּוּ אִתִּי:  פֶּן אֶרְאֶה בָרָע, אֲשֶׁר יִמְצָא אֶת-אָבִי [For how shall I go up to my father, if the lad be not with me? lest I look upon the evil that shall come on my father.]  It appears that there is a hint here that Yehuda is telling Yosef, "פן אראה ברע", which has the letters of ערב, for until the "Erev", the lad Binyamin, who symbolizes the Beit Hamikdash, "is not with me", and in such a situation, "How can I go up to my Father?" - to connect to my Father in Heaven.  There is also a hint in the verse (Shemot 32:22) וַיֹּאמֶר אַהֲרֹן, אַל-יִחַר אַף אֲדֹנִי; אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ אֶת-הָעָם, כִּי בְרָע הוּא [And Aaron said: 'Let not the anger of my lord wax hot; thou knowest the people, that they are set on evil.], where ברע has the same letters as ערב - because until evening time, there will be a rulership of evil in the world.
  • The word השמטה is the gematria of משיח.
  • The verse says (Devarim 15:1) מִקֵּץ שֶׁבַע-שָׁנִים, תַּעֲשֶׂה שְׁמִטָּה [At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.] The word תעשה is the letters תשע"ה, which is the upcoming Shemitta year.
  • "בך חותמין ברכה" with the letters is the gematria of תשע"ה.
  • The abundance of Torah-learners in our generation in all places, including husbands of families who learn Torah in poverty - that which in the past was rare, but now has increased a lot Beli Ayin Hara - so shall it increase.  All this is the Sod of Tzemah David, which is connected to MBY.  As we see that the common name of Torah-learners is "Avreichim", which is the name of Yosef, who was called "Avreich" in the Torah.
  • Rav Masoud Abuhatzeira Shlit"a adds that the Rashei Teivot and Sofei Teivot of the end of the blessing of שומע תפלה is תשע"ה.

The 3546-Year Exile

Bereishit 1:2:
וְהָאָרֶץ, הָיְתָה תֹהוּ וָבֹהוּ, וְחֹשֶׁךְ, עַל-פְּנֵי תְהוֹם; וְרוּחַ אֱלֹהִים, מְרַחֶפֶת עַל-פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם
Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.
There is a famous Midrash that says that "unformed" refers to Bavel, "void" refers to Madai, "darkness" refers to Greece, and "the deep" refers to Edom.  "The spirit of God hovered" refers to the Mashiah.  According to this Midrash, this verse contains a brief history of our entire exile and Redemption.

It is noteworthy that the gematria of this verse is 3546.  Why is this noteworthy?

Using Gezageza, I see that there are only 3 verses in all of Tana"ch with the gematria of 3546.  The first is the verse we just mentioned - the second verse in the Torah, in which Hashem is already planning the end (see Yeshaya 46:10 מגיד מראשית אחרית).

The second verse is Bereishit 40:8:

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו--חֲלוֹם חָלַמְנוּ, וּפֹתֵר אֵין אֹתוֹ; וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם יוֹסֵף, הֲלוֹא לֵאלֹהִים פִּתְרֹנִים--סַפְּרוּ-נָא, לִי
And they said unto him: 'We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it.' And Joseph said unto them: 'Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.'
The head-butler and head-baker were telling over their dreams to Yosef.  This event is the precursor to the changeover of Yosef's personal exile to the exile of the entire Jewish people.  The chronological date when this occurred was the year 2227 from Creation.

The third verse with the gematria of 3546 is Tehillim 11:6:

יַמְטֵר עַל-רְשָׁעִים, פַּחִים:    אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית, וְרוּחַ זִלְעָפוֹת--מְנָת כּוֹסָם
Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
And as the Yerushalmi on Pesahim 10:1 notes, this verse refers to the punishment that Hashem will inflict on the nations in the future.

So, verse 1 tells you the entire history, verse 2 tells you what occurred at the start date, and verse 3 tells you what will occur at the end date.

When is the end date?

I don't know, but if you add 3546 to 2227, you get 5773.

Romney vs. Obama: Edom vs. Yishmael

With Mitt Romney's decisive win in Florida's primary, it is looking more and more like he will win the Republican nomination for President.  It is still early and anything could still happen, but this is how it looks now.

Taking a look at Mitt Romney's name in Hebrew - מיט רומני - one is struck by a couple things:

1) The gematria of his name equals 365 - the number of days of the solar calendar, the calendar used by Edom and its predominant faith.
2) Take out the נ from his name - a נ is commonly falling out of words for grammatical reasons - and you get רומי, or Rome, which is Edom.

As was mentioned by others before, ברק חוסיין אובאמה is the gematria of 501, which equals ישמעאלים.  As we know from his own statements, Obama is not a Muslim.  Nevertheless, his background, policies, and gematria all show that he has the spiritual aspects of Yishmael.

This should be an epic showdown.
